The Story of the Red Witch
Chapter Sixteen: Unleashing the Beasts
When Silas finished telling his story to Liri, he didn’t feel as emotional as he did when he told Rosalie. However, the pain of having to remember those events still hurt, and he knew Liri could tell.
Silas: So there it is. You can probably gather why I want to destroy this Clan now.
Liri: Yeah…
Liri grabbed her arm and avoided eye contact with Silas.
Liri: Silas... I’m… I mean… I didn’t—
Silas: You didn’t know, and I didn’t want you to know. No need to feel bad about anything now.
Liri: But… BUT I JUST TRIED TO KILL YOU!!! How can I NOT feel bad!? I called you a monster… I said that I hoped your soul—
Liri: W-wait!? What are you doing!?
Silas raised an eyebrow at Liri, and then smirked.
Silas: A bit hypocritical don’t you think? You can waltz around the whole of Skyrim in your birthday suit, but I can’t get changed in my own home.
Silas approached Liri, and she felt something rub against her inner thigh. She turned slightly from Silas, trying to ignore it.
Liri: B-but… J-just don’t do it in front of me you pervert!
Silas: As I told Rosalie, wouldn’t you want to see a man that you liked naked?
Silas could only laugh as Liri stood speechless.
Silas: Fine woman. I’ll put something on, but stay here a moment.
Silas began to walk away, and then stopped to face Liri.
Silas: Also, get over your ‘fear’ of vampires. I know you’re not afraid of us. You’re afraid of what we remind you of.
Liri nodded as she knew what he was talking about, her eyes unconsciously lingering a bit too long as Silas walked away…
Once she was alone, Liri facepalmed.
Liri: (He’s not a piece of meat. You DON’T feel THAT way towards him… It’s just his stupid sexy vampire charms… N-nothing more, nothing—)
???: Tinira’s whore has returned. But by the sound of things, she’s been up to no good with that weakling Silas.
Before she could look around to see who it was, Liri found herself flying through the air…
…Landing rather awkwardly when she finally crashed to a stop.
Liri: Dammit all… That wasn’t funny Sil—
Liri’s word’s got caught in her throat as the man before her rose from the shadows and stepped into the dim basement’s light.
Foran: Foran knows, we all know. Silas thinks us dumb, but the walls, the floors, this house, this city, this hold… All of it has ears and eyes that can be traced back to Tinira.
Foran stepped closer to Liri who flinched.
Foran: He’s more foolish than I gave him credit for if he thought that his leash had more give.
Foran: But fret not whore. Submit to me, and you won’t share the fate of Silas and those bitches from Volkihar upstairs. You have a future as my slave. Don’t throw it away out of pride, Nord.
Liri rose to her feet and stared right into Foran’s eyes while speaking in a very low tone…
Liri: I am not a piece a property!!!
Silas snuck past both Serana and Rosalie and was able to get to his room on the third floor, and when he did, he laid down on his bed and finally was able to relax.
Silas: *sigh* I think Liri’s finally on board with this… Which means that I can move along my plans sooner than I had expected.
He closed his eyes and laughed to himself.
Silas: It’s almost over Lisaly. When I finish this, I’ll have avenged you, and I’ll be one step closer to seeing you again…
???: Still thinking about your dead wench? You’re so dull Silas… It’s almost laughable. But I guess that’s what made Tinira pick you oh so long ago… that and your looks.
Silas sighed and sat up on the edge of the bed unenthusiastically.
Silas: So you were home Yslif? So you hid your presence from me… Tinira’s been teaching you a few things…
Yslif: It was Foran, and is that all you’ve got to say? Don’t I just look… captivating?
She flashed him a smile that would have seduced most mortals, luckily Silas was no mortal.
Silas got up and looked over her quickly.
Silas: You look like you’ve been feeding... And even with all that ‘fake’ strength you’re still not on either Tinira or my level. Face it Yslif, you’re—
Yslif pushed Silas over and pinned him to the bed.
