Darkening Demise Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 Well that's intriguing to say the least. https://simsvip.com/2018/05/23/the-sims-4-special-announcement-coming-may-24th-teaser/

R-Lo Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 Nyaa! It's scarecrow! ? Looks like a farming ep, Can expect some hillbilly banging behind the barn at best! ? Or.... Wizard of Oz?
IndigoLove07 Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 what ever it is get ready for all your mods to get ruined -_-
Spyder Arachnid Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 And yep, it's Seasons. Honestly really awesome to hear this. Been waiting for Seasons. https://www.ea.com/games/the-sims/the-sims-4/pc/news/seasons-reveal
TabooGood Posted May 24, 2018 Posted May 24, 2018 The trailer for The Sims 4 Seasons Expansion just dropped! Time to get warm in the snow ;)
weredeer Posted May 25, 2018 Posted May 25, 2018 Finally some dlc i give a damn about. I hope scarecrow is the new lifestate. I know how much we all crave hanging in one place all day. Now we can do it in the sims! Create your own holidays? Idk what it will be like, but I am gonna dust off my festivus pole anyway.

SEA-SONS!"... am I the only one who tought "Aren't the sea-sons sea-men?" I can't be the only one... but I'm probably the only one to admit it
Sethster Posted May 25, 2018 Posted May 25, 2018 Amazing! I loved Seasons in both TS2 and TS3, and from the looks of the trailer, I think I'll fairly enjoy it in TS4 as well. Although, I really hope they didn't change the system requirements, otherwise I'd have to miss it, since I'm using a 5yo PC which hasn't gone through any updates in years. Oh and are we getting witches? Or is that guy who threw an electric ball into the air some other weird ass feature?
porkybork Posted May 25, 2018 Posted May 25, 2018 I saw this in Origin the other day! I'm glad we'll finally be getting the weather system and holidays back. Gonna wait for it to go on sale before I buy it though, $40 is a bit too much for me.
GreyMouse Posted May 25, 2018 Posted May 25, 2018 Fuck yeah!! Thanks for the info. I've been waiting and hoping that they would bring out seasons again.
FauxFurry Posted May 28, 2018 Posted May 28, 2018 Hopefully, this means that dehydration, heat stroke, lightning strikes, hail and frost bite are new potential causes of death for Sims.

That might be a little too far for EA. But I would definitely like to see some new creative ways for sims to perish from the weather exposure. My guess would be that it's just some temporary thing that can happen when they get struck by lightning, though it would be cool if it did permanently change them in some way, preferably a supernatural way ?

I like to think that it temporarily turns into Cole MacGrath from Infamous.

MiniGiles Posted May 29, 2018 Posted May 29, 2018 8 hours ago, TabooGood said: Shrinkage? ? Like an automatic size downgrade if they have .Noir.'s penis mods? Huge become Extra Big, Extra Big becomes Big, so on and so forth. Exhibition sims could have a higher chance of contracting illness when they do their thing outside in the cold or be more satisfied from the thrill of doing woohoo during a bad storm.
Darkening Demise Posted May 30, 2018 Author Posted May 30, 2018 Whelp Sims 2 from 2004 had snow depth but Sims 4 from 2014 is too shitty to handle it apparently. https://simsvip.com/2018/05/30/simgurugrant-discusses-snow-depth-in-the-sims-4-seasons/ Pathetic! A fucking 14 year old game does it better than a modern game. Shows how shitty Sims 4 engine is so much for 'huge potential'. lmao Oh well more reason to never touch the EP. Already confirmed snow piles with the snow shovel is a Sim gathering a collectible like base game rocks and the dirt pile from Cats and Dogs. Pets won't get anything and will not be affected by the weather like Sims as well which makes no sense but hey Sims 4! lol

A modder managed to do the sunburn's already. What makes it even worse is all the idiot's on twitter defending this EA BS then handing over their money. Can you imagine if Bethesda said "We couldn't get snow to look right" then added snow textures like white paint in Skyrim!.. Well EA have done just that, and people are defending them for it. The chat in the next stream should be fun though, just like the last one.

Character Values and new Weather Channel, Pool Interactions and Fog/Hail, Pets in the Snow, New Outfit Categories. There will probably be more later or some stuff saved as a surprise of course, but pets definitely do have new interactions with weathers. As for snow depth, yeah it looks rather painted on (the snow, not depth). Sims 2 and 3 both had different heights of snow which looked good. Kind of disheartened to hear that Sims 4 won't have that. And from the videos and screenshots I've seen, it looks like white paint everywhere. Hopefully we get some nice terrain overhauls from modders to make the snow at least look like snow and not like a painter had an accident. EDIT: Here's a nice article to help see the difference in Snow from Sims 2, Sims 3, and then Sims 4 (with pictures). Though this is pretty neat:
Vengeance_11 Posted June 8, 2018 Posted June 8, 2018 In a continuing trend for the Sims 4, EA is still giving us lazy, watered down content in Expansions they've put little effort into creating. Compared to what the Sims 3 versions offered, this is pretty poor. They then add in the missing content in even more pricey DLC. (Laundry Day and Jungle Adventure for example, is content that Sims 3 added in with Ambitions and World Adventures respectively)
