question blue are you able to make the queen mask 1 not do the muffled speech 2 not have the characters mouth agape like the open mask one as my mouth is clearly unrestricted but behaves like it (now i dont know if the programming of dd will allow that so thats why im asking)

also stupid idea i know but i think itd be cool if you made it that if you become a vampire as queen the armor turns red or has a subtle change to reflect this as id assume vampirism would affect her majesty in some way cause i mean its vampirism its pretty intense

I am currently testing DD 5.1. I will revisit that later and see if I can make all the masks 'speech enabled' (it's all or nothing I am afraid).

Try doing one Seed Spawn spell. I was planning to simplify that part but I didn't get to it before the end of the month during my last playthrough. I will take a look soon.

The spell if meant to work automatically by granting you the powers through a silent potion equip. 

 

Which flying mod are you using?

 

Parasites detect 3 variations of the flying mod. The best one I found is 'Animated Wings Ultimate.esp'. It is a little tricky to set up and I couldn't get some of the hotkeys to work myself but the basic flying key should work.

 

I will take another look when I get to that stage in my tests.

The mod is completely untested with vampires at this point. I probably won't get to a stage where I can test that until next year at this rate.

Hi.  I was also getting the 'Spriggan Infection Failed' messages, as well as strange, 'creature generated' protective 'electrical' cloak events, which seemed to come from this.  See my posts from last week

 

Not having got any responses, I did the unthinkable and actually uninstalled this as the cloaks seemed to kill the bad guys in what was, effectively, an unfair fight, which spoilt (my style of) game.  They have now stopped, so I guess this was their source

 

So, when you talk about ''flare events', are you talking about these sort of cloaks?  If not, did you ever have those and, if so, do you think that they at least are gone?

 

I see up thread that the deepbluefrog says that there are still hangover issues so, as you might imagine, I'm loathe to reinstall this if that's one of them

 

ANY help would be very welcome ...

Already did that, and still nothing. What are the spell IDs so I can add them manually via console (assuming that would work)?

I am using both animated wings ultimate and flying mod (AWU requires flying mod to function). None of the silent potion equips happened, but I made a sloppy workaround: I edited the chaurus_wings.nif in outfit studio, deleted the wings part of the mesh while keeping the "back scales" part, and then used the potions/hotkeys in AWU to equip/unequip the included chaurus wings that way. This works best in terms of functionality, but it means your wings are hidden until you activate them (which is honestly ok with me RP-wise assuming the wings can "hide" in your back)

 

Or maybe, now that I think about it, the AWU potions need to be enabled in MCM first (they're disabled by default), and then Parasites can successfully use it. I'll have to test that later.

The flares are not the same as the cloak spells. The flare is a complete body replacement, where after completing the ritual, your body alternates between a mesh with small extensions, and a mesh with larger extensions. They are not spells so this is not a related issue to the cloak spell bugs.

If you know something about mesh rigging, or if you know someone who does and is willing to pitch in, I could use some help with the Chaurus Queen Skin.

 

Right now, the tips of the claws sticking out from the chest are attached to fixed points in space, which stretches them as the player moves around.

I need someone who knows how to "detach" them and make them move freely with the rest of the body.

I used that guide to make a (very rough and lazy) UUNP version of the queen skin. Basically you need to copy the bone weights from the HDT version of the body you're using. The guide does a decent job at explaining how to copy weights, but you might need to look up other guides for your specific issue.

I checked the code and it is definitely a bug.

 

I fixed it for the next update.

Thanks for looking into that. I actually ended up completing the chaurus queen quest :) Well done indeed, and what a great set of armors/powers you get as a reward. I was able to finish the quest relatively easily with no console commands and only a few other bugs to report:

 

1. Strange issue after exiting the dimensional rift back into blackreach: my inventory key, tab key and some others stopped working. This was fixed by saving and exiting to main menu and then reloading the save.

 

2. The Chaurus Dragon in blackreach flies far away, and is not hostile until it loses a certain amount of health (~10-20%)

 

3. First time I defeated the queen, the queen armor did not equip properly (it was equipped in inventory but invisible. I quit the game, tried the fight again and it did (might have had something to do with using the "dragon aspect" shout or the flying spell during the battle but not sure)

 

Beyond those minor bugs, there's also an issue with the chaurus brood not recognizing certain enemies like falmer or other chaurus. They will usually attack most human NPCs (or only after i use the acid spit attack on them), but they will not be in combat when there are falmer and other chaurus around. Are wild chaurus supposed to be in a friendly faction by default after becoming queen or not?

