En este Carpa 1488, por eso, nos alejamos, aparentemente, de las progresiones estéticas del autor. Si en años anteriores hemos viajado al pasado y visitado la ciudad natal del artista acompañándolo en sus intensos paseos, este año, algo ha cambiado en el trabajo del fotógrafo. Atrás han quedado la mudanza, la pandemia y la enfermedad y todo parece indicar que una etapa nueva se abre ante el. La primavera pasada los hermanos del fotógrafo cogieron un huerto junto al río con una visión un tanto idealizada de lo que significa trabajar la tierra y nuestro autor, por colaborar, cogio el chapo y se puso a cavar para descubrir, no sin cierta sorpresa, que se le da bastante bien, casi de forma natural, la horticultura y, desde entonces, ha cambiado sus esquemas habituales de trabajo. Así, el huerto ocupa toda la mañana y la fotografía y el arte 3d queda para la tarde y noche. Pasados los primeros meses de intenso trabajo para arrancar con el huerto, Jose Carlos, volvió a coger su camara, en realidad para ser justos, empuño su dispositivo y teléfono y comenzó a fotografiar su entorno mas cercano. Un proyecto bocetado a finales del verano y que nos fue presentado acompañado de una selección de los vegetales cosechados esa estación por el autor y que dio lugar a una de las mas animadas mesas de redacción de los últimos años. No solo por la maratón gastronómica con la que nos obsequio Jose Carlos fue memorable esa velada, nada pudo alegrarnos mas que ver al autor volver a fotografiar con regularidad tras su abandono del medio hace ya mas de diez años. Antes de llegar a los postres había quedado definida la edición y decidí repartir entre las redactoras las distintas secciones de la misma y el diseño general quedo en manos de Dorita y Paquita con las que el autor trabaja desde hace ya mucho tiempo en perfecta armonía y, como no podía ser de otra manera, comenzaron los viajes hasta Fusteret para trabajar en el nuevo volumen. Precisamente, en una de las estancias de las redactoras en casa de Jose Carlos, surgió la idea de eliminar todo comentario o introducción a las distintas secciones que el fotógrafo había pensado para disponer sus instantáneas. Paquita fue la que decidió trasladar a las intros de este Carpa el carrusel de recetas tradicionales preparadas por el autor con productos de su huerta en sustitución de los comentarios habituales redactados por sus compañeras de mandato. Dispuestas las recetas en abanico gustativo preparan al lector para acompañar al fotógrafo durante su deambular por los campos y bosques cercanos a su residencia. Como siempre, el autor renuncia a situar sus fotografías espacial o temporalmente y deja abierta la puerta para que seamos nosotros, como espectadores, quienes comiencen a tejer sus propias lineas de percepción y evocación en busca del oculto significado de cada imagen tras la aparente fría objetividad de todas ellas.
