I have recently dug up an old save file, originating from one of my original, ancient Oldrim playthroughs on X360, which I have converted several years back from Xbox 360 format to PC with a method I can't remember now, to be used with Skyrim LE, which ultimately I never did. Just for shits and giggles I decided to load it into my current heavily-modded SE installation, fully expecting it to crash and burn. To my surprise it loaded fine and quite quickly for that matter, with all the mods properly initialising and installing as if I had just started a new game in a LAL cell. Even Ordinator played nicely and after some 2 minutes refunded over 90+ perk points to my character. Looking at the character and seeing how ugly vanilla she was, compared to totally overhauled Serana who accompanied her, it turned out to be a level 94 wood elf female with over 320 hours playtime, having finished the main quest, the Dawnguard storyline and currently being stranded somewhere in the middle of Solstheim. Anyway, after faffing about for 5 minutes with inventory, looking through quest log and feeling completely lost I quit and decided to fire it up in ReSaver to see if there are any problems. It came up with the following message: Potential problems were identified There are 100 stacks and 193 frames, which may indicate a problem. Firefly occurs the most often (156 occurrences) I clicked on it and received the following: SCRIPT Firefly extends Critter Contains 90 member variables, 72 were inherited. There are 235 instances of this script. Now, I am not a modder, I have no idea about scripting and I don't know the significance of this message, but from my limited knowledge I assume so many running scripts, even if vanilla, is not good. I did some quick googling but it would not come up with anything helpful, however I would like to clean this save file. While it would probably work as is, I'd be constantly haunted by a thought that somewhere in there something is not right, and I would like to continue her adventures after probably something like 6 or 7 years since I last played this character. Sadly I don't have the original X360 save file anymore, since it went down when the console was bricked, so I can't attempt another conversion if I wanted to. So how do I go about cleaning this script instance? Do I even want to or can I leave it be? Can I just delete it in ReSaver and be done with it? If not, what tool do I use? What do I need to look for? The save file is attached if you want to look through it yourself or want to use this character. Since it was originally converted for Skyrim LE, it should work for both Oldrim and SE and if you want, you are free to use it for your own means if you'd like to continue her adventures yourself.     Description and Stuff As several people have requested that I upload a save of my character, here she is. Includes two saves and three plugins to change the appearance of Cait, Piper, and Curie. The 1st save was saved directly at the beginning in pre-war Sanctuary and the 2nd save was saved before leaving Vault 111. My Character doesn't have scars and face paint in those savefiles like in the screenshots. If you want your character to have scars and the face paint you can simply add them with the Looks Menu or by vising the Facial Reconstruction Surgeon. The facepaint I used is called Gridiron and the scars are called Lip Gouges and Right Brow Deep. REQUIRED: Valkyr Female Face and Body Textures, Eye Normal Map Fix and The Eyes Of Beauty. Save and Plugin Installation: To use my saves you just have to simply extract and drag them into your Fo4 savegame directory. Which is normally "C:\Users\User Name\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\Saves ". To use the plugins drag them to your Fo4 game directory Which is normally "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Data" Don't forget to activate the esps. Face Transfer Copy my character's face data to a savefile of your choice with Face Ripper. Before doing this I recommend moving all your other saves to another folder, because the newly generated save may somtimes be hard to find. Download, extract and open Face Ripper. The "Source Save or Plugin" is the save where you copy the face data from. (You can use the Sactuary or the Vault 111 file, it doesn't matter.) The "Target Save or Plugin" is the save where you copy the face data to. Then click on Transfer Face, the program should say "Successfully loaded save data" and "Done". A new save with the transferred face will be created. The makeup may not appear correctly in some cases. You can fix this by opening your console and tpying "slm player" or "slm 14". Then fix the camera perspective by going into the Body Options Menu first and then enter the skin color menu and hover over another skin color. The makeup should appear correctly now. Exit the Looks Menu. If you are stuck with the camera perspective press "R, or whatever key you have bound as Reloading/Ready" to reset the camera. Editing the appearance of Cait, Piper, and Curie You can change the appearance of Cait, Curie and Piper by writing player.placeatme >insert ID here< 001647C6 - Curie's Base ID 00002f1e - Piper's Base ID 00079249 - Cait's Base ID Once you've spawned them type slm >insert ID here< For example SLM 00079249 to edit Cait's appearance. After you are done editing don't forget to disable the NPC you just spawned.
  3. I have CTD's when loading my save, to play normally i have to first do coc qasmoke then load my game. It works but i have to do this every time if i want to load my save. how can i sole this issue? ps. Even when i save after i succesfully load my game the new save crashes too
  4. Recently, I've deleted everything on my secondary hard disk, but unfortunatly I also deleted, by mistake, the backups of my Skyrim saves. (I've already tried with a Data Recovery Tool but the files are overwritten). I managed to recover my saves (with 300+ mods installed) from the Steam Cloud, but I just have the .ess files of my character. The question now is: I'm reinstalling every mod, because I made I clean reinstallation, will I be able to load my savegame just with the .ess files? I don't know exactly what does the .skse file contains... I don't mind if I lose MCM configuration... The save was the 5580, after years of playing... it would be bad to lose it. P.S: Forgive me if I made any mistake, but I'm not a fluent english speaker.
  5. Hi All, I started a new play-through recently. However, whenever I load a save from any new game, it instantly crashes to desktop. I have no idea why. What's even more weird is that my older saves load just fine. I've spent the last 3 days searching all over google and multiple forums looking for help. Please if someone can help me figure this out, I will be very grateful. I did one of those crashdump logs and gathered the following information: ------------------------------------------------------- EXCEPTION_RECORD: ffffffff -- (.exr 0xffffffffffffffff) ExceptionAddress: 00697673 (TESV+0x00297673) ExceptionCode: c0000005 (Access violation) ExceptionFlags: 00000000 NumberParameters: 2 Parameter[0]: 00000000 Parameter[1]: 00000088 Attempt to read from address 00000088 ------------------------------------------------------- Again, when i googled it, it didn't say much at all. In fact I think someoen else had the issue but their question was never answered. Please someone help me out. Thanks so much
  6. So I followed Lexy's guide until the end, and then I proceeded to merge a couple mods and I added some LL mods / animations and called it good. But the issue is that I can make a new game and I can play for as long as I want. But if I close my game and try to load any save at all it will CTD no matter what. I've attached my plugins, modlist and load order because I have tried pretty much everything I know. plugins.txt modlist.txt loadorder.txt
  7. Hi! First of all, sorry my English, I'm from Spain. I updated my game to Cats&Dogs, so I updated a lot of mods, including the WickedWhims mod to the latest version. I can load my save, but I can't save it because it gives me a 510 error. I tried a lot of things and I discovered: - I can save the game in other savegames (made for testing) - I can save my main savegame in "Manage Worlds" mode, but can't while playing with my sims - I can't save in any househould When trying to save, it gives me a LastException.txt message and 510 error.   8. Hi, I have recently tried (after many months of playing with it active, yet broken/not working) to remove Beeing Female mod from my load order. On disabling it, i can no longer save or wait in-game without a CTD. - I have tried the player.kill/previous save method but that doesn't work here. - If i clean the save with a save cleaner (i have tried with Savetool / Falrim tool / PDT wrapper) , it allows me to save but i then get long periods of hanging before it saves and or whilst waiting or even changing cells. - Once saved however, if i load that save, i get the "this save is corrupt and cannot be loaded!" message... Save cleaners are then powerless on these corrupted saves too (or maybe i'm doing it wrong). Additionally, i have duplicates in the MCM list, which i really would like to clean up... Beeing Female MCM never showed anything as far as i can remember, and appears twice also. - Setstage SKI_configmanagerinstance 1 does not work - it doesn't refresh anything at this point... I have : - Jaxons MCM kicker - CrashFixes 1.2 - ENBOOST - Safety Load - SKSE Plugin preloader - LOOT'd everything - Cleaned everything with TES5 edit individually - Bashed patch - FNIS'd ... pretty much run out of ideas too. I also had massive unreadable Papyrus logs (50GB + ) at one point, but have eventually managed to rectify that by tweaking the .INI's i think, not sure what fixed that. Also checked the strings number and am around 61000 (so under the 65,535 limit) but anyway, i think CrashFixes has a setting which safeguards against that. All in all, the game is playable but MCM is totally stuck and i can't touch the mods which sucks. The one thing i would like to try is terminating active threads / removing instances of scripts the proper way with Scalpel tool, but i don't really understand the tutorial video by flexcreator as there is no dialog/instructions. Can anybody help please?

