Hey, back again...

I reinstalled skyrim into (C:)Games instead of program files using step and changed which mods I use. The enb suggested by step just doesn't work; I went through the process of installing, tweaking and configuring multiple times to make absoluetly sure I got it right, including redoing it after I noticed problems the first time, but the same infinite loading screens and graphical glitches remained, so I ended up just rgoing back to default skyrim. I still have some unresponsiveness, but it's still way less than before, and I can live with it as long as it doesn't get worse.

I haven't done a bashed patch yet, because I wanted to make sure I had the mods I wanted before I did so. It seems like all are working, except for "Inhabitants of Skyrim", which I'm using as a replacement for "ultimate NPC Overhaul 2" which I found was causing a huge amount of unresponsive loading screen problems.

I noticed with both npc replacers, only some npcs changed. Even in inhabitants, which only changes unique npcs, some of those still look vanilla.

I made a point of making sure I have the right patches this time around, including a usleep patch for inhabitants, so the issue with usleep mentioned in the replacer's faq shouldn't be an issue. I do have ethereal elves installed as well, but the mod page said that would simply overwrite the elves appearance, not make the mod non-functional.

I sorted with LOOT and it has no errors. MO isn't logging into nexus, so everything was downloaded manually and therefore isn't categorized, if that makes any difference. I also tried moving it up and down in the load order, but it didn't fix it. It's not a big issue compared to all the problems before, but I still hope I can get it to work.

I do have papyrus installed and the logs enabled in the skyrim documents ini, but it hasn't given me any logs, maybe because the game hasn't crashed? Maybe I'm just doing something dumb.

Load Order here:

Utilities here:

SKSE 1.3.7, LOOT 0.9.2, TES5edit 3.2.1, MO 1.3.11, FNIS 7.4.4, Save Game Script Cleaner 2.06, Wrye Bash 307.2

It's good that you are making progress.

The ENB - which ENB do you mean, ENBoost?

Your load order is still screwed. Are you running LOOT from inside MO? And are you using LOOTand not MO 'sort'? My version of LOOT gives 0.12.5

I've never used Wrye Bash, never seen the point or felt the need, so I can't help there.

If MO catagorisation is the same as NMM's then it doesn't matter, it's just there to help you keep track of your mods.

I've never used Inhabitants, which hasn't been updated since 2014, a bit too vanilla looking for me. Anyway, until you get your load order sorted I would ignore it for now.

So, in short, we need to find out what's going wrong with the ENB and LOOT.

Edit: I've just been reading up on the Skyrim Project Optimisation.esm thing. Personally I wouldn't bother with it. It was designed for low-end machines in 2013 and has not been updated since 2014. It only touches interior locations and the performance hike was minimal. There are lots of other mods and tweaks that have appeared since 2013 which affect interiors and exteriors if needed (including ENBoost).

I was trying to use M enb (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/54684), and following this video for install and cofigure (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHCYoVB8P_Y) tho like I said, took it out. Was that the wrong one to use?

I'm running loot from inside MO, just like before, and also using the mo sort button each time I use loot, too. I also reinstalled loot just to be sure. Could the issue be with MO, since it has that other problem not letting me link to me nexus account and download straight from there?

Also, what npc replacer do you use? The one I used before replaced all npcs, which I like better, but maybe it's for the best since inhabitants seems less hard on my comp (GPU and Disk usage still spike pretty bad, but not as bad or for as long as before). If there's a newer and more reliable npc replacer I could use I'd be up for it, less vanilla or no, if I can get it to work properly. It's just that I've started a new game every time I've added or removed something, rather than done so on one character and hoped for the best like last time; even with the cheat mods I use to catch back up, it gets kinda tiring to do it over and over, you know?

How would I go about fixing load order, since I already use loot and mo sort? I've also looked up proper load order config online and tried to follow that for other stuff I ran into which it helped me fix (page here: https://bethesda.net/community/topic/5795/how-to-load-order), and I've always run loot and sort after every change I've made.

