Trykz Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 DO NOT USE NEXUS MOD MANAGER TO INSTALL ANY OF THESE RACES!I don't support it, and I have no intention of changing this. So don't ask. Finally, I build my mods to suit my own personal tastes, same as any other modder. When you see screenshots I post of WIP (work in progress) projects, bear in mind that this is EXACTLY what they are. WIPs. The characters you see may (and likely won't) look exactly as your own character may look after you exit character creation. So keep your "extra" commentary to yourself. Constructive criticism is fine (and it helps me to improve things when and where it's necessary) If you have trouble understanding this very simple and basic practice of polite community etiquette, allow me to refer you here for a refresher course on avoiding pissing off any modders here:Ark of Truth's Lovers Lab User Guide--------------------------------------------------------------------Now, without further delay, lets get started:First up, one of my earliest creations:This race has been completely revamped for Dawnguard vampire compatibility. Please thoroughly read the special notes outlined below for playing any of my races as a vampire, as vampire play comes with a few special requirements.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Fire up your nastiest, toughest difficulty mods, because this race is now fully complete, with their own special racial bloodline and daily power. They are surely capable of taking on anything that gets in their way, be it man, beast, or even the most powerful of Vampire Lords. They are Tamriel's most powerful Paladins, blessed by Meridia herself. Gifted with a 100% resistance to disease, not even the most powerful of vampires can turn them (yes, they are immune to Sanguinaire Vampiris), which makes them the ultimate vampire hunters. Play-testing this race on Master level difficulty, with the Deadly Dragons mod (which can tune up other NPCs as well through it's configuration menu), has proven to be supremely challenging. And I have yet to play through Dawnguard with one Their daily racial power, Blessing of Light, will regenerate their health and stamina "in-combat" at an accelerated 500% rate for 60 seconds.---------------------------------------------------------------StygiansThis race of dark-skinned people was created by short story writer Robert E. Howard, for his story character, Conan the Barbarian. Forget everything you remember from the Hollywood version of the Conan story. It's largely disconnected from what R.E.H. conceptualized for the story of Conan. The more recent movie comes much closer then the Arnold Schwarzenegger film, but still doesn't quite depict it accurately. But enough of that. Here's a little backstory to help envision how these people fit into the Conan world:StygiaThe desert kingdom of Stygia, possibly the most infamous nation in the Hyborian mainland, is the birthplace, home, and wellspring of the Priesthood of Set, the serpent god of darkness. The entire kingdom is ruled by the clergy, with the closest devotee or disciple of Set having the single most influential hand throughout the Stygian territory. From the coast of the Western Sea to the shores of the River Styx, the power of Set’s snake-worshipping acolytes is supreme.Thoth Amon, Earth’s most powerful sorcerer, Lord of the Black Ring and the speaker of Set, this imposing dusky-skinned man leads the snake god’s cult in Stygia. It is said that those who defy his will are henceforth banished to the cold province of Skyrim as punishment for their sins against the serpent god.If you're interested in learning more, I highly recommend reading all of R.E. Howard's Conan stories, which are pretty easy to find online with a little searching. The race possess a 100% immunity to poison. Their racial ability is an area effect Calm that affects anything up to level 80 in a 100ft. area in front of the player, affording you an opportunity to escape certain death, or to test your mettle further by picking off multiple enemies one by one. This race uses another custom body I made in BodySlide, but will morph to just about any CBBEv3 compatible armor currently available. It works perfectly with Alan's BBP armor pack found here. But for armors that don't alter the shape of the body, I recommend creating some new vanilla replacers (or even your own custom armor sets using the available assets if you know how to use the CK) from this thread:Bodyslide CB++ by stuffed_bunnyIt's a great tool to use while learning your way around the CK as well. Here's the BodySlide files for the body itself:StygianBody.rar---------------------------------------------------------------So, I always wanted to do something relative to the Daedra in some fashion. So after a couple weeks away from modding altogether, I decided it was about time I sat down to do this. I hope you find this race as enjoyable to play as I do:Note: this race reuires the Dawnguard DLCDaedric ElvesBe sure to read the race description thoroughly in game. As Daedra, it hints at how and why this race cannot be vampires, as they consider vampires to be "lesser" beingsP.S. don't try to take the slave collar off. It's not an armor that you can simply remove. It's a constant reminder of how you came to exist ---------------------------------------------------------------Thank you for your patience as I get these races fixed and ready for you to use,Trykz
Trykz Posted August 8, 2012 Author Posted August 8, 2012 Released:After nearly two months in development, this very special mod is now released. The character you see pictured here is the Nord version of these races. See the spoilered pics further down for the full set of 4 human races.I created these to fill the enormous and glaring void Bethesda left between Skyrim's children and adults, as if children magically morph into fully developed adults overnight like moths.... or something These races release as a complete set, in two individual race mods, and will need the armor and clothing set also available now. BretonImperialNordRedguard Here's the first pic of a Dark Elf:The Elven males share the same common issue the Human males do. They look like small adults. There's no way I can keep them from gaining access to the facial hairs either, without removing the race controller script. And then they lose everything else as well, such as custom hairs, eyes, brows, etc...They look a LOT younger and smoother, but not much different otherwise. Suitable male parts are extremely hard to find So after a bit of pondering today, I've decided to release these 2 race mods as is. As time passes and I can find better male parts to use, I'll update them at that time.I'll be providing links below shortly to the additional armor mods you'll need to compliment the custom armor body and feet pieces I included in the armor set.