corchen Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 Why has no one made ears in this style for Skyrim? It makes me a sad sad panda
corchen Posted September 13, 2017 Author Posted September 13, 2017 Looks terribly ugly, if to be honest Yeah, they're sort of pasted on the side of the head at an ugly angle - it's more the nifty earrings that I want. I sculpt my ears in RaceMenu. we wait for you to do it LOL!
Gappp Posted September 15, 2017 Posted September 15, 2017 we wait for you to do it What skin texture do you use?

RomeoZero Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 rybelle hmm a DAZ poser textures, then it must be a custom body race you are using. What is it ?
yatol Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 hmm a DAZ poser textures, then it must be a custom body race you are using. What is it ? it's just the v6 conversion in bodychange3 (custom race? berk) the daz to skyrim tuto can be use for something else than armors even if that thing is a joke to make you do stuff the complicated way you import skyrim to daz, mess around with genesis, and everything you load on genesis is converted to skyrim that's how it's really done here's the one on the right in skyrim well... it need a few edits of course

corchen Posted September 16, 2017 Author Posted September 16, 2017 I do have KS jewellery, there are also a couple of elf earrings in the Leah Lillith jewellery pack, but the selection is very limited. ---snip---Thank you, but my original question was unclear - it's the multiple piercings styled for elf ears that I really want, and that doesn't seem to exist outside SL or Sims. that is not completely right, I played mostly with elves (female) and there is good ear jewelry. Ah well, it's a prompt to learn 3d modelling I suppose.
wwwizard3 Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 Hey, I know that not everything here is intended for elves, but I guess you can adjust it easily with Outfit Studio. RomeoZero Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 it's just the v6 conversion in bodychange3 (custom race? berk) well... it need a few edits of course I mean, if there's a a mod like Dizona male body from daz M6 already, then what are u using is also a body mod ? Or you just simply exported from Daz to CK the mesh as an item ? I made a lot of equippable bodies but quality stuff like Dizona female version is a must have for sure. If you can make a preset victoria6 and then export it,care to share the mesh ?

If you can make a preset victoria6 and then export it,care to share the mesh ? from daz to ck? no idea what you are talking about to convert i use daz, to make the nif blender, to give sbp x nifskope putting the nif in skyrim it's just copy pasting an armor in tesedit and editing it no idea what that preset is supposed to be either, said above it's just the v6 conversion... you want bodyslide sliders for v6? don't have bodyslide files for my outfits, why would i waste my time with that? (and if i want to edit the body, i do that in daz)
myuhinny Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 I remember seeing some ears like this for oblivion I believe if you could find them you could export them out of the oblivion nif in .OBJ and then load it into outfit studios and scale it down to the head.

Facial Piercings And I bet I just saw some more great feathered earrings somewhere, just forgot to make a note about it >< Ooh that Sprites outfit is new to me, very pretty! And iirc there is a pair of feathered earrings in the Leah Lillith set. I think I'm going to have to make some sort of mash-up with duplicating/importing/scaling various bits and bobs in Outfit Studio, then a bit of recolouring/texturing to match things up. I remember seeing some ears like this for oblivion I believe if you could find them you could export them out of the oblivion nif in .OBJ and then load it into outfit studios and scale it down to the head. Hmm, back to searching Oblivion mods and learning how to convert them.
myuhinny Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 Well all you need to do for the ears and earings for the oblvion nif is to export each piece out in .OBJ format once all of them are in .OBJ format start up outfit studios and start a new project and select the body you want and add the head bone to the body nif. You need to add the bone node to the body so that you can load up a head nif and right click the head and go to block - copy branch then load the body up that you added the bone node to and paste the head into the nif. Once that's done load the body up into outfit studios and click the head and go to shape - move shape and adjust the head to where it matche the neck seam the best that you can and export it. Now start a new project select the body that you want then click file - load outfit and drop one of the .OBJ files into the box and select it repeat with the file - load outfit dropping each .OBJ in till all are in. Highlight all parts but the body and scale down to 0.10600 now make sure to add the head bone node to this and then export with reference. Now open the nif with the body and head and right click the head and go to block - copy branch load the nif with the earrings in it and right click scene root and go to block - paste branch - save as to overwrite the nif. Reload the nif with the earrings and ears in it into outfit studios and adjust and scale the earrings to a better fit. If the ears and earrings are all connected you might have to use the zap option to zap one side and then repeat for the other side so that you can break them up into left and right sets for easier adjusting. I did this one here with the above way and once I made the body head nif I no longer have to do it anymore all I have to do is grab the head when I need one in a nif that I'm working on.

Untitled.png Thank you, that's extraordinarily helpful! I have never done anything in outfit studio with non-Skyrim nifs. I usually use the character's exported head from racemenu to position piercings perfectly, but doing that I just use the head as a reference and ignore the body entirely, I assume that's because the skyrim piercings have all of the bone attachments already?
myuhinny Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 I don't use racemenu I use ECEE the earrings in race menu would have to have all the required bone nodes added to them as well as having the correct weight painting for the bone node being used. When you port something into outfit studios in .OBJ format they have nothing attached to them (texture paths bone nodes weight painting) this is because .OBJ format doesn't support skinning so all that gets removed and has to be readded later. Somethings like texture paths will be readded when you export the finished product out of outfit studios and all you have to do is readd the actual texture path for the outfit part.

(and if i want to edit the body, i do that in daz) No, not bodyslide, was asking about the mesh itself when exported from Daz. Anyway forget about it if you don't know such technical stuff. Its complicate to explain the goal, better to do it myself in a cracked poser with Naightasy tuts later for my idea. Thank you for info anyway.

Thank you for the explanation, the Oblivion -> Skyrim conversion seems to be a well-guarded secret, you've told me more than several hours of googling.