A lot has been written about this topic, but i didn't see one particular pitfall mentioned anywhere: Sometimes, especially when you cast stuff to something else, the game may happen to store the value as a "reference to the original object, but cast as whatever", which may prevent an object from being deleted when calling Delete(), possibly resulting in save game bloat. EDIT: A more clear example/description is probably in my third post.

    Alduin is dead

    This is not a mod, but a savegame. When you load the save, you will be at the Throat of the World immediately after Alduin's death. You will start as a Nord female, at level 3, and with a full set of daedric armor. Most dungeons (even story ones) are largely unexplored. For this save, I went into god mode, turned off clipping here and there and rushed through the story. I did not use any mods, no SKSE, and the only thing done is the main story line. I killed as little as possible, so you can go back to the dugeons and battle through them. Hearthfire and Dawnguard were installed on the play through but it should still work without them. I made this save after I had to reinstall due to mod issues. I got tired of going through the main story (this was the eighth time for me). I hope this will help someone else. I may add to this and complete the Imperial and Stormcloak quest lines if people are interested. This is also available on the Nexus My name on the Nexus is nexus8226.
  12. I find a bug in Sexlab 1.62 Legendary version caused by the function GetAllAnimationTags. Only happend when we call the function GetAllAnimationTags after start SexLab but before load a save whit SexLab Active. Happend in a base game with only 12 mods, the minimun required. Happend in the same way with PapyrusUtil 3.3 and whitout it. Steps to reproduce the problem: Start a New Game. Enable SexLab in the MCM. Wait until SexLab initialize and show the message "Sexlab 1.62 Ready" Call the function GetAllAnimationTags and you get a CTD in StorageUtil.dll Steps to solve the problem: Start a New Game. Enable SexLab in the MCM. Wait until SexLab initialize and show the message "Sexlab 1.62 Ready" Save your game and load it again. Call the function GetAllAnimationTags. Works perfectly. I only know one public mod that use that function: Sexlab Mass MatchMaker SE 1.2 I'm developing a new mod that use the function GetAllAnimationTags and find the problem. For one side, the fail is severe because cause CTD in StorageUtil that is part of PapyrusUtil. But for other side has a very easy solution: Save your game and load it again EDIT: The CTD happend in the same way when we made a Reset of Sexlab = Clean System in the MCM. Open Sexlab MCM, go to the last page, select Reset of Sexlab = Clean System, close the MCM and wait the messagebox: Open the MCM of Mass MatchMaker SE 1.2 go to Tag Settings and click in Reload TagList = CTD: The solution is exactly the same: Save your game and load it again
