Do you happen to be using any texture mods? I had a problem similar to that, and it ended up being a bunch of textures that were all screwed up. Dropping to a lower res texture pack fixed it until I was past the trouble area.

So I've made a discovery and it has me confused more than anything. There were 3 culprits screwing my game and they make no sense.

I've used PN and Willow since I first started playing NV on the PC, and from all I've read BoE is one of the most popular and well made mods ever. How the hell are these 3 fucking my game up? Is it because I haven't been using the 4 GB FNV patch?

That's strange. I've used Project Nevada in every installation I've had without any problems. I also once tried Willow, and don't remember it giving any kind of trouble. Book of Earache though... that's a completely new bird to me.

I have been taking a break, from FONV myself, in part because of crashes.

 

I also remember that the "lore friendly willow" caused a lot of problems for me, and I have not been using willow since then. (I rarely use companions, but I like being able to try out other people's mods so I can get ideas about working with them.)

Proj Nevada I still use with complete satisfaction, so I doubt that is really at the root of it besides maybe something being out of date.

 

Willow I never used, but as a companion, I doubt she'd have that sort of an impact on making certain areas constantly crash, but this is only a guess.

 

Book of Earache I have no idea what it can do. I did some reading on it and it appears it makes changes to Willow and the old Sunny Companion.

 

Its possible all 3 are tied together by a chain reaction of conflicts. Book of Earache causes a conflict with Willow which then causes a conflict with PN.

 

Have you custom modified any of the three? Other then that, I'd try playing without Book of Earache for a while first and see how it goes, then eliminate Willow if the problem persists.

I use PN and it definitely isn't affecting my game, so that can't be it.
