Bashed Patch Help

So I've heard that using Wrye Bash can help with certain mod issues and since I have 188 mods I figured it may help. The game plays great, and it's not a hardware problem, but I get the famous ctd from loading any saved game. I have tried almost every trick on the internet, besides those that have people shouting "Don't do this!!!" after them, lol. I've also cleaned using TES5Edit, so Wrye Bash is kind of a final resort to keep all mods, since I really don't want to get rid of any of them (even though on an older computer that barely ran Skyrim I reached 255 limit and it still worked all together with these mods and, of course, more. Though in my eagerness to build the upgraded PC I forgot to backup the HDD and lost everything). Anyway, enough about the background, the load order and complete mod list, is below and I'm basically asking which mods can I toss into be patched all together in the Bashed Patch since Wrye Bash is only grabbing a fraction of them. Sorry about putting the complete mod list in pictures. Also if I don't answer right away, I may be on the PS4 (I know ew console, lol.) playing with friends, or asleep, but I thank you all ahead of time for taking the time to help me.

I have tried the Load Game CTD fix, but it still crashed. I figured using the Bashed Patch may reduce the load when starting loading into the world. I don't know which mods can all be put together, since I don't really ever use Wrye Bash. I know I've heard MO is somewhat better, but I really don't want to have to switch if I can just get it work through NMM.  If nothing else works, then I'll try MO.

Alternate start should be right at the bottom of you load order , If you do a bash patch that goes below alternate start . Looks like you are missing xpmse that goes directly above alternate start  .Look for clean saves on Nexus may help to start clean game . Giving the amount of mods you really should bash patch . Open the file at the bottom don't put it in data . This is an emb dill without using an EMB . Will help with memory as you may be running at to 2g, this will give you 4g .

So some of the mods I seem to have to turn on manually while in Skyrim, like Hunterborn. I decided to start a new character and just let the auto starting mods finish their setups before saving and loading that save. The game loaded just fine without any changes, except for me accidentally running loot not thinking about it. So it just seems like Bashed patch would really help, I just need help figuring out all mods that should be included in the patch since Wrye Bash doesn’t grab that many.

CTD on loading a savegame is a animation issue, it is exacerbated if you have a ton of animations through FNIS. A work around for that specific issue is to teleport to QASmoke right from the starting menu in order to properly load the animations.

Here is how you do it:

  • After the game started and you are on the main menu, activate the console and type coc QASmoke in it.
  • A load screen with occurs, then you'll find yourself in the test cell of skyrim with the default NPC.
  • Wait for a bit, so the script load unwind.
  • Hit escape, then load your proper savegame.

 

Wrye Bash's patch main use is to merge leveled lists. You may want to create a Merged Patch prior to the Bashed patch, here is how you do it.

 

You may want to resolve any conflict still existing in that merged patch. I'll leave that to your appreciation.

Well running through FNIS I do have 11,499 animations (9,544 for PC and 1955 for others) so I could see how that would be a lot of work restarting those animations on loading all at once. I know how to create the Patches, I just don't all know what of my mods should go together. Like how I have some mods that have patches for other mods for stability; would both mods, plus the patches included, all work in a patch? Plus things like DD with the different branch offs, could they be patched together? Bashed patch would literally only contain 7 or 8 mods, some small, but I know I could include more, just don't know if adding too many mods to the patch would mess the game up. If not, then I could try to add some mods, just going to have to figure out which ones, lol. Though thank you Kodama for helping me remember the test cell. I used it for SE when I was modding that game, before I figured out you could buy the original Skyrim even with Steam being sneaky in hiding it, but forgot the name.

 

(Although I'm going to try everyone's ideas, I get the feeling I've changed too much for the old saves to be relivable, with a Bashed Patch and such, so I'll most likely be starting over... Eh, I can hack back my levels, just hate requesting. -_-)

A CTD loading a save can also be caused my having too many scripts active at one time. Bring the game up and then load it the game tries to load all active scripts up at one time which many times will cause the game to crash. 

 

I have always done the start the game up when it hits the menu screen with the load/start new game I hit the ~ key and type in coc qasmoke and hit enter.

 

This will warp you to the games testing hall from there open your load menu up and select the save that you want to load up and it should load up if not then there is something that broke the save or corrupted it. Save cleaner might work to fix it.

Alright, so one last question that hasn't really exactly been answered, since I've gotten plenty about the ctd loading save. Do I just Bash Patch whatever it wants, or will I mess anything up by adding more mods for it to grab? Also doing the qasmoke, making sure all the mods are active through MCM, then loading the save didn't work. Though I'll probably just start over, cheating back the levels and go from there since I know how to insta-finish quests through multiple means. Though if you want to help me figure which mods can be in the Bashed Patch, or patched together in general, I'd be grateful. Otherwise the topic is generally finished and I thank you all for helping.

Some crap advice given so far.

Switching to MO will not help one bit if your installation is broken. MO will not fix anything - it's not its job.

Bashed patches wont fix something that is broken - again, not what they are for.

Some one else's ini files are no use to you - e.g. your hardware is probably different as is the software (mods).

 

Fix what is broken first. There is no point in messing around with bashed patches until you do.

First step, my default recommendation, use the S.T.E.P. guide (or similar) to get yourself a stable installation. This would include installing BethIni and ENBoost if you haven't already. Then think about adding mods.

Run LOOT and FNIS every time you add or remove a mod whether they are needed or not. Get into the habit - better to run them when not needed than not to when they are. The load order posted at the top of this thread is crying out for LOOT.

Yeah, the load order was what got me all green in Wrye Bash. I said I re-ran loot on accident, mainly because I already am in the habit of it. I've already used the ENBoost and it still didn't help the loading save ctd. Not to mention I do back up everything before even running anyone else's ideas. The hardware can't be the problem, and I've figured that since I have a massive collection of animations, scripts, and some heavy mods, the game may be crashing because it's not able to load everything from start up. I have started a new game, without any Patches, and using the coc method, allowing some of the stuff to activate, then loading helps. Though I still plan on trying to do a Bashed Patch to possibly alleviate some load pains, it's slow going having to re-look up all the mods to figure out which would work to be patched together into a Bashed Patch.

Sorry about not closing this out earlier, I got caught up in another game... I fixed this because it wasn't any mod conflicts, but was the excessive use of strings (?) which a few little tools, which their crashes proved it, shown that it was what caused my saves to be unloadable. I have recently fixed tit, and have decided to not mess with Hunterborn, meaning I just left it turned off meaning I never activated it through MCM. I did the Bashed Patch, but just let it grab what it wanted instead of customizing it. So the topic has been resolved and I will no longer be watching this thread.
