new furniture: seat of almalexia

legend says that this device was originally designed by the dwemer king dumac and given to nerevar as a gift when he wed almalexia. it is said dumac thought she had a bit of an attitude. maybe he was right, as she later became known as the lady of mercy.

started the furniture system

started on the craftable, placable, movable furniture system today. which is technically the heart of what dmse is going to be about. the cheater menu is really just for testing. you place them the same way as you did in oldrim: craft the thing, attempt to equip it, that places it in the world in front of you. then it can be moved around just like how i was dragging lydia around in the video last week.     got some help from the nifskope guy trying to solve some collision is

defining new poses

this time around poses can be added via a json file, so no scripting needs to be recompiled to add new categories and poses. this is far from the finished menu i havent done categories yet. this should make it quite a bit easier for anyone who may want to add new poses to do so.

positioning part 2

made little platforms so you could see where the original position was and get the orientation just right. the promise of "fallout-like positioning" in skyrim

it is not as smooth as i would like, still trying to smooth out the performance. but the concept is working. when move mode is enabled you hit (X) which is "ready/sheath weapons" to pick them up and drop them, and you can rotate her with [LT] and [RT] which is left attack and right attack. it will also have an undo ability, so if you decide to cancel the move they will snap back to where you had them.     dmse-position_new.webm

new furniture: chapel of dibella

fancy name for a simple device - a chrome impaler that is slightly too tall for the victim to relax upon comfortably, bolted to the floor it is going nowhere. the arms are locked into a boxtie with some metal cuffs.

new furniture: saint alessia's perch

i had posted a tease of this furniture on tumblr a long while back when mod organizer was broken on windows 10, so i could never get it in game to test. tonight i had streamed the final stages of getting it in game on plexstorm, and this is the final result. i am calling it the "saint alessia's perch" (article about alessia)

nio hh cancel is blazing fast

while not new nor innovative feature, got nioverride high heel cancel/restoring working. its the thing that will nullify the offset added to high heels that way the animations still line up with the furniture without having to take your shoes off. special edition though constantly surprises me with how fast it does scripting things. used to this taking a few frames such that you can see the actor bounce up and down, but in sse its just like wham done. probably has something to do with how sse ac

animated equip lighting hack

found an ok hack to fix the lighting on animated equips. if you haven't seen it before, the bug is that sometimes when a pose is selected and that pose includes animated equips, such as bondage furniture, sometimes, the furniture loads in... dark. here i was testing it on delay but its been elaborated since.     you don't really notice it so much on the ZAP furniture because not many of them are using environment and specular maps, and the bug is that, from what i can tell, e

neat headtracking discovery

Found a way to enable head tracking but still keep the torso locked in place. This adds a lot of life to the furniture where it is safe to allow the head to move without breaking the alignment when NPCs try to crane their back all the way around to look at you. It's a FNIS trick.

testing sse's papyrusutil actorutil package overrides

alright, i got lydia locked up in the basement to test SSE’s PapyrusUtil’s ActorUtil’s actor package overrides. will leave her there a few days and see what happens. if she hasn’t moved then we are good to push forward on Display Model for SSE.

blog purpose

display model for special edition, or dmse, is a complete rebuild of display model for special edition. i am dropping zap as a dependency and redesigning the entire thing to be more like my furniture system in the current display model without the limitations i self imposed to work with the zap animations. between zap and sse just being better, i hope to have some pretty crazy features never before seen for doing the stupid things we do here.   tumblr and everything else is really piss
