Aesthetics and graphics good; settlements, forts, caves dungeons etc good; clutter and whatnot good; creatures and animals good; NPCs (female) about 99% good; NPCs (male) undecided. Not got my army of follower activated yet. There's some stuff I want to do in XEdit before I cry havoc and let slip all my followers. *Or as I like to think of it - Ole Gunnar Solstheim.

Grey Cloud Posted February 5 Posted February 5 (edited) Wow! I did some jiggery-pokery with graphicky stuff and it made things better instead of worse. In fact it made things a whole lot better. 😲 Then just to put the icing on the cake, Community Shaders waded in with an update and things got better still. Skyrim 1.5.97. Screen Res 2560 x 1440. Refresh Rate 165Hz. Borderless windowed. 3.57GB out of 7.20GB VRAM used. 2K textures. Community Shaders and all the add-ons. Parallax or CPM everywhere. No light mod used (other than the CS gubbins). Candle flame a flickering and flags a fluttering. In the screenshot - FPS avg 56 FPS; post-Frame Gen 110-115. Previously I was getting about 50-55 FPS indoors and 40-50 outdoors on 1920 x 1080 at 60Hz without FG I've not checked outside yet, I'll be doing that later. Edit: Half an hour after the above post and I've broken my game. Bombing out when I try to load a save. ☹️ 🤣 It will give me the chance to sort out my left and right panes in MO2 among other things. I have my suspicions about a culprit but I don't want to be casting nasturtiums. This one is iron if you are wondering.

Grey Cloud Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Looks like this is going to be a recurring theme in my Skyrim. On the road from Morthal to Dawnstar and came across Avulstein Gray-Mane battling with Thalmor. Did the MIA quest ages ago and I did it via console. No sign of Thorvald this time. 🤷♂️

Something I've noticed in all my years of Skyrim (since LE) is that every time you see a world encounter between Stormcloaks and Imperials, it's usually a toss-up to see who will win, but every time you see a clash between Altmer and Stormcloaks, more than 90 percent of the time you'll see the Nords get their asses kicked. As Laila would say: "If he (Ulfric) were to be crowned High King, I'm not so certain it would be the golden age his followers expect." And no, I don't intend to start a debate about which group is the right one. I don't like the empire either and I don't give a damn about the civil war. Edited February 16 by 深淵の神

He is outnumbered at least 3-to-1 and at least of them is using magic.

I didn't mean to say this is the same, but it reminded me of what I've always witnessed, at least in my game where I haven't altered weapon or armor damage with mods. I'd say the combat scenarios are purely vanilla except for some animation improvements, but those affect everyone equally. 5 hours ago, Grey Cloud said: at least of them is using magic. From what I understand, in vanilla Skyrim, magic sucks since Skyrim LE (Only mods can balance this). In a fight between an NPC mage and an NPC weapon fighter, the mage is usually going to be completely useless. I think it has more to do with the difference in quality between elven equipment and the iron (sometimes steel) weapons that stormcloaks usually carry. Golden heavy Thalmor armor (or Glass) versus those ugly rags of light armor the stormcloaks wear. It seems that Skyrim is at its worst point for a civil war (or at least that's how Bugthesda portrayed it in the game) and only the Dovahkiin can tip the scales. Anyway, for me it was just an interesting observation I made. Cheers!
Grey Cloud Posted February 16 Posted February 16 My boy Mulgrew and one follower stepped into the Frozen Hearth. And then it kicked off. The altmer on the left took on the two humans. All 'agents' from the same mod (MINPCs). The fight took forever as they all had a shed load of potions. The male human was the last man standing. This shot also gives a better idea of how many were in the inn. 1
