CTD, SKSE memory patch

Crushes occurring frequently

1.The game is crushing when i try to exit from some places, but if i stay inside that place, no crush occurs.

2.From some place i can exit without any crush & sometimes infinite loading screen happens.

At the moment i can play game maximum of 20 minute & some time the game crushes on loading screen.

I've ensured that the game runs perfectly fine without SKSE. I'm using the latest version of SKSE.

I tried to allocate more memory by creating skse.ini & SSME (separately) but nothing seems to work. I can see in the MemoryBlocksLog that every time it crashes, the first block is at 256 .

I have SkyUI, UIExtention, PapyrusUtil, JContainer. I am currently using 112 modes & 12k animations. The plugins in skse folder are mostly up-to date.

(1st i installed SKSE via installer from the website. but when the crash started to happen i reinstalled SKSE via archive found at the website by following Gopher's youtube video)

Does anyone know what's causing this?

Be sure you have SKSE memory patch.

Install Crash Fixes 12 and SKSE Plugin Preloader for enable UseOSAllocators=1

Activate your ENB in ENBoost mode for free some video memory.

Re-install XPMSE and put it in the last 10 slots of your load order.

I use NMM, i dont use any Enb or Enboost & regular FNIS, CBBE body, SKSE 1_07_03 (1st i installed SKSE via installer from the website & it worked perfectly fine but when the crash started to happen i reinstalled SKSE via archive found at the website by following Gopher's youtube video. still nothing changed) & my master files are clean, i clean them with TES5Edit.

PC specs :

Intel i3 4130 (3.40 Ghz)

64 bit windows 7

4 GB ram (1333 bus speed)

AMD Radeon hd 5450 sapphire 1gb ddr3 edition

Some of my files are attached, please check them.

skse.log

skse_loader.log

Skyrim.ini

LoadOrder_Skyrim_2018-07-16T20-30-09.txt

Edit : I installed crash Fix 12 & it gives me an error message saying that the game crushed while setting up FootIK & tells me to uninstall some of my animations. But this doesn't increase my block memory from 256 to 512 Mb. I tried creating skse.ini to increase memory allocation, but nothing happens, In MemoryBlockLog right before crushing the 1st block shows 256 mb.

what can i do to keep those animations? its over 12K & i use regular FNIS. I use only 5 to 7 animation mods, & in anim loader it says that i only have 500+ animations.

I didn't have the SKSE.ini file before but now i have it, but still its no use.

& yes XPMSE is in last ten of the load order.

Your skyrim.ini is too small and are fault of a lot of parameters. Use BethIni for correct it.

We need a papyrus.log for verify the correct install of skse memory path.

i use papyrus util, but never knew it's function, in my game directory or in save directory there's nothing named papyrus.log but rather papyrus util.pex,dev & pse.

i dont know if they will do...

skse_papyrus_docs.txt

PapyrusUtilDev.log

PapyrusUtil.pex

Not worry... PapyrusUtil is a developer utility for manage data.

The papyrus.log is the log file of the game and is disabled by default.

For enable it with BethIni activate the marks login, profiling, tracing in Genera Tab or put this in Skyrim.ini:

[Papyrus]
bEnableLogging=1
bEnableProfiling=1
bEnableTrace=1
bLoadDebugInformation=1

Disable it with BethIni or put it in 0 when your problem end.

Basically you are asking a lot of 1GB VRAM and 4GB RAM.

Did you install ENBoost? That should be your first priority.

ENBoost guide.

You need to ensure that ENBoost, Crash Fixes, SKSE and your various ini files are configured correctly.

S.T.E.P. Follow Step 1 and read Step 3.

i dont think my skse.ini is working, cause my memory block stays at 256 mb even though i put memory allocation lines in it. will writing those papyrus line will fix this problem? & I don't know how to use bethIni.

so what im going to do is copy those lines & request help in FNIS section to reduce the number of animations for now. ill keep u updated

The skse memory path is too easy. Simply put a file called skse.ini in SKYRIM\DATA\SKSE and be sure the file is called skse.ini and not skse.ini.txt and put this inside it:

Spoiler

[General]
EnableDiagnostics=1
ClearInvalidRegistrations=1

[Memory]
DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=768
ScrapHeapSizeMB=256

[Display]
iTintTextureResolution=2048

[Debug]
WriteMinidumps=1

In windows explorer go to Tools->Folder Options and disable the option that say "Hide know extensions..." or something like that in the second tab.

For get a better memory management put this to your skyrim.ini (this include the log lines)

Spoiler

[Papyrus]
bEnableLogging=1
bEnableProfiling=1
bEnableTrace=1
bLoadDebugInformation=1
fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=1.6
fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=2000
fUpdateBudgetMS=1.6
iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes=153600
iMaxMemoryPageSize=8192
iMinMemoryPageSize=256

BethIni is too easy to use. Only need open it and click the button Low or Medium and click Save and Exit.