When I reinstall mo, can I just save the mod folder in there that has everything (in skyrim > mod organizer > mods) first and then transfer it in afterwards, or do I have to re-install all mods manually again? And is there a particular way to uninstall mo? When I did it last time, even tho I used the uninstall exe, it still seemed to leave a lot behind. Should I not use and installer?

(Sorry if my questions are dumb, just trying to make sure I cover all bases)

I don't use an ENB myself, just ENBoost. I would suggest leaving out the ENB at least until you get everything else sorted and settled down.

I don't use MO but I'm pretty sure you don't need to touch the sort button if you have LOOT installed properly. Vids by Gopher or the GamerPoets will show you how it's done. If the load order is anywhere near correct then Alternate Start should be at the very botton of the list with maybe only a patch or two below it.

I can't log-in to Nexus via NMM at the moment. Been like that for a few days now. No idea why and don't know if it's related to your problem.

For females I use Dames of Skyrim and Fair Skin Complexion; for males SOS body and Better Faces. They cover about everyone except cats n lizards.

Out of interest, what VRAM and RAM do you have?

So:

1. Get MO installed and working properly (if it isn't already)

2. Get LOOT, TESVEdit etc installed correctly in MO.

3. Get ENBoost and the S.T.E.P. tweaks done correctly.

4. Start a new game with a minimal number of mods. (no need to uninstall the others, just untick them in MO).

12GB RAM, 2048VRAM. I also used the nvidia control pannel to make sure skyrim always uses my high-performance graphics card.

If that's the case then yeah, probably a nexus site problem not related to my game issues. One less suspect for the issue.

I have a feeling whatever's going on is related to consistent older people, which seems to screw over practically every appearance or npc-related mod. I only have it because opulent outfits outifts requires it, and I can give that up if I really need to. Also, I always have alt start as the last thing on my load order, so don't think that's the issue. Is there a mod that replaces npc hair on it's own? If there is, I could just take out inhabitants and rely on the appearance mods I already use (Better Males + Women of Skyrim + Ethereal Elves) to cover the different races' skins.

According to the load order text file you posted earlier, AS LAL is half-way up your list.

You need to stop dicking about with mods until you get the fundamentals sorted out.

You said you are running v0.9.2 of LOOT whereas I'm running 0.12.5 - have you addressed that yet?

Have you run LOOT from MO without using MO's sort feature? What happened to your load order if you did?

Have you got ENBoost set up correctly? (and you will need it with a 2Gb video card)

I went back and checked, and the loot version I put down was a typo. I am on loot 12.5. I'm sorry about that, I was rushing, but I'll be more careful about my typing from now on.

When you mentioned AT LAL being up so high, that didn't make any sense to me either. I went back to loot, and it hadn't updated the order in mo last time I hit sort and then apply. It looks like it hasn't properly registered any changes after multiple sortings for some time now, before I even tried to add the npc replacer--that's why it's saying AS LAL is in the middle of load order. That's where it was when I first downloaded it, and before I moved it to the bottom right after installing it.

I tried running loot again, but it doesn't seem to have added the plugin for inhabitants of skyrim to the loot list at all, either.

I've restarted mo and loot and tried again, but the plugins in loot didn't update with any of the recent the masterlist updates, and nothing was applied to mo after hitting apply.

I didn't run into any issues downloading or installing it or mo, and both it and mo start up and function without showing any errors, but it's clearly not working right. When I installed it, I followed the download path and installation steps that are used in the gamerpoets video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I35nNK8PWlw&t=441s), including setting up the executable in mo.

I attached the loot debug log below, if that helps. I also have a copy of the mo mod order below, too, the list goes from last plugin to first.

Thank you for spotting that. I'm used to taking it for granted that loot is working, and only looking over mo's plugin order. I only recently even started using mo's sort function at all together with loot's.

I've no idea what is going on with your MO and LOOT.

That modlist means nothing to me as I don't use MO.

What about ENBoost, is that working properly?

If he uses MO he must sort his left side to and manually, dont let MO fix it for you. It will create other issues. Dont use LOOT that comes whit MO, it is so old that it cant correct detect newer mods.

As other did say run Standalone LOOT from inside MO.

There is also one updated MO1 that works whit Nexus now, you can find it in the download section of MO2.