-------------------------------------------------------------Special Instructions:The mods need to be loaded in the following order:DovahTeens.espDovahTeenElves.espDovahTeenGarb should be placed relatively low in your load order, but AFTER the optional custom armors I'll be linking here in a few moments. Some of the armors may clip very noticeably. Most can be fixed by simply selecting your character in the console, and typing the following:setnpcweight 100Others may be a bit too broken, but generally work pretty well with suitable mashups from other armor mods.Necessary Custom Armors (load above DovahTeenGarb.esp):LustDesign - Dovahkiin Mercenary Gearhttp://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=15804LustDesign - Adamantine Crystal Gearhttp://www.mediafire.com/?5q6pdrnm1k3eepyLustDesign - Tribal Glass Gearhttp://www.mediafire.com/?4b8f3b58tsw5vnsNalim Armor conversions by stuffed_bunnyCheck under CB++ Ported Outfitshttp://www.loverslab.com/showthread.php?tid=6900-----------------------------------------------I promised to release a Yaksha revamp (originally created by LL user eblisshaitan) as soon as I completed my transition from New York to Florida. It was 99% complete when the crap hit the fan, and I had to divert my full attention to my move, and away from modding for a while. Today, I was able to get it completed Yaksha - revampedYaksha - RevampedPlease note that there a few additional things to bear in mind for this race:First, the tattoo textures are NOT included as they don't belong to me, but are easily found on Nexus if you wish to have them. Just drop your preferred texture replacer into the following directory you'll need to create:Data/Textures/Yaksha/femaleAlso, this race uses the UNPB-TBBP body from the TBBP main thread, so be sure to install the required files from dragonfly's first post. And finally, for vampire players:this race is set up a bit differently. Upon actually turning into a vampire, you'll need to enter the console (by pressing the ~ key) and type the following:player.setrace yaksharacevampirethen hit the enter key and close the console. And DON'T forget to save. The appearance change is very minimal, and you should have the vampire glowing eyes (or whatever vampire eye replacer you currently use) ---------------------------------------------------------------This mod is a bit different than what I normally set out to build. Most notably, is that this half-human half vampire race (Dhampir) plays as PURE vampire, with no human counterpart. Essentially, your entire playthrough revolves around vampirism from start to finish. So to spice things up and enhance this race, I've also built and included what I feel is the perfect vampire lair, complete with TWO companions and about a dozen vampire cattle for you to feed upon at your leisure. It's located on the right rear corner of Honningbrew Meadery outside Whiterun, marked on the map, and can be fast-traveled to Like the Yaksha revamp, it uses the UNPB-TBBP body. So be sure to install any necessary TBBP files to make it work. Otherwise, the usual requirements for my races apply here. Also, the race and cavern are individual mods in one package. So they can be used together, or individually. And as usual, I HIGHLY recommend running this with Brehanin's Better Vampires mod. _______________________________________________ Since it's been a while since I last upped anything, and because my Broken Race mod is taking significantly longer than I initially expected, I decided to put together something simple, yet interesting. This simple race mod utilizes a LOT of what you already have installed to your Data folder, meaning it is VERY lightweight. So light in fact, I'm able to add it here as an attachment. It uses the UNPB-BBP body. See the instructions in the spoiler for replacing the body with your preferred replacer This mod uses whatever body textures you currently have installed in the vanilla folder path. So for example, if you already have CBBE installed, the body will use those textures For the body meshes, add your preferred body parts to: Data\Meshes\actors\character\Warforged\female (\male for the male body parts). This will include the hands, feet, and body meshes (6 meshes in total). For textures (body normal map ONLY!!!), use the following folder path: Data\Textures\actors\Warforged Essentially, this race is an amped up Nord race with vampire variant (male and female). Health, stamina, and their associated regens have all been upped for increased survival while playing on maximum level difficulty. This should also increase low level survivability once Bethesda releases the 1.9 patch, which essentially re-starts your character in an all new "Legendary" mode once you reach the vanilla level cap. The armored troll you see pictured is NOT the vanilla Dawnguard armored troll, but a significantly capable "Warforged" troll which you can summon at ANY time. He's set to last for 5 minutes, so he's not just hanging around when he's not needed. You will already have the ability in your lesser powers to summon him immediately after character creation. He's an essential actor, so there's no need to worry about losing him in battle But be warned, he is VERY overpowered at lower levels. A close up shot: Enjoy!Trykz
killmore9 Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Followed your method for fixing a messed up game and the game crashed as soon as i hit R to name my character. Gonna go try again. Edit: got it to work but my stats didn't stay the same. Perks and level are okay though.
Trykz Posted August 8, 2012 Author Posted August 8, 2012 Followed your method for fixing a messed up game and the game crashed as soon as i hit R to name my character. Gonna go try again. That's happened to me as well. I can't say for certain, but I think it may happen on initial load (as in the first time you load up the game after installing a mod, or after initially starting the computer). It usually works the next time I try it though. Also, try selecting a vanilla race, save, exit the game, and then reloading the newest save before switching to the custom race using the steps in Post 2.
jancicc Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 well TGM should freeze values of skills and perks, but it does not freeze health/mana/stamina. u can do a workaround for this tho by using MODAV ... showracemenu think's it's a buff added from an item or consunable and wont reset/change/remove it.
Trykz Posted August 9, 2012 Author Posted August 9, 2012 The Demoness and Nidia finished and re-uploaded. I also outlined the process for reversing the process of becoming a vampire. Trykz
Trykz Posted August 10, 2012 Author Posted August 10, 2012 Guardian Race now fully completed and re-uploaded. Please see the description below the pic. Bear in mind that this race CANNOT be vampires. Their 100% disease resistance prevents Sanguinaire Vampiris from taking hold. Therefore, it doesn't come with a Vampire ESP, nor does it have any special requirements, such as Better Vampires. Trykz
« Broken ‡ Mirror » Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Hey Trykz, concerning the files, do I have to delete the ones from your old thread before updating? Or do I just install these over the old ones? I'm asking this because these are in bsa packages and the old files are just regular folders.

