Godis 01 - A Young Woman Comes to Solitude
Godis is a young Nord woman who's recently come to the capital from the outlying country.
She doesn't have much in terms of advantages - no wealth, no skills, no family connections to speak of. But she's young and healthy and the menfolk seem to like her.
Godis likes the menfolk as well, and with no better prospects she's come to where there's more of them in the hopes of earning an easy living on her back.
"You'll need a license to work my inn, sunshine. But when you get one, do come back."
Whoring, it turns, out is not as simple as she told herself it would be, back when she was on the farm.
"Honey, you're young, you're strong... you seem bright too. You're wasted being a prostitute... come with me. I'll teach you how to survive in Skyrim, on your own terms."
Maya is a brave adventurer who's taken a liking to Godis. She wants to take the young Nord under her wing.
"I don't know... it sounds dangerous," Godis replies. But it also sounds exciting.
Godis goes up to the palace to obtain the license. Turns out there are a bunch of requirements that will take both time and money. What a hassle.
While at the palace, Godis meets a woman - another adventurer - who calls herself Lady Katheryne.
"Darling... you're a friend of Maya's? That's wonderful! She's a wonderful woman! If she says you can become an adventurer then you must be special! You'd be a fool not to take her up on the offer darling!"
Godis stops by the Temple of the Seven on her way back to the Winking Skeever. She spends her remaining money on an amulet to Dibella. Maybe the goddess will help her get what she's looking for?
"I'd love to be with a big strong man like you...."
It's true. She's batting her eyes, smiling, flirting and it's all natural. She would in fact like to bed this strong warrior - for appropriate payment, a girl's gotta eat and all - but...
"... I'm not allowed. I don't have a license and I'm too afraid of breaking the rules. It's so silly, isn't it?"
Who'd have thought it'd be so tough to become a whore?
And so the decision is made.
Godis borrows some money from the inn keeper. The terms are steep, and the consequences for not paying back are probably unpleasant.
It makes sense, though. If adventuring works out, it should be easy to pay back. If she is killed, debt won't matter. And if adventuring doesn't work out but she survives she'll be able to use some of the left over money to sort out the prostitution license.
She doesn't mind keeping whoring as a fall-back plan. It's why she came to Solitude in the first place. Still... if somehow she can become as confident as Maya or as mysteriously powerful as Lady Katheryn, wouldn't that be something?
She purchases a few necessities with the money, saving the rest.
"Maya... I'm ready... if you'll still have me?" Godis is nervous. This feels like a big step. Bigger than when she walked through the gates of Solitude, thinking she'd become a whore.
"Of course I will Godis. Glad to have you. The three of us will set out immediately."
"Lady Katheryne? She's joining us? That's great news!"
"Indeed. We'll be investigating some possibly necromantic activity for Jarl Elisif. I thought it prudent to bring a mage of some sort for support... and Lady Katheryne is very competent."
"Oh I don't doubt it. She seems really nice."
