I think you may be right, using a different rig stops the T posing. Is there a way around this? having the breast physics just means less work XD

Try using it with versions lower than blender 2.8

Thanks, I'll play around with it and see what I can do!

 

Do you know anything about XML files? I've finished an animation but getting it into the game is very confusing. I'm at this part of the tutorial;

I've followed everything up to this point, I copy it and it try to find the .xml file, only problem is, is that I don't have any of these two files.

I recommend you download the commented one, it will be easier at first.

 I did originally but I've realised I saved it wrong! lol though this time I've saved it, it says .xml which is great but it's not saved as a text file it's saved like thisScreenshot2024-09-28112720.png.d27b5a5a6a9e8600745843167db36d68.png

Will this work the same way or do I need to convert it into a text file?

That way it's perfect, you can open it in a text editor like the ones recommended in the tutorial or you can simply import the xml file into your package with s4pe and then edit the xml in s4s

I must of missed the text editor, I think this tutorial is setting off some dislexia I never knew about XD Thank you so much for your help x

 

I do have another concern and it's the clip settings in S4S. It says that I must set the frame duration to 0.03333334, however mine is set to 0.03333335. I try changing it but it reverts back to 0.03333335 everytime. Can this be ignored? nothing I do makes it work.

I'm new to animating but have been giving the old college try for a while now.  I'm starting to pick it up again but I've noticed a strange problem that I did not have before.  When I try to export object meshes using S4S, the meshes will not open in blender.  Old object meshes I had saved from a while back still open fine in blender, but not new ones I try to export.  I've tried using different versions of S4S & Blender but all with the same result.  I'm using S4S 3.2.2.8 (Star) and Blender 4.1.  The animations all work just fine, but I have not been able to figure out the object mesh problem.  Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

Hi, new animator here still flipping through this thread as I would like to make some animations. I have a pretty possibly dumb question. Why is it that when I animate on Blender @ 30 fps and look through the preview the loop to me looks fine but when I play it in sims it plays out a lot faster than what the preview is showing me, by a lot. Could it be that my computer is just slow? or do I need to change some settings  in Blender for output. I guess another question related is how can I make the animation 60fps? Thanks for anyone that can help.

Can I ask some animators what they do for loops? Do you just create a long timeline and copy/paste the looping animation or do you just use that one scene and hopes it loops? For some reason my animation loops great in Blender as just 1 scene but when I test it on sims there seems like a slight delay? Thank you.

I've seen this delay even in the best animations on this site, it's probably a limitation of the game, but to improve it you can remove the last frame of your loop, so that the first and last frame (which are theoretically the same) don't repeat.

 

The other thing you can do is the same thing you mentioned, copy and paste the loop many times in Blender so that the delay isn't so noticeable during the animation

Thank you for your response, I will try removing the last frame of the loop as a test.

2 questions if anyone could posssibly help me out.

 

This has probably been asked before but how do I toggle the skin texture? of the male and female dagger rigs downloaded from the TurboDriver tutorial? I'm trying to work on the expressions but it's kind of hard to see without any reference. Also i'm still pretty noobish at Blender.

 

The 2nd one is, Is it possible to do wickedwhims on the pole dance object from the strip club mod? I know the basics of like using objects with S4S (doing the override and importing the blend file on the scene) but it seems like the pole dance object is not included in my S4S library?

 

Thanks if anyone can help me out, I've done a few scenes I think I will upload/ make patreon/ red gifs of the my animation file soon.

If you are using versions higher than Blender 2.8 (which I assume you are) here are some methods explained.

If you are too lazy or don't understand the explanations, use the rigs for the versions that were originally created (Blender 2.79 or lower)

 

Regarding the second question, re-read the tutorials, there is clearly a poledance download link

What is the max amount of frames we can do for a single scene? Also is there a way to mirror the position of a limb (say a hand or leg for like a walk cycle) to the other?

I tried to get rid of the controls in the Dagger control rig as don't like to work with them, plus the elbows and knees don't bend with it (blender 2.79). Now I am left with those black lines that don't connect to the joints anymore. They do pose correctly, but how can I get them connected again? or do there rigs like this without the controls, but with the needed bones for WW already exist?

I may not be understanding you completely, but I think what you want is a rig like the one normally used for make poses, but with the bones that WW uses, like the penis, anus, vagina and stuff like that, well, if that's the case download it here https://turbodriver.itch.io/wickedwhims/devlog/139574/creating-basic-animations-in-blender-1

Thank you, I already use that one so I am in the good direction, but I am looking for a version without the controllers. Not sure how to explain, but one you can control from the joints itself and not an extended influence like a controller.

I have another question, I saw this earlier in the forums but it did not work for me. I'm trying to figure out how to do constraints? Like say grabbing a Sims arm or keeping the hands to the other sims hips while animating? Currently what i've been doing is animating the frames of the hands to move whenever another body part its grabbing is moving. I tried to constrain say something to the hand but it ended up doing the whole object of the sim?

I think there's a possibility that your rig might be broken/corrupted. It happen to me before I think and I fix it by downloading the same rig again wierdly enough, I use Daggers rig btw  Link if you're curious, if you were using child of constrain before maybe change it to copy location constrain instead, because child of constrain is apparently can be a bit buggy.

 

A bit of tut on using copy location constrain instead of child of constrain :

Go to pose mode and select a bone from your female/male rig, not the control rig one but the female/male one. Press A twice to select all the bones and then ALT+H 

There's going to be a bunch of new bones showing up and that's going to be your new target location.

 

your constrain should look like this:

you can adjust the position by moving the target bone on the rig female/male, in this example its the b__R_ThighTarget_slot on the female rig, and if need to adjust the rotation you need to go back to the control rig and rotate it there, but I highly suggest that you just try and download a new rig since that might fixed the issue, this work around is very limiting and annoying imo.

Yes, I use Daggers Rig as well. Thank you for this, to be honest I'm still fairly new to Blender so I've barely looked into constraints but I will give this read and see what I come up with. Maybe I will post my progress with some pics to see if it matches. Thanks again.
