People need to stop acting like children. Its called a modding COMMUNITY, right. A Community sahres things with each other to enrich the whole, not to be put on a pedastal to be worshipped. Its 2017. time to let bygones be bygones and move on already. JFC.

Hello again. I do not understand your problem with SkyrimGTX. SkyrimGTX is not Mod Thief. He made a nicer looking followers mod from your mod, and cited you as the source for it. That is not stealing. That is modding to its core. Removing your mod will not change anything. Another Tumblr I follow gave me the last updated version of the Sherry follower mod because they too believe this is ridiculous. I believe both of you are Wonderful Modders, and this dispute needs to end. Thank you.

No, that is not modding to its core.

All modding since the beginning has been based on people sharing what they want to share, and other people respecting their permissions and their decisions. I did not give permission for this.

If you think doing things without permission, and refusing to remove them when asked, is modding to its core, you’ve got some pretty weird ideas.

I’m glad you got my Sherry, and if they really think this is ridiculous, I’m very regret I give some of people permissions for share my mods.

Thank you.

And here is an example of your “wonderful modder”

I contact the tumblr that who give you Sherry follower, and now you make this tumblr lose the trust.

This tumblr trust you, and give you the mod, now you betray this tumblr, and make this tumblr betray me.

For now, I won’t give anyone permission to share my follower mods they had from me any more forever.

And also, re-upload Sherry and innocent demon followers mods now become more impossible, thank to you and SkyrimGTX.

And new follower mods from me will be 100% impossible, forever.

Hope you enjoy the last updated version of the Sherry follower mod you got.

Permissions aside and whether they were breached or not, that is straight up childish. Sure, you have some argument, and you've got the right to be pissed, but removing your mods?

I dunno about this guy, but since he's this much of a child I'm gonna assume that he didn't make the hair for his character. Nor did he make the armor it's got on. Nor did he make the body model, or the texture it uses. Did the people who make it get upset at him for repackaging it into a follower? No, because they're not fucking children.

Jesus this is so nutty. Literally using the word 'betrayal' over things like these.

SkyrimGTX and similar person have been bashed enough.

The right thing to do is get them and their content removed from the internet if no permission was given.

The other point: As they speak rather broken english, my guess it that they have their own 'other language' community, where overlooking permissions is ok.

Permissions exist for a reason. If I create something, it is mine. And I can set what you can do with it.

Just like Bethesda says you can use their assets only in the game they come from. Or that you can't earn money with it.

Bottom line: If idiots to idiotic stuff, the amount of good modders will decline as they do not wish to share with even just a small pool of toxic idiots.

I'm reluctantly on the side with the mod author here.  They made a mod (presumably with resources they had permission to compile and re-distribute), they decide how it can be distributed.

I just recently removed the source code from my (single) mod distribution because I explicitly stated that it, or any works based on it, must be distributed exclusively on LoversLab.  I subsequently found a Japanese translation and a Russian translation on different sites.  The Russian version was kept up-to-date with my version, so it was blatant, continual theft, not just the one-off, out-dated version from the Japanese site.  Instead of source code, I spent a bit of time re-coding so it could use a translation file via SkyUI, that way other-language users weren't left completely in the dark.

That said, I don't understand the fuss over derivative works.  No money was lost (because it's free), and the original author was still given proper credit according to the account posted by the OP.  Frankly, he should be flattered that someone liked his work enough to "improve" it.  (In quotes because "improve" is in the eye of the beholder.)  Were I in that author's shoes, I'd have contacted SkyrimGTX and worked with them to create install options within the original mod rather than have a separate release or throw a temper tantrum.

Well, this will only get worse and bugfesta plus youtube jerks started this shit and it has to end somewhere probably with a huge decrease in modding activity and bad sales of beth games in the near future for example fallout 4. So if they make another DLC for fallout 4 I bet it doesn't sell as well as the others. Maybe a side effect of all this sinking ship stuff is the beth.aids millenials will jump ship and float away on their giant cell phones to the next internet money scam and finally leave the modding community alone for a while.

Up and removing all your mods like a petulant child is not a mature way to handle this.

But it's not exactly kosher to upload work that is barely yours when the source's author hasn't given you the okay.

Both yuih and GTX are in the wrong, it's just that the former is a crybaby and the latter is an asshole.
