SexLab Parasites - Kyne's Blessing (January 2025)

So I got a face hugger parasite and I am not sure if its working properly, I got it and every like 10 seconds or so it triggers again of either filling or strangling is this supposed to happen? I had a similar issue with SD+ where rapid fire effects would happen if I got enslaved so I had to give up on  the mod

I've been looking at issues in this and the SE thread for a couple days trying to correct an issue in my own playthrough on SE, and while I never found the answer to my questions, I have learned enough to answer yours

basically, if you've talked to Danica about other parasites already and have the parasite repellant recipe, taking one of those seems to have a chance to remove some of the "armor". this is just treating the symptoms, though, the root infection was described (way earlier in this thread, I think) as a "managed permanent" condition. in game, if you ask Danica about it, she'll tell you it's a blessing from Kynareth and she won't help you remove it, but you should get a quest pop-up directing you where to go from there.

you can actually skip all the quest progress stuff entirely though-

So, I got the scroll and went to the graybeards. I finally got the armor off however because I'm currently playing as a male PC the body got messed up. It looks like the torso is small, the head remains normal however there is a major neck seam issue. Not sure how to fix it...

I don't play as a male, so I have no idea how common that is. likely it's something that can be fixed by going into the race menu and bumping the size slider a bit to get it to reset, though. I'd recommend ShowRaceMenu Alternative for that, it gives you a power that'll bring you to a separate cell and activate the racemenu without breaking anything

Put Animated Parasites after XPMSE in your priority list.

And im wondering what I do after that has the story been completed now and if it is completed for the time being is there a way to revert my charecters body back to my ordnary body. Brilliant mod and actully thought out story.

Thanks

The tentacles talking to you is normal. At this point, simply let them talk to you often enough for a quest objective to change.

so, I've had the tentacle harness on for almost half of my playthrough, which is like, two weeks of real time gameplay. it talks to me often, but I haven't gotten any actual quest updates. I've learned a lot about how it works, like that it affects my magic. I've learned through More Informative Console that it'll fuck up my stamina regen sometimes. I know I can remove it via parasite repellant, but I'd like to find the other way. is there a trigger I'm missing? or just bad rng luck?
I should mention I made a custom plug in / mesh files to make the tentacles, living armor, and barnacles not take up the body slot so I could still wear armor, but so far everything else seems to be working fine, so I don't think that would cause this to not trigger

I mean, in my Plugins list is Is after in priority (AP is 49 and XPMSE is 30) unless you meant directly after.

So i moved it directly after and it did fix the positioning... however it also doesnt animate any more where as previously it was animated, but on the ground.

So i moved its priority around to narrow down what mod is causing it. It seems its SexLab Parasites. When its before in the load order, its right position, no animation. When after, its wrong position, but its animated.

Just like Lavender above, the tentacle harness isn't progressing any quest. It talks, does its random events, but never seems to progress a quest. Is this bugged, are there any mods known to conflict/screw up the quest, or is there just nothing really going on w/ the 'quest'?

OK so my mod order is a spaghetti factory (despite my many attempts to fix it lol) but I what I have is:

Plugins (right-side list): SexLab-Parasites.esp, then AnimatedParasites.esp, then XPMSE.esp

Priority (left-side list): XPMSE, then SL Parasites, then Animated parasites.

I always just sort plugins with LOOT, but I remember that Animated Parasites wouldn't work for me when it was lower priority than XPMSE in the left-side list.

IIRC DeepBlueFrog said that advancing the quest was reliant on getting certain encounter dialogue from NPCs (like NPCs commenting on you being naked). If you have Reduced Distance NPC Greetings or disabled them outright, then it might cause issues. Otherwise, maybe try bumping nonstop into different NPCs to try and get some dialogue.

This is what I love about this mod and this website:

Quote

The tentacles talking to you is normal.

people just say things like that.

SUGGESTION FOR ADDITIONAL MOD CONTENT  I don't know if this has been suggested already.

Simple radiant quests, that rarely occur, to help someone else remove THEIR parasite.

"Oh, I went out in the woods and got attacked by spiders, and now I feel... do you know ANYTHING that could help?"

As it so happens, I do...

I know some of my followers have gotten 'gifted' with this or that, before.  It seems to this doesn't-write-mods player, like it would be relatively simple and modular to add.