Yslif: I’m not afraid of you anymore Silas. You may be the Head of Clan Volstikar, but you’re by no means the strongest!
Silas gave her a bored look.
Silas: So what? Do you think that killing me will make you take my spot? You’re more foolish than I thought if you think Tinira will let you—
Yslif: First off, screw Tinira. That stuck up bitch can go die in a hellfire. And whoever said a thing about killing you? Oh no, I’d make you into my slave. Hehehe, oh how I’d thoroughly enjoy your—
Completely annoyed with her banter, Silas threw Yslif off of her and donned his armor.
Silas: Is Foran with you?
Yslif looked up at Silas and smirked.
Yslif: Wouldn’t you like to know? Hehe, and even if he was, do you think that your weak self could even take him? You’d be dead before you could—
Swiftly, Silas grabbed her by the throat and pressed her against the wall.
Silas: Last chance Yslif. IS. FORAN. HERE.
Yslif tried to keep on her tough girl act, but when she felt like Silas was close to crushing her throat, she had no choice but to nod in the affirmative.
Silas tossed her aside and was about to aid his companions, when he felt something grip his leg.
Silas: What in Oblivion are you doing? Get off of me, Yslif, if you don’t want me to kill you!!
Yslif smirked at Silas.
Yslif: Now!
Silas turned around just in time to get pierced through his stomach with a dagger. It didn’t hurt and he instantly healed from it, but immediately he felt the effects of the attack.
Silas: W-what did you do to me…
Yslif got to her feet and struck Silas down to the ground, and then laid beside him.
Yslif: How does it feel to be in the position of submission Silas? I am truly going to savor this…
Serana: So…
Rosalie: Yeah…
Serana: Didn’t Silas seem a bit off when Liri showed up? And the way that he walked off with her… He was treating her completely different from either of us…
Rosalie: *shrug* They kinda had a vibe between them. You know, that they may have fucked before or something.
Serana’s eyes went wide at that assumption.
Serana: W-wha!? How outlandish!!! Do you even think Silas is the type of guy who’d do that? He still only has eyes for—
Rosalie shrugged again.
Rosalie: All I know is that the way he looks at me sometimes… It’s kind of like there’s a bit of a primal look in his eyes, as if he’s lusting for me…
Serana: Hmph! Look at the child trying to get involved in the affairs of grownups. Get over yourself little one. Psh! You’re not even that cute in—Wait! Do you sense that?
Rosalie glared at the older Volkihar.
Rosalie: Don’t you go changing the subject! What were you saying about me, you old crone?
Serana: I’ll let that slide as we’ve bigger matters to attend to.
Serana glanced at the ceiling and then the floor.
Serana: It seems that there are more people in the manor than the four of us…
Rosalie followed motions and sharply glanced at Serana.
Rosalie: There are multiple people upstairs, and there are two insanely strong people in the basement… Wait, where’s Silas!?
Serana: (That was probably him who rushed upstairs…) I don’t know, but you should go down and make sure Liri’s alright. If anything happens to her, Silas would have our heads and you know it.
Rosalie moved like she was about to reject that notion, but Serana’s gaze stopped her from doing so.
Rosalie: Fine whatever. I’ll just tell Silas that his FIANCE was too lazy to do it herself.
As soon as Rosalie had left, Serana tensed up and acknowledged the mammoth in the room.
Serana: Sorry about that. I didn’t want to get anyone involved that absolutely didn’t need to be.
???: That’s fine, but the poor girl would have been better off here rather than the basement. After all, I just wish to talk, whereas who knows what Foran’s got in store for her.
Serena whipped around at the mention of the enormous Volstikar’s name.
Serana: Are you insane? What in the world do you think you’re doing allowing him to still run around free? You can’t—
???: I can’t what? Control him? See, that’s the difference between the Volstikars and the Volkihars. You all are so hell-bent on controlling others, whereas we allow them to be… themselves.
Serana raised her fists towards the other vampire.
