Probably some form of Mario, and that's before 1990. If we want to talk games that release 1990 and up it is probably either Super Mario 3 or Super Mario World on the NES/SNES

My first game street racer... lol, it was for the ps one and while I had played games before that, this was the first one I had bought myself.

The game was truly terrible in hindsight but ehhhhh, Its fun, I even still play it every other year :P

First console game I ever played was Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island for SNES. Damn fine game, too, the stupid remakes of it never do it justice.

[i never actually played the NES until years later; my first console was the SNES.]

The first game I played on a handheld system was Pokemon Red Version for Game Boy Color. Good times, good times...

My very first "video game", if you can call it that, was KidPix on the Macintosh. Although I don't much remember, my mum tells me I played around with it extensively when I was but a wee lad of 2 years.

Probably my first "true" video game (rather than a drawing program or educational game) was Transport Tycoon for DOS, back when I was 4 years old in 1994. Interestingly enough, I still play Transport Tycoon to this day; of course, in a much-improved form known as OTTD, which is updated every single day. How many other games 18 years old can claim they're still updated daily, I wonder?

Man my first game system was one of these. The hours I spent playing Missiong impossible, and Gorf as a kid. Not to mention Thunderbird. There really was something about the classic arcade era games. Though my parents did get my a NES a bit later.

[/quote']"The truck have started to move!" Solid was PS1, but it's an easily forgivable slip. I remember it being special because you could actually (and were expected to) sneak up behind enemies. This is a concept we take for granted today that was actually a long time in coming.

I think my first game was "Ikari Warriors" for NES. "ABBA" all day every day.

As for the 90's. I think Final Fantasy 2 (IV) was the first game I popped into my new SNES even though I also had Super Mario World. But most of the 90s for me was spent trying to figure out the hilariously bad concept of "Expanded RAM" so I could play games like Wizardy VII. Man, PC gaming was such a PITA in the early 90s. I remember when you were a badass if your parents could afford a 2x CD-ROM in your PC.

Skipping the 80's is fine with me even though I'm that old too. My nostalgia for gaming only goes back to a few titles.

2 games that first come to mind because they were so special to me:

MDK was so slick and cool while being funny and fun. It also introduced the zoom sniper mode to gaming, if I'm remembering that correctly.

...and...

No One Lives Forever was also slick and cool while being funny and fun.

I don't remember MDK2 as being as good as the first one, though I do remember No One Lives Forever 2 as most certainly being just as good if not better than its first, for sure! But it was released it 2002, not in the 90's.

Im only 20 and i cant remember even if my life depended on it but my guess is age of empire 1 or the sims 1.

Honestly I do not remember but it was probably the original Super Mario Bros. Duck Hunt would be a close second.

Best game from my childhood is this....it's just so good, even now. This is when Square actually made good games.

The first game that I ever played was probably "Werewolf - the last Warrior" for the NES.

Never did manage to beat it though.

My older brother owned quite a selection of NES games so it could've been another game, but I'm fairly sure Werewolf was the first.

If not, it was certainly the game for the NES I spent most time playing.

Link for some of the gameplay

(The music gives me goosebumps of nostalgia.)