These replace those, but any files left behind will be considered as "loose", and may cause major issues. If you run into problems with previous save games after installing, follow the instructions in post #2 to fix them. Keep me posted on your progress. I'll be around for most of the weekend to help if needed. edit: make sure you delete the race controller scripts from your scripts folder as well. The new scripts are included in the BSA. I'll update the first post with all the file names. Trykz

Edit2: I didn't delete the .psc files. The game seems to be going good. No bugs or anything yet. I attained Vamprisim but didn't get the Vampire Lord ability yet. Will test more tomorrow or during the weekend.
killmore9 Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Will using the vampire esp with a non-vampire character screw up the game?
Trykz Posted August 10, 2012 Author Posted August 10, 2012 Will using the vampire esp with a non-vampire character screw up the game? Nope. But lots of NPCs will comment about your pale skin, or tell you they don't like your eyes LOL Other than that, the game runs fine on the vampire ESP whether you're a vampire or not.

Vyrce Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Guardian Race now fully completed and re-uploaded. Please see the description below the pic. Trykz WOOO! This race is very quickly becoming my favorite custom race. I can finally redo my little whirlwind of death melee character. (decided to just start over for the kicks )

This race is very quickly becoming my favorite custom race.I can finally redo my little whirlwind of death melee character. (decided to just start over for the kicks ) Nice. I was hoping it would do well. I know a lot of people prefer to have vampire capability with the race mods they use, but it didn't make sense for the race concept, so I did away with it. The ability and effect seemed very fitting, and fits naturally into Skyrim, especially when playing through the DLC on the Dawnguard side. Nice to see it well received

« Broken ‡ Mirror » Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 Thanks Trykz! Using the Redguard teens at the moment. Here's Reina: Edit: Concerning the Vampirism, my Frost Elf is using it perfectly fine. Nothing bad as of yet.
Trykz Posted August 11, 2012 Author Posted August 11, 2012 Thanks Trykz! Using the Redguard teens at the moment. Here's Reina: Edit: Concerning the Vampirism' date=' my Frost Elf is using it perfectly fine. Nothing bad as of yet. [/quote'] Nice. And thanks for the update I'll be in and out every few hours over the weekend should any issues arise. One thing I did find myself though, is that because of the way the race controller dynamically adds each race to the headparts formlists of other races, my mods are interacting with one another in peculiar ways. I removed a number of races from my Data folder (I had 16 custom races installed with the 10 vanilla LOL), then logged in my Guardian character to find that her eyes had gone missing. Nothing major (easily fixed in the racemenu), but just wanted to mention it in case anyone else found it to be an issue. Other than that, I was pretty pleased with how responsive the racemenu was at loading that many custom races. I moved away from vanilla Skyrim's boring start a while back after installing the Live Another Life mod on Nexus, so being indoors during character creation is surely having a helpful effect. But I suppose at some point I should test the Helgen start just to see how it goes. Finally, you may notice that some of these mods only have a single preset. This is intentional, and I think also has a beneficial effect during racemenu loading. Thinking about it, 10 presets is pretty pointless other than saving a few minutes time when creating a character. Other than that, you can customize every preset to look exactly the same by setting the sliders all to the same position on each one.
Noodles Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 And just when I thought I was done addin races to my game I stumble across this gem =n.n= So far so good tho during creation my hands were darker then my body (Dark elf) but after that everything's rather smooth. Keep up the good work. P.s. Any word on yer Labyrinth mod or takins a break from it? (Forgive me for asking if you already mentioned something about its progress alreaady. As much as I try to keep track of worth-wile mods some information escapes even me... /sadface)

I'm using a low-end system, although LAL is considerably much better than the regular Helgen start.
