About the blog, yeah I need to unlock some posts like the pics and CC find, I wanna keep the uploads page without comment b/c I feel like the thread would get very long and I hope someone would come to me if they need anything or have a problem. Also when you submit a blog post you get thrown in with every other game in the feed and I was worried about ppl from other games coming over and critiquing although I doubt it would really happen. I was just a little timid when I was posting I didn't see a lot of other blogs for sims 4 lool I almost forgot to say this : IT'S TIME TO LET THE DICK SHINE! 1
crabb Posted July 24, 2018 Author Posted July 24, 2018 Some people brought up the normal map for the body a while back. just letting you know its easy enough to do on a naked body, but getting it to work with clothes will require a workaround. Problem is: If you have a body with a normal map on it, equipping any regular top/bottom/outfit piece of clothing will replace your body mesh with the body mesh that's attached to the clothes. So unless that piece of clothing you equip has the normal map you want on the skin too, you are going to lose that normal texture you had, and get whatever normal map the creator made for those clothes. Normal meshes are only applied to the exact mesh you assign them to, they don't carry over to the body mesh attached to the clothes. ? So, adding a custom skin normal map for every article of clothing = Huge hassle and that's why we haven't seen it yet. I have a theory that could work, but I will need someone with a softer hand in blender.

Overwrite your old files. If you were wearing crystal 1/2/3 they will now show up as 6/7/9 Thanks!

crabb Posted August 31, 2018 Author Posted August 31, 2018 hello guys! I just want to share an update with my future plans for this. Mainly so I can commit to doing them now and stop putting it off --- I'll be renaming sim shine #1 and #2 to Sim Shine "Smooth" adding several levels of strength similar to what I've done with Crystal in the last update. --- I'll be taking another look at Crystal. You may have noticed a slight change in the shine from Crystal 1-9, I increased the level of specular drop-off meaning - the point of reflection is less broad I may do something like a Sim Shine Crystal "B" or name it something else, and revert to the old specular levels, no promises though I'll also be seeing what I can do to reduce the file size --- I will be adding extra swatches probably in one of the categories of skin detail or tattoo so that you can keep a low level of sim shine on all your outfits --- A sim shine sweat has been long overdue. My plans for this is to make an A, B, and C, version. I still need a cool name, it's been bugging me That's about it- thanks! Reduced file size. -- You can keep your old version (Crystal 1-9) *version 1.0.6 is a new package* 1

I will share what I did here, maybe someone will come along and correct me. I'd also ask that you start up a new thread @parzysty if you want to continue this topic. Spoiler This is a hat that removes the existing head and gives the sim a new one with different properties. The new head mesh is enabled for transparency and blends with the sims current skintone. in the warehouse tab S4S CAS Part: excludepartflags set to '0000000000000008' > removes the head http://sims4studio.com/thread/10175/excludepartflags-information composition method set to 3 > texture blends to skintone Geometry: shader: simglass > enabled for transparency Mesh: default head Studio tab texture: ~75% brightness ~75% opacity If I knew how to fix this I would try to continue with this method, but I am stumped for now. There is something else that might work. The 'mesh cutting' that people use to prevent hair from sticking out of hats may be used to remove the default head and put a new one in its place.
