yaboiwut Posted June 16, 2019 Posted June 16, 2019 @Kythana I just found out to, that Validating in game files will cause you to have to repeat this.

But yah... hopefully soon as this is the last thing I need to play Skyrim... it's literally the Bases for a ton of Mods so sooner the better... btw will Bethesda ever give up on CC so we don't have to deal with this anymore?

For (almost) the first time, Bethesda alleges that there is new content in 1.5.80. No doubt not very much, but enough in their minds to deflect some of the criticism of useless CC junkdates.

fred200 Posted June 16, 2019 Posted June 16, 2019 Guessing you are referring to the new Skyrim SE DLC - that is CC? I will never see CC content. I have it blocked every way I can.

Neiro… Kite.... They put a ton of effort and time into their Mods. Bethesda just Rehashes and doesn't really bother to consider what people want. Hell... I was surprised they added the FONV Anti-Power Armor Rifle considering their Disdain for Obsidian but still was a lackluster quest from what I Saw

Since I couldn't care less, I didn't screenshot it. I'll go log in and see if it's still there. EDIT: Nope. Not there any more. I'm just devastated.

I guess nothing lasts forever but Bethesda is unlikely to give up on the CC any time soon. It makes them money, They could do the cc in such a way as to not break mods (at least not as many and not as often), but I guess they don't really care about that.

Calydor Posted June 16, 2019 Posted June 16, 2019 Decided tonight to update everything to go look at lots of lewd stuff. And of course I decide to do that right after a breaking update. Go me.

Nobody knew anything about any... "game update," or anything being broken or not working any more, and of course @Ashal had no plans to ever update SL again despite his posts in this very thread within the past few days stating that he was getting back to working on SL. You know how those mod authors lie... But now, Talos be praised, now that you have posted your nag/whine cogent alert ... well, of course, that changes everything! I'm certain Ashal will get right on it and rush it to completion for you, especially since it's the last thing on earth you'll ever need, or whatever you actually said to justify your redundant whining sharp-eyed situation detection. Here's "a ETA" you asked for: exactly 12:01 AM (GMT) on November 21 2020- I'm absolutely certain it will be done by then, so mark your calendar! Oh, and be sure to post a new nag/whine further thoughtful encouragement daily to spur Ashal along... and whatever you do, NEVER (ever) read any thread before posting redundantly thoughtfully into it- "that way lies madness" as they say. Thanks again for the heads up and prodding that lazy bum Ashal to get to work. Be sure to ask him for your money back if he doesn't fix it soon enough for you. PS: Why don't you just block updates like (almost) everybody else so you can play your game uninterrupted by Bethesda's stupidity and update your game and SKSE64 only when all the mods you use have been updated? Why is your failure to deal with the SSE gaming environment for the past year or more up to other people to sort out for you? 4

KlausH11 Posted June 17, 2019 Posted June 17, 2019 Exactly how is this "Spending 5 seconds keeping your game from updating" supposed to work? The only options I EVER got on STEAM was 3 options as to WHEN the update is applied, and Skyrim SE has to be updated before launch. What is this big SECRET method to block mandatory updates? Does it involve a secret handshake or decoder ring? update2.bmp 1

Go to the properties of you game in Steam, then update tab. You'll see an option for automatic updates there.

Does it involve a secret handshake or decoder ring How to block SSE updates from the Steam Library: {Right-click on TESV: Skyrim Special Edition} >> Properties >> Updates >> "Only update this game when I launch it" then never again use the Bethesda vanilla SSE launcher Steam >> Settings >> Downloads >> Only update games between {set a one-hour period when your computer is NEVER turned on} I set 6:00-7:00 AM Steam >> Go Offline ("Restart Steam in Offline Mode?") >> {"Yes, dumbass, or I wouldn't have told you to do it"} and never put Steam back online until you absolutely have to, e.g. you are ready to update the game Any one of the three methods above will prevent SSE from updating- the other two are for when I screw up and launch the game at 6:15 AM or whatever. A simple Google search turns up this info- no decoder ring required. 1 hour ago, KlausH11 said: Skyrim SE has to be updated before launch. No, it doesn't- you launch SSE via skse64_loader.exe when you have SKSE64 installed (as any user of SexLab Framework 1.63 Beta-n must have) and neither Steam nor the game detects that you have launched it- because you bypassed the SSE vanilla launcher by using skse64_loader.exe. For those who do not use SKSE64, there is no need to block updates at all because SKSE64 is what Bethesda breaks with their Sales & Nickel-Diming "updates."

KlausH11 Posted June 17, 2019 Posted June 17, 2019 Thank you for the information, though most people talk about BLOCKING updates while this is going through a lot more than "5 seconds" to temporarily evade an update. Furthermore, there are mods that require players to boot through STEAM, apparently to register folders.
