Skyrim Modding Diary - 17 March 2022 - Part 2

I have a little mini update before I call it a night. After I finished the main diary entry earlier, I poked around the Nexus a bit and found an interesting SSE mod in the LE Nexus of all places. I subsequently came across two more mods while I was browsing Reddit, and as such got a couple more additions today.

Botox Cocktail

If you've been following my diary for a while, you know that I installed Botox for Skyrim very early in my load order - before even the High Poly NPC Project - to catch any NPCs that none of my other mods were touching and that were still getting vanilla facegen. This has worked well for its intended role, but I always like to draw on more than one author's NPC work so that I can have more variety in my game world. While idly looking at the LE Skyrim Nexus, I discovered My Enemy Wizards, which in spite of its hosting location actually contains both LE and SSE versions. Like Botox, this mod is a facegen-only replacer that does not include a plugin, so it doesn't require any patching. I put it immediately after Botox in my load order and observed that it touched a number of NPCs who aren't getting facegen from any of my more in-depth overhauls. This author actually has a whole catalog of facegen replacers, and I grabbed a few others; however, they had far less impact on my game, most only impacting one or two actors.

More ENB Lights

Maybe you've noticed, but I like ENB particle lighting mods. So I was delighted when I saw the author of Misc Effects for ENB Light post about this mod's release on Reddit. This mod enhanced a number of meshes to use complex particle lights, including one mesh that features extensively in Legacy of the Dragonborn. I'm looking forward to seeing the improvement in-game!

Unique Weapons for Rigmor

You might recall from earlier when I came across a more limited mod that added a single unique sword and amulet to Rigmor of Bruma. Today I discovered this mod, which adds custom models for all the unique weapons in that pair of mods. The author helpfully notes that both patches (one for Rigmor of Bruma and one for Rigmor of Cyrodiil) are ESL flagged, which will save me some time during installation.

I'm expecting to see some conflicts with Rigmor Weapons Replacer, a mod that I like, so I do expect I'll be allowing some of the records this mod adds to be overwritten. In fact, if it is fully conflicted (i.e., adding nothing new) by RWR, I'll uninstall the ROB patch and only keep the ROC one - which should be all new content. OK, so looking in xEdit we can see that only four items are conflicted (the ones in pink):

Looking over the conflicts, I prefer the Khajiit Longbow and Scourge in their RWR versions. However, I like ROBUA's take on Xenia's Wrath better, so I'll allow that one to prevail. You can see below how the three items I forwarded from RWR now have red text, showing that ROBUA is losing its conflict on those lines.

There's a different conflict with the ROC patch - it adds a custom sword for Count Camaeus... but I already independently gave him a different custom sword some time ago. I'm just going to let him keep the one I gave him and instead turn his custom sword into an alternate shape for the sword his troops use (his ROCUA sword is very similar in style to what his troops use anyway). I don't have time to do this work tonight - this really is just a mini update - but I've added it to my to-do list to loop back onto later. For now, here you can see the regular Silver Elven Sword using this mod's custom model.

Anyway, just wanted to share those new additions. See you all tomorrow! Our revised finishing count is 1,520 mods installed, 1,519 plugins active, and a final load order index of EC.
