three7 Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Is here any female frost elf companion for download?
Trykz Posted January 14, 2013 Author Posted January 14, 2013 quick question: i play with your frost elves mod. i am a vampire and have the minus 100% fire weakness to prove that im a stage four vampire but my eyes arent the glowing ones vamps have. i also dont get the quest to cure myself from inkeepers but do get the 'kill the vampire' from enemies. i want to do the dawnguard vamp questline but im thinking that its going to get messed up cause the game dosent flag me as one. ive even b een infected with the sanguires disseased while already being one. is there a fix that you can think off? i really want to continue using your mod while being a vamp with the cool glowing eyes... Are you using the right FrostElves.esp? (read the "Instructions for Vampire players" in the first post) The eyes don't change because nothing changes when you become a vampire. No sunken' date=' dirty face. No headmesh swap, nothing. I don't like when my characters get "uglified" after transforming into a vampire, so I leave that bit out of my race mods entirely. However, you could swap out the eye mesh and textures, which would take a little work, but is entirely doable. Is here any female frost elf companion for download? No. Only one person has ever been given permission to make a publicly distributed Frost Elf companion (mayatola), and it still requires the original mod and assets to use. It's available somewhere here on this board, and also on Nexus as I recall. Trykz

ElwoodCityDestroyer Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 yes i have the right .esp in the skyrim data forder. ill respect your wanting to not uglyfie the frost elves and not mess with the eyes but theres the me not being flagged as a actual vamp problem. ive read that with custom races the vampires in castle volkihar wont treat you as one and i wont be able to proceed thrue the questline after the first quest. and im not flagged as a vampire right now even with the blood boils in the suinlight text popping up all the time, i dought that ill be able to go thrue the questline. if you cant think of a cause or a fix its cool ill just wont join the vamps but will still roll as a frost elf, the best custom race ive seen, thanks for that atleast.

I don't know what troubles "other" races have been having, but mine have been working just fine. Please confirm issues like this BEFORE reporting a problem that may not even exist. I don't want to rip the mod apart looking for a non-existent problem. Thanks, Trykz

« Broken ‡ Mirror » Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Thanks for the new races Trykz!! But I do have a question Trykz. Knowing you, the files are probably going to be in .bsa archives, but I have CBBE-TBBP installed in my main files. So as long as I have the TBBP files installed, I can still use Yaksha and Daywalker right?

Lemme get them in Skyrim and see how they fare, then it'll be screenie time Edit: As soon as I switched to Yaksha, this is the preset that it started out with. As you can see, the eyes and eyebrows are really weird. I quitted and started Skyrim up again, but now I get this. I switched eye shapes, colors, everything. Not sure if it's the mod itself or if it's just my mods. Probably is my mods... I'll test it more tomorrow as I'm in the middle of a big project atm.

I'm in the midst of fully re-installing Skyrim, so I'll have a look tomorrow afternoon sometime. Trykz

Thanks, Trykz probably should have but yeah, after harkon turns me and i become vamp lord he gives me the first quest and all the other vamps just call me a mortal and how much of a fool i am for throwing away harkons gift. i still can turn into vamp lord and have the weaknesses and perks but those bitches dont see me as one and i cant go on with the quests
tkdb17 Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Trykz I've recently come back to playing games so I'm abit out of the loop. I'm looking to use all your race mods (since they are the nuts!) and was wishing to know what other files/mods I require to make yours work? Like I say, been at this awhile and appear to be going round in circles as to what extra stuff I actually need, Am I even right in thinking that all of your mods are compatible with each other? I was also wondering what other mods you feel work best with yours, hair mods etc as lets face it, there is a shed load of everything out there. Any help you're willing to offer would be great. TIA TK PS. Did I tell you that your mods are the nuts!?!