Serana: No wonder Liri hates vampires, Tinira!!! If I were told such lies, had to bear witness to such blatant disrespect and malice—
Tinira: Listen spawn of Harkon, if you and Darius’s progeny don’t want to get wrapped into our little family feud, I suggest that you shut your mouth and listen to what I have to tell you.
Serana clenched her fists and grit her teeth, which only amused Tinira.
Tinira: Good. Now I have a proposition for you. Leave here with that pink haired bitch, and that’ll be it. Simple isn’t it?
Serana laughed and shook her head.
Serana: Ha! Why should I listen to you? When have you ever been a woman of your word? You’ll probably send your underlings after us as soon as we leave.
Tinira: I only want what’s best for Silas, and what’s best for him is Liri’s death. He’s grown quite… ATTACHED to that mortal, and I’d HATE for their relationship to ruin things between our Clans.
Serana: (Shit… I was only thinking about myself. I never even considered the Clan, or Darius… but Liri…)
Tinira: So, what’s your response?
Serana: I… I accept…
Tinira: *smirk* I knew you would.
Foran: Heh, you’re right. You’re a sack of meat, of food. Be grateful that I haven’t devoured you as of yet. And did you think that mumbling was going to make you sound serious? Bow before me, or die!
Liri laughed and turned from Foran, while still speaking low.
Liri: If you think you can step to me vampire, then by all means… bring it.
Foran cracked his neck and glowered at the Nord.
Foran: You stubborn bitch. At least I get a workout and a meal.
Foran lunged at Liri who didn’t budge, and for the red haired Nord it seemed as if timed stopped.
Liri: No, he’s still moving… But this is…
Her mind went back the tomb where she found Serana and the insane power surge she experienced there.
Liri: (If what I’m experiencing is this… Then I’m untouchable!!!)
Time resumed as normal and Foran’s fist slammed down hard, razing the ground and unleashing a torrent of flames where Liri had stood…
Foran: With the way you were talking, I assumed that you were going to be more bark than bite. But you mortals never change. Always fleeing like the cowards you are!!
A voice in Liri’s head kept telling her to kill Foran, to rip his throat out, gouge his eyeballs, tear out his tongue, lacerate his ligaments... However, she ignored it and instead…
Liri listened to the voice that had been echoing in her head ever since her Clan placed this seal on her, the one that told her to ‘Kill Everything.’
Liri: Playtime is over, as is your life!!
Maid: What, if you don’t mind me asking Mistress, was that dagger coated with? I thought your kind—vampires—were immune to diseases.
Yslif looked down at Silas with a carnal look in her eyes.
Yslif: True, but despite it all, we’re still weak against silver and sunlight, though true vampires aren’t AS weak against the latter.
Yslif: Oh course the Volstikar are superior to the Volkihar in that we’re not weak to the sun at all, Silekke.
Silekke: That… that does make sense, Mistress.
Yslif rolled her eyes and stared down at her prize again.
Yslif: The ‘poison’ you gave him was laced with high amounts of silver. Therefore his prized undead immune system won’t be able to—
Silas let out a deafening howl and threw Yslif off of him. He then got on his hands and knees and started panting heavily.
Silas: You… you fools!!! You don’t know what you’ve done!!!
Yslif got up and got the kink out her neck.
Yslif: Tsk! He’s just being melodramatic and absurdly irritating. Stab him in the back this time, but leave a long gash. *smirk* I want to see him squirm.
Silekke: Tee hee! I was just thinking the same thing Mistress.
Silekke stood over Silas and lifted the dagger once again.
Silekke: I’m not betraying you Master, I’m just following orders!
That phrase made him remember something in his past.
???: You see those ignorant soldiers over there who can only follow orders? Never hesitate in ending their lives, by any means necessary.
Just before the blade could pierce his skin once again, Silas pushed Silekke back and encased himself in a menacing aura…
Yslif: Nononono!!! Tinira said he couldn’t do this anymore! She said—
The being that appeared in Silas’s place gazed at her and the Volstikar stood paralyzed in fear.
???: FOOLISH WRECH… IT’S TIME… TO DIE!!!!
