You know them... those movies that everyone hates. But somehow, inexplicably... you (really) like them.

Share them with us!

Mine, I have more but they will pop up.

Superman Returns with Brandon Routh... Everyone hated that one and I really liked it.

The Day After Tomorrow I really liked the post apocalyptic ice setting, regardless of the whacky science...

SW Attack of the clones it's the one prequel I really like.

What are your guilty pleasures????

Street Fighter: People scoffed at it. I thought it was a pretty entertaining attempt. Raul Julia as Bison, Van Damme as Guile, Kylie Minogue as Cammy, come on! Sure it was cheesy as all hell but how are ya supposed to make a serious film while staying true to the source material? Might as well enjoy the cheese. They never managed to make a better live action Street Fighter movie. Fight me.

Equilibrium: Critically panned but viewers love it. It might be low budget but this is about as close as we'll ever get to a film version of Brave New World mixed with an obligatory healthy dose of action scenes.

Alien 3: Maybe everyone just got tired of the franchise but give this one another shot. It might surprise you.

I really liked Alien 3. Part of why people hate it, is because the creators went onscreen to basically admit 'it failed'.

There are even some scenes in Alien 4 that I really like, for instance when Winona Ryder hooked up to the ship's systems and hated it. Or the underwater scenes which were pretty epic movie making..

Okay here's one that will definitely make people want to lynch me..

I liked The Green Lantern. In fact, I liked it a lot. Especially the cheese surrounding it. I watched it three times at least.

I don't know why people hate on it so much. Yes some stuff is bad, but has anyone been watching the DC movies lately? :D

As much as I hate Uwe Boll's other movies, and as much of a George A. Romero-zombie purist as I am, I really liked The House of the Dead. It was bad, the SFX were cheesy as hell, but I liked it. I just wish I knew why.

And I liked Alien 3, too. I guess I'm just an Alien fanboi. :classic_wink:

Uwe Boll! Now you've brought another one of my favorite movies everyone hates, Doom 2005. I know Uwe Boll didn't make it, but I always think he did.... until I find out he didn't.... so he's connected to this movie somehow in my twisted mind.

I always want to watch it on my iPad when I go on holidays, or on rainy Sunday mornings... I'm going to check out The house of the Dead.

The director's cut is actually pretty good. Some scenes are completely different from the original release (like how the alien doesn't born from a dog).

Alien Resurrection however... ? As far as i'm concerned, only the first three movies (as Director's Cuts) and first two Alien vs Predator games are worthwhile. Alien Isolation is awesomely made, but it's gameplay mechanics are way too annoying for me.

Oh yeah, and Doom movie was just shit. But imagine this: a Doom movie directed by John Carpenter at his prime ?

The Cabin in the Woods. This movie was both loved and hated by horror fans and still gets mixed reviews. It even got an Easter Egg in Skyrim with a book of the same name. Take it for what it is: a farcical look at the snuff porn that modern horror movies have become. It actually made me laugh at times when it showcased the tired, dull character archetypes and plots. And the plot itself is so ludicrous it fits right in with what Hollywood pumps out assembly line.

And how do you insert movies in the forums by linking to their web source? I've never gotten it to work...

The Evil Dead (2013 remake). Don't get me wrong, I just adore Bruce Campbell and the Evil Dead anthology. And when this came out, I was still recovering from the disaster that was The Thing's prequel, one of the movies I just hate because of how it was "gore before horror." So this was a pleasant surprise to see. It's not as witty as the original 1981 version, nor does it have Campbell's patented hammy overacting, but it did speak more to the themes of "things man was not meant to know" and "there are forces beyond human ken." I was actually glad the producers (including both Raimi brothers) didn't try to recreate the original and let this stand on its own merits. The original was campy, this one was brutal and unapologetic.