TIA TK PS. Did I tell you that your mods are the nuts!?! [/quote'] Most of my races use and work with just about anything you install into the vanilla replacer paths. Hair, eyes, makeup, etc... Most use their own meshes and textures for their bodies, hands, feet and heads, and most use custom skeletons. ALL of them use BBP, while Yaksha-revamped and Daywalkers-Dhampir use UNPB-TBBP, and DovahTeens uses a non-BBP body and skeleton. About the only mod I've found that causes issues with my races is Enhanced Character Edit. However, I'm actually working on making a custom version of ECE that will work with all of them. Other than that, anything should work. probably should have but yeah' date=' after harkon turns me and i become vamp lord he gives me the first quest and all the other vamps just call me a mortal and how much of a fool i am for throwing away harkons gift. i still can turn into vamp lord and have the weaknesses and perks but those bitches dont see me as one and i cant go on with the quests[/quote'] The ONLY thing that could cause this (other than some other mod conflicting somehow) is the ESP. It's only specific task is to add the Undead and Vampire Keywords to the race. Otherwise it's identical to the normal ESP. I'm suspecting some conflict with another mod more than anything. Out of 5498 downloads of the Frost Elf race, you're the only person reporting this issue. So I'd start with unpacking the mod and swapping the ESP again. If that doesn't resolve it, you'll have to look into other mods conflicting. Sorry.... Trykz
« Broken ‡ Mirror » Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Been experiencing random freezes, with the RaceMenu mod, changing to female via that always crash, random CTDs and a very lovely BSoD. Ughh, gunna step away from Skyrim for a while, too many things going on... But still, even with all that, the eyes are still black, although the white rectangles are gone. Congrats with the new races, but I won't be back to Skyrim plays for a while, I'll stick around for a little but real life calls.
ElwoodCityDestroyer Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 it seems that i have to be in vampire lord form to be able to talk to them. but when i revert to normal mode they go back to hating. ill see how far i can go with this method. dont think that im bashing your mod by asking these questions its the best rece mod ive seen
Trykz Posted January 18, 2013 Author Posted January 18, 2013 So after a bit of poking around in my mods, I've discovered that many of them are using outdated versions of RacialCompatibility.esm (3 different versions to be precise)..... So as of today, I've begun rescripting ALL of my race mods under the latest working Dawnguard compatible version. What this means is that nothing changes as far as the structural makeup of my races. However, for those that are missing vampire variants, I'll be adding them to those mods. If all goes as I suspect (and hope), the need for an alternate vampire.esp will no longer be required, as the races should update to the vampire variants normally. So I'll be repacking all of these with new scripts and .ESPs in their archives. This "may" break existing characters, but they should be easily recoverable by using the player.setrace console command. Finally, I'll be uploading them all at the same time. So if what you're using is currently working (such as for those without Dawnguard), please continue to use it until necessary. (I'll be leaving the current versions available on MediaFire) This process may take a week or two, but rest assured that new, fully compatible versions are forthcoming. Thank you for your patience, Trykz
tkdb17 Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Nice, I think i shall just hold fine on installing all your mods then. Few other things to keep me going right now so i'll happily wait. Thanks for your reply earlier aswel TK

Thanks for your reply earlier aswel TK [/quote'] No problem On that note, I've managed to re-script 3 races, but...... there's an issue. It seems that the modder who made the version I'm currently using changed something which is causing my races to conflict with each other. For example: I loaded the Frost Elves, Yaksha, and Guardians mods all at once. The first issue I encountered was a load order problem, where the last race to load had no access to vanilla OR custom hairs, and the eyes were completely missing. Another issue was that the earlier loaded races were gaining access to some of the custom eyes I built into only ONE of them, no matter where I placed the race in the load order. So needless to say, this may take a bit longer to sort out as I hunt down a fully functional, non-conflicting version of RaceCompatibility.esm Trykz

Possibly. I noticed that it happens with the older GenericRaceController.pex Hopefully, the new file I just installed with make the difference when I re-script the races again (the old controller scripts in 35 properties, whereas the newer file only scripts in 33). I should know in a few hours after I re-script a few of my mods and test them while loaded together. I also need to look around at some of the race mods on Nexus to see if anyone else is reporting conflicts along these lines. I'll check back in later this evening with whatever I find. edit: Mega.... try something for me if you can. Try moving the Yaksha ABOVE any other custom races you have installed, whether mine or otherwise, and let me know if the eyes start working. Thanks, Trykz

Not sure' date=' still figuring out the reason, may be the .hkx files. [/quote'] For what it's worth, I've found that almost ALL CTD's at the female race creation screen are due to too many hairs. Disabling one or two hair sets usually gets me limping along. Near as I can make out, it's a bug in the core (Skyrim) code, and nothing anyone can fix. This would also explain why males don't CTD, as there aren't many large-scale male hair mods out there.