A second radiant quest idea is to go find a limited subset of parasites for others, so they can try out what they've heard or read about.

"Say, uh, I, uh, I heard chauruses have this kind of worm thing, and, uh..."

I think I know where one might be acquired, yes.  And for a higher price, I won't ever mention who was asking about it.

Conversely, what I have:

LEFT side of MO2

#773 SLParasites

#776 Animated Parasites

#1108 XPMSSE

RIGHT side

E5 XPMSSE

(and, for some reason, MO2 thinks SOSRaceMenu, at FE:141, is also associated with XPMSSE)

EE SLParasites (manually placed directly under Complete Alchemy & Cooking Overhaul)

FE:171 AnimatedParasites.

And I have nicely animated squirming blue worms - I haven't gotten far enough to see if anything else is animated, though I do get clouds of glowy flies occasionally from my brand new spriggan infection.

ah, that could have something to do with it then. I get comments on the tentacles often but I never really talk to npcs at random. I was waiting for like, an actual quest pop up. I'll try talking to people more and see if that helps. funny, got that same advice in therapy

Once you become Queen the changes are irreversible.

I have plans to add an alternate path where you just kill the Queen and reject becoming queen yourself.

I also have ideas for an epilogue involving the 'other side' of the rift but nothing fleshed out yet.

The way it is supposed to work is to give you hints about someone to find in a particular location, like 'a person in Markarth'.

Go, find anyone in Markarth you can have sex with and the tentacles should move to them and close the quest.

The point of that quest is that the parasites directs you to find its next victim.

Finding more NPCs already infected and interacting with them is on my list of improvements but I don't have anything started yet.

I didnt think the list on the left mattered which order it was in. Thought that was just a list of installed mods and the list in the Plug-ins tab was what mattered (as that is the list LOOT changed when you tell it to set the mod order)

oOOOOOH noooooo.  The list on the left is the order in which all the assets are installed.  If you are old enough to remember transparencies in school, then MO2 starts at the top and then places each mod on top of the previous.  (if you're not that old, or too old - think of a transparent sheet of paper, with someone drawing on it with markers)  Whichever mod overwrites last, wins.

So if you have (in this order) SexyNakedElisif and PunkHairdoElisif installed, but your little brother (or grandmother) installs SternPrudishNunWhoHasNoPatienceWithSexButDoesHaveFireballs_Elisif further down, then you will have a very unpleasant surprise when you pop into the Blue Palace wearing nothing but a Dibellan wreath and an expectant smile.

Now in this case I don't know which left-side order you should have; I was just mentioning that what I had animated my parasites (and today I confirmed it also animates facehuggers.  Maybe someday I'll learn not to sleep in caves.... or carry a gag or something to block the cursed lil' things).

You .... have a significant point there.  And yet, I struggle, curse the things, try to avoid them, try to remove them...  So either the struggle is the point, or I'm an idiot.

Please don't guess which. ?

If thats the case, then why does loot, a program designed to organize the mod load order, only modify the plugins (ie the right) priority list, and not the mod (ie left) listing? And if only the left list matters, why does the right one even exist?

Apologies to the rest of you - I know this is off topic.  But Knowledge Is Power(TM)!

The answer to both, is that PLUGIN ORDER is also important, and those have a relatively hard limit (compared to meshes, textures, etc).

And, savefiles are very sensitive to changing the PLUGIN order, but not really sensitive to changing the other things like meshes textures etc.

LOOT and the right-side pane of MO2, deal with plugins - ESP, ESM, and ESL (and ESP-FE if that's different than ESL iono).

Hey I am having an issue with the mod. The MCM only half works and wont trigger some of the infections. I do not have any visual models for the ones I can get infected with IE Facehugger, and when I turn on 100% infection and get infected with things from like spiders I get text that is saying I am infected or being infested by said worm but then nothing else happens and the MCM stat/quest tab does not update or show any infections. I have been working on this for a few hours now, I have all the required files, have run Body slide and FNIS (everything In devious is essentially working except the rear arm binders those are bugged for some reason). Help Dx Dx Dx Dx

I'm having the same issues, does anyone have any idea as to what may be the cause of this. All the prereqs are installed and set to load before parasites, I've tried the github and LL files. The events will trigger and the meshes are in my data files but the items refuse to appear on my person, plz halp