Also I looked at the wiki again regarding the wings: I did not realize that the wings were only supposed to be given for the final queen form and not the first chaurus armor form (even though there are wings included with the armor mesh). That also may have been part of the issue of the queen armor not equipping, but the wings work perfectly fine now when I'm running them purely through AWU

That's a game engine bug. Somehow, the engine thinks you are still in combat even though you are not.

When it is stuck like that, the only solution is save, exit and reload.

Right now, it is simply a retexture of the default Blackreach dragon.

I will have to give it better behavior to attack the player more actively.

That's a faction issue. I am still trying to figure out a better way to make them friendly to you and not to falmers.

They should remain friendly to other chaurus though. It wouldn't make sense to attack them since you are the queen now.

You can consider the first set of non-functional wings as vestigial and part of the growth.

I checked the original.

That's an oversight on my part :sweat:

I think those tips are rigged to the spine bones somehow...

I'll get it fixed when I have the chance :smile:

I will have to check but I think tracking and charm work on both spiders and chaurus.

I tried to call powers that work on both 'Seed xxxx'.

'Spider xxx' and 'Chaurus xxx' are powers specific to each race.

don't know if i'm blind, but i followed a questline for resolving my somewhat buggy spriggan infection ( the body for some reason got booted by DD chastity bra...) but i'm kind of stuck on the sacred stone of kyn in front of high hrothgar.  can't find it, not even sure what to look for, no map pins either, i'm just a spriggan tryna get ahead in this world now... i know you can force cure it but i was hoping the questline went somewhere.

BUT .... on an interesting note, I have got the 'lightning cloak' thing back again...  LOL

 

For Context:  Apart from SLP, I also use Skyrim Chain Beasts, by @MTB (Great mod bringing over the bad capturing beast automata from Oblivion - you should try it sometime if you haven't already.  Great support and v good documentation)

 

The cloak problem seems to start after getting into battle with these Chain Beasts

 

I kept a log and there is something odd seems to happen around line 2111 (and maybe also with the spriggan gloves prior initialisation?). 

 

Is SexLab Parasites 'reacting' to the Chainbeast attack as it would to an 'attack/encounter' by/from a Parasite, but without the actual Parasite then being there to then fully/properly add to the NPC?   And, notwithstanding that, treating it as if a Spriggan thing, with it then carrying forward some of the parasitical effects, such as the lightning cloak? - maybe even also the 'Oak flesh' effect that shows up in my Console and SKSE Active Effects listings, something which I hadn't previously related to SLP? 

 

I know that I'm merely an amateur, but it looks as if it could be something like that, with the Chainbeast/Spriggan gloves playing a part in it all

EDIT:  Also attached a video of the Chain Beast encounter showing - sorry it's not great quality - and there is a cut/restart about the middle, to remove repetitive info and get it down to postable size

Initial Attack by Chain Beast

Application of Protective Coat of Slime (= Electric Cloak?)

Creature Releasing Surge of Electricity

Repeated Failures of SLP Spriggan Infection

You have been poisoned (at very end - seems to be on death of final Chain Beast)

 

I've pasted a link to this post on the Chain Beast Thread in case @MTB has anything to offer

 

Hope this is helpful - even if by now you'd really rather not have seen it! LOL

Thinking of what else you might ask, I also tried setting all the MCM Spriggan Infection Chances at 0.  Then both waiting 24 hours, and also sleeping past midnight.  Under both those sets of circumstances, an attack by the Chain Beasts results in the [SLP] Spriggan Infection - Failed etc messages seen in the video posted.  Only odd thing I noticed was that one of the potentially active infection indicators in the MCM R/H column - the Spriggan Feet one -  is greyed out.  Added the pic of that too

I can't seem to find any feedback on this one, but as there still seem to be some Spriggan glitches, @MTB was kind enough to offer up the following info re 'his' chain beasts, attacks from which were generating the 'Spriggan fail' errors seen in the video I uploaded. 

 

So, just in case it's of any help in any way ....

If that mod is based on any of those, that might cause the interaction.  That's all I can think of atm.