And put ENB in Boost mode. Is required for give stablity to the game, specialy when only have 1g of video ram. Probably your CTD is for video memory out and the Way for solve it it is ENB

I did the skse memory patch, but it seems it didn't increase the 1st block memory. okey ill use BethIni & include the Papyrus log & use ENBoost & if all these fails, ill install some animations like the Crash Fix's error says. but after & if the problem gets solved , should i keep the Crash Fix & Plugin Preloader?

& Most of All MANY MANY THANKS TO ALL YOU GUYS FOR FAST REPLIES

ENBoost isn't an ENB, it is a memory management utility which allows RAM and VRAM to be used more efficiently. Along with Crash Fixes it is the main tool for greatly reducing the number of CTDs.

You will know if you have it set up correctly because it will display info during game load (load screen, top left corner). Don't worry about the text being in red.

Enabling Papyrus logging will just put more strain on your system. I wouldn't bother with it. I've never needed it and never used it in several years of playing modded Skyrim.

Your initial problem of crashing when you enter cities is more than likely a memory problem. Entering a 'busy' cell such as a city usually requires a lot of memory use. If you don't have the memory available different problems can arise, e.g. missing textures, invisible NPCs or CTDs. Papyrus logging will not do anything to tackle this and will probably make it worse (logging uses resources too).

Do use BethIni. I'd go for low given your low spec. You can always try medium later if things are looking up.

So i used BethIni & set everything to low, now i dont get CTD ... but i get alot of lag .. every three step i take a huge lag happens.

i also downloaded & installed Latest ENB serise & ENBoost (lowest) . & a warning comes up before the game starts , it says to change ExpandSystemMemoryX64 in enblocal, or thhings could be bad.

what should i do to prevent the lag?

& now the problem is solved, should i keep the Crash Fix & Plugin Preloader?

Edit : it worked for the 1st time, but now it's same as before, it crashes at loading screen. & now it uses much much less memory(ram), dont know about vram though. texure of the loading screen has gone low & it still manages to CTD. I also enabled ENB mode in BethIni.

You have a small machine and you need the help from the tools for have a stable game, that include Crash Fixes 12 and ENBoost, if you remove them probably you get a CTD. Let it installed.

But disable the log file as i indicated. Making log consume machine and you only have a bit.

The best way for config ENB is make it with BethIni that have a check in the main screen. Click it and press save.

If you not want use BethIni locate the fille called enblocal.ini in your skyrim dictory, same that have TESV.EXE and change these lines:

UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics=true

ExpandSystemMemoryX64=false

The first line put ENB in Boost mode. If you have it in false probably is the cause of the lag. You must see a line saying it when start game, is in RED color, is normal, not worry.

The second line is a old parameter and is supersed by Crash Fixes 12 and for that must be false.

everything is just as u guys said. i followed it by the letter. but still it crushes on loading screen. see the files i attached. the fix error kept saying to reduce animations & it crushes while loading FootIK. when i start new game... even in medium quality , the game runs smoothly. now im out of option , maybe u guys are too. again thanks for your time.

You are making good... near finish... only one step more... i think...

If you game run good in a new game and get FootIK error from Crash Fixes when load a game install Load Game CTD Fix for try solve it.

Probably is the last step that you need, but if not work or have more problems, ask it, not worry.

Edit: The problem with animation limit is diferent and i dude you have it because happend when try start new game. Normaly happend with fnis XXL and normal Fnis let you below the limit.

The memory section of enblocal.ini is not configured properly. It is set to VideoMemorySizeMb=0. Depending upon your OS there may be a specific formula to get the correct number.

You really need to follow carefully the two guides I linked to above (ENBoost and S.T.E.P.) Bookmark them as they will always be handy to have at hand.

Double check all the inis - enblocal, skyrim, skyrimprefs and any others which have been altered.

Use BethIni then do the manual changes as recommended by S.T.E.P.

FootIK is another memory-related issue.

No, do one step at a time and stop flipping about. That is how you make mistakes and overlook things.

Load Game CTD Fix is another one of those mods which people recommend but I have never had the need to use.

I followed S.T.E.P 1 (pre installation) & Enabled ENBoost but didn't solve my problem (probably i missed something)  but it definitely reduced my ram usage in half. after that (one at a time) i tried Load Game CTD fix & it worked. now when i fast travel or exit from somewhere, it happens instantly.

Thank you guys from rescuing me from this mess (which is made by me). Can't thank you guys enough.
