The Story of the Red Witch
Chapter Five: Grasping At Straws
Part One
Liri: So… Aumida is it? What are you doing out here anyways? Chopping down trees?
Aumida: Ha! That’s a good one, uh, um, I don’t think I caught your name.
Liri: That’s because I didn’t give it.
Aumida: *frowns* Right… well I’m training my endurance and accuracy. I’m hitting this tree as fast as I can as hard as I can while trying to only hit the same spots.
Liri: Sounds… (dumb) tedious. Doing that for a while can build up sweat right? A pretty little thing like you shouldn’t be wasting her time gaining useless muscles and wearing herself out.
Aumida: Pretty? That’s kind of neat hearing that from another woma—Gods woman! Put on some clothing! You’re making me feel unseasonably warm.
Liri: Ha! You? Warm? In that get up?
Aumida: Hmph! Believe it or not, I’m actually quite warm. It’s you who should be worried about warmth. By the Divines, I’m surprised your nips haven’t froz—AGH! What have you got me talking about!?
Part Two
Liri laughed only to make Aumida pout some more, which in turn continued to make Liri laugh. It had been some time since Liri had met a woman so over conscious of her nudity. It was nice.
Walking over to the edge, Liri looked out over the land and sighed. There were things that just had to be done.
She took in an eyeful of Aumida and was impressed. The girl wasn’t butch and honestly seemed like she’d fit better as a bar wench than as a warrior. But the way she swung that axe around...
Liri: How long have you been training for? These don’t seem like the muscles of an amateur…
Aumida: I’ve been swinging this axe for a few hours now, nothing much. But I’ve been training to be a warrior for about—WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?!
Liri had gone over to Aumida and pressed herself against the warrior. She felt her soft skin, toned abs and her supple breasts and again was impressed.
Liri: Here I was thinking you were some bimbo who got beat and her armor got beat up, but with this body… you can wear whatever you want and kick some ass.
Aumida backed away from Liri and stared at her. A rush of emotions painted her face as she tried to comprehend what Liri’s game was. Eventually the brush settled for anger.
Aumida: What in the fuck are you doing? I-I don’t swing that way!!
Liri: Neither do I, I’m always down for a bit of experimentation.
Part Three
Liri winked at her and began to draw forward, but Aumida retreated slightly and brandished her weapon.
Aumida: L-listen slut, I don’t know who you’ve been getting your skooma from, but you need to lay off it for a while. Make another move at me and your head will roll.
Aumida: Make another move at me and your head will roll.
Instead of feeling intimidated, especially with her current state of powerlessness, Liri began to laugh uncontrollably.
Liri: (This… this is normal. People fearing me, fling insults my way, being put off enough to the point where they point their weapons at me wanting me dead…)
Aumida: What are you laughing about? I’ll really kill you! Don’t think I’m a pushover just because I—
Liri: You remind me so much of Jensgr when we first met. So strong headed, so innocent, but so serious. I played with him that day and we both almost died…
Liri: Even if I wanted… even if I could, I won’t make that mistake today.
Part Four
Aumida: What do you mean, ‘even if I could’? Do you honestly think you can take me? I’d break you in half before you could blink.
Liri: Aye. With the way I am now, there’s no reason that’s not entirely possible if not probable.
Liri: (I... I can't do this... I can't kill her...) You should probably go. I've got to get going myself anyways.
Aumida: Huh? Why'd you change up all of a sudden? Why are you all somber? What're you scheming?
Liri: (Well I WAS planning to kidnap you and feed you to my "Master" but I took a liking to you.) No xhemes. It's just, you'll get hurt if you're around me. It's best if you didn't get involved.
Liri made a break for Solitude before Aumida could utter a word. It was better this way. Aumida wasn’t prepared for death, and Liri honestly hoped she never would be for it would be at her hand.
It didn’t take Liri long to return and she wasn’t empty handed. On the way back she was able to swoon an obnoxious farmer that was on his way to the Jarl. So everything wasn’t a complete waste.
Part Five
Liri opened the door and this time she wasn’t greeted by anyone. It’s not like she expected the same people to be here, but at the same time… nobody? Not even a maid?
Liri: Hello? Is anyone home?
Farmer: Listen, if no one is here to pay me I’ll just be on my—
???: There is no escape for you mortal.
Liri turned around in time to see the farmer get his chest pierced through by a giant of a man.
There was no time to run, no time to think. The giant was on her before she could even process that the farmer was dead. He gripped her by the throat and lifted her off the ground.
???: Where is she?
Liri: *cough* *cough* W-w-whooo…
???: The warrior. My sister’s meal!
There was no escape, Liri knew that. She knew that she'd never be able to escape them as she was... But for them to watch her in the daytime? Impossible!
Part Six
The giant threw Liri across the room sending her crashing into the wall.
It was then that she truly realized how powerless she was, how utterly dependent on magic she was. She thought herself as strong as untouchable, but one little collar changed everything…
???: I’ll ask you again, WHERE IS THE WARRIOR!?!!
His voice resonated within Liri, and shook her to her core. This man was a predator, a beast. There was no hiding anything from him, and like it or not, Aumida’s days were numbered.
Liri: I-I… I made a tactical retreat. I knew that I couldn’t take her on, so I thought to double back and ambush her when I found that… walking to the palace.
???: Where is she?!
Liri: When I was coming back to Solitude, I saw her going towards the docks. She still might be there if you—
...
When Liri woke up she saw the giant looming over her, waiting for her to make that mistake again. But she wasn’t that foolish.
Liri: …I don’t know if she stopped there, but she was heading for Dragon Bridge. I swear that's all I know...
Part Seven
The man looked her up and down for a few seconds before laughing.
???: Dumb bitch thought she could hide the truth from Foran? Silas, Tinira, Yslif… You three have no idea what you’re doing…
After bucking at Liri and seeing her flinch, Foran walked off deeper into the house, leaving Liri totally alone.
Liri didn’t know how many minutes had passed before she moved. It was like time had stopped, no, more like her body had shut down from everything that had happened.
When she next moved, the only thing she could do was cry. She didn’t want to do so in front of those maids or the vampires, but with no one watching, she just let the tears flow.
Once the tears stopped flowing, even though her emotions were still freely gushing out, Liri got up and left the house.
She knew the punishment would be severe, she knew that she might not make it through the night, but she didn’t care. There was no way she could stay another moment in that place and keep her sanity.
And so Liri began to walk absentmindedly around Solitude, unconsciously making sure to stay within a reasonable range of the hose so not to be shocked by her collar.
Part Eight
After some time Liri snapped and screamed, making people either give her strange looks or shy away, but she didn’t care either way.
Liri: They’re training me… they’re literally fucking training me! Tinira, Yslif, Foran… they’re making it so I can’t get adjusted to any of their styles!
Liri wanted so bad to zap something, anything, but she wasn’t dumb enough to try it especially with so many people around to see her fail.
Minutes passed like seconds and before Liri knew it, it was dark, meaning her ‘Masters’ could come out and play.
But Liri wasn’t worried. What’s the worst they could do to her? Kill her? She knew that from day one. So unless they did so, all she probably had to handle was a beating or two.
Liri: Y-yeah, that’s not too bad…
???: So you’re finally up and about my pet? Sorry for neglecting you, and leaving you to those animals. But don’t worry, I’m here now.
