The Story of the Red Witch
Chapter Six: Bonds
Part One
Liri: This voice… so there are at least four of you?

???: Don’t worry my pet. I’m the last of Clan Volstikar, for now.

Liri turned and when she saw his face she knew. Knew somehow without using logic that this was the man that had knocked her out in Blackreach. Her better.

Liri: You say not to worry but you’re just like them, Silas. A monster, a kidnapper, a… coward.

Silas: Coward? Oh right. *snaps his finger* Is that better?

Feeling the absence of the collar around her neck, Liri immediately began shooting lightning at the vampire without regard to those around.

Liri: DIE YOU VAMPIRE SCUM!!!!

She continued to pelt magic at him until she wore herself out and was sure that there was nothing left of the vampire.

Liri: Haa… haa… I don’t know how vampires work, but if somehow you’re not dead… at least you won’t be moving for a while. Now, I’ve got to get out of here before—!!

Part Two
Silas: So, you’re just going to cut and run? Typical mortal.

Liri: H-how!?! I gave you everything I had without tearing this city apart! T-there’s no way that you should still be standing!!

And yet he was, with not as much as a scratch on him.

Silas: So you’ve gotten your magic back? Big deal, witch. As long as you’re so one dimensional you’ll never be able to escape the grip of Clan Volstikar.

Silas: That is, unless you become mine.

Liri: Be… become yours?

Silas: *nods* All you have to do is prove to me that you’re loyal to me and me alone, and I’ll give you more power than any mortal could dream of.

Silas: I’m guessing you’ve made up your mind. Good. Now then I need you to do something for me. Something that’ll help advance my station.

Part Three
After hearing him out, Liri waited until daybreak and headed out towards Dragon Bridge. She arrived there just as the guards switched shifts. Greeting a few of them she waited for her target to show.

Liri: Haa… I mean I guess I could use a good sunbathing, but when is this bastard going to show?

Silas wanted her to take out one of his sibling’s informants. And she had to make a mess of things without anyone finding out who she was. This didn’t mean she couldn’t be seen.

Liri: Haa… I swear if I get a tan I’m going to punch Silas. What did I do to deserve this…

She continued to wait for the informant. Silas didn’t give her any details other than he’d be easily recognizable as a vampire agent.

However this “easily recognizable” agent seemed to have avoided her thus far and it was starting to get under the Nord’s skin.

Liri: (Is he trying to test my profiling abilities as well as how well I can follow instructions? The bastard… I’ll definitely kill him. Him and the rest of his clan. Just you wait…)

???: You!!

Part Four
Liri turned around and saw the young adventurer from yesterday standing there beaming at her.

Liri: Oh, Aumida was it?

Aumida: You remembered me! I felt really weird after you left yesterday and I wanted to clear some things up between us if I ever saw you again.

Liri: There’s nothing to clear up. You don’t even know my name. *raises eyebrow* So, you’re not going to go adventuring today? You don’t seemed to be dressed the part.

Aumida: No… After Lucari left and hadn’t been heard from in months, the elders and the Imperials don’t really want people out traveling especially if it’s for “leisure”.

Liri: Wait, weren't you "adventuring" yesterday? And who's Lucari?

Aumida: She was the best archer to ever come out of Dragon Bridge. Some thought that whenever this whole war got settled that she’d end up serving under the High King or Queen.

Aumida: We were the best of friends… both want to become heroes in our time. But… When she left I couldn’t help but feel upset about it…

Liri: (I didn’t ask to know all of that… Gods, you’re way too open) I see… Anyway, has anyone been acting suspiciously around you in particular? Especially after we ended up meeting?

Aumida: I mean, one of the guards came to my room last night. But he said that they were doing an inspection making sure there were no thieves or suspect characters about.

Part Five
Liri: (That’s suspicious in itself…) Do you know the name of the guard?

Aumida: *shakes head* I was too tired to remember who it was, just that it was a guard. Why do you want to know any of this anyways?

Liri: N-no reason.

Aumida: I see… well then. I’ve got to be going! Talos guide you, but don’t tell the Imperials I said that.

Liri: . . . (She’s too kind to go exploring in the harshness of Skyrim, and if this Lucari is anything like her I fear she may no longer be in the realm of the living.)

Liri: So a guard…

Liri began to take a greater notice of the guards walking about Dragon Bridge, but none of them stood out too much.

After inspecting them for a while, she didn’t know whether Aumida’s information was credible or if the faux-adventurer had dreamt up the whole thing.

Liri: This is pointless… The more I think about it, the more I feel like Silas is setting me up. ‘Kill one of my sibling’s informants,’ why in the world would he sabotage his own clan? Unless…

???: Hold there woman! I’d like to talk to you.

Part Six
Liri: (Taking the bait like a sucker) Is there a problem?

Guard: I’ve seen you wandering about, looking suspicious, asking questions, lollygagging… What are you up to?

Liri: (Let’s test him) Oh, that. Well you see, I’ve got it on good authority that there is a vampire agent within the guard.

Guard: Vampires? Ha! You shouldn’t believe those stories girl.

He walked off laughing, leaving Liri even more frustrated than before.

Liri: (Are you serious!? It wasn’t him? What am I going to have to do to get this bastard to sho—)

Suddenly Liri was pulled behind a building and when she saw who had done it, she was more than amused.

???: You can’t even keep your mouth shut. Stupid girl.

Liri: Silas, what are you doing? How are you even out in the daytime? Shouldn’t you be burnt to ashes or something?

Silas: You really think I’m like the rest of those fuckers? I’m a Volstikar in name only. And I’ve more than enough malice for them for the both of us.

Part Seven
Liri: Really now? You seem to be just like them to me. Using your otherworldly strength to get us mere mortals to do whatever you wish.

Silas: You really think you could just walk away after I’ve chosen you? Even if I wanted to release you, Tinira would never allow you to live. She’d chase you all over Nirn until she destroyed you.

Liri didn’t know how, but she could tell that Silas was being completely honest with her. She hoped it wasn’t his power over her talking, but she wasn’t sure.

Liri: Let’s say I believe you. What now? How are we going to take them down? If I couldn’t put a scratch on you, how am I supposed to be able to do anything to the others?

Silas: *flexes* I’ve got that covered. I may not look it, but I’m way more durable than the others in more ways than one. Even more so than that brute Foran.

Liri *giggles* Durable you say? Heh, I think you’re just more full of yourself than the others. I’m sure I could do things to you that’s have you begging me to stop.

Silas: *grins* Oh you will, will you? How about you try me now?

Liri felt her knees quake as Silas looked her in the eyes and drew closer to her. He then grabbed her close to him and pulled her in for a kiss that made Liri all but lose her breath.

After seeing the effect he had on her, Silas lifted Liri off her feet and the two of them continued to kiss feverishly without regard to their surroundings.
