Hello all

I have been trying to find a mod to make stahrim  use the glass perk insted of the Ebony one on the Smithing tree. But i cant find one. So i thought of making it my self in the CK . But I don't know how. Does anyone know how i could do this?

Thank you

The ability to forge or temper Stalhrim armor and weapons is hidden in the "constructible object " parts of the CK.

There you´ll find all the new recipes for Stalhrim.

Each one of them hast the condition to have the "ebony smithing" perk.

change all these conditions to "glass smithing" and you´ll be able to build them with the glass perk.

Remember; there´s an other condition, that requires you to have the Quest "A new source of stalhrim" to be completed.

The "Stalhrim Material Type" is reflected by diverese other perks and has the purpose to define under which conditions you can reach the best tempering result (like "fine" or "legendery")

Something to do with the material type, I would think. Have you tried looking at in x-edit? Things make more sense to me there.

Thanks

Thanks for the answers  . I was able to  to change the material requirement from ebony to glass and i am now able to craft it but i can't figure out how to change the tempering requirement  to archive legendary. Could you please elaborate more?

The tempering quality is based on a rather complicated mathematic funcion. (See here under "Item Quality" in Smithing )

Mainly depending on your smithing skill.

But as I said;

"The "Stalhrim Material Type" is reflected by diverese other perks and has the purpose to define under which conditions you can reach the best tempering result (like "fine" or "legendery")"

And so your skill in tempering stalhrim is boosted by the factor "2" through "advanced armor", "elven armor" and of course "ebony armor" (maybe some other smithing perks, too)

Thank you for your answer  . I apologise, my question was not clear enough. I understand what you mean to say, that essentially more perks   are required to reach "legendary" quality when improving  with stalhrim than other materials . My question really is: is there a way to change this with the CK ? i.e to make it a able to reach "Legendary " by using only the perks in the light armor side of Smithing and not "ebony smiting"  for example ?

Of course!

search the "Stalhrim" keyword in the CK, right click it and check the "used by" menu.

Then look for amors, weapons and perks.

One way is to remove the "stalhrim" keyword from all weapons and armors and then have it replayced with something easy like the "iron" keyword

The other way is to edit the smithing perks; check them for the "stalhrim" keyword and change the "multiply value" entry from factor "2" to something more bigger.

That did it! Thanks a lot ;)
