Eth4rlad Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Think the end of the world can't get any worse? Then NVIDIA's high-quality Fallout 4 mod has some bad news - turns out that adding super-advanced lighting and shadows to a thermonuclear Wasteland just makes it scarier, moodier, and more dangerous than ever. Check out the video now! Could be cool? I guess? Still i can't stop getting triggered just over the mentioning of Gameworks alone. It's a terribly polished pile of crap that actively sabotages performance, created for the sole purpose to run as bad as possible on AMD machines.
Guest Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 So it tweaks lights in a specific area? It is supposed to be an interior cell called "Vault 1080". Where "supposedly" the high-level graphics will be activated by the mod. (god rays, and volumetric lights, mainly.) Right now many people doubt that the game engine allows cell-specific changes. And the mod is not available for download. But is referenced on the nvidia' web site.
Halstrom Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 More mods the better, give people something for nothing and there's still whingers.......
Eth4rlad Posted September 2, 2016 Author Posted September 2, 2016 And the mod is not available for download. But is referenced on the nvidia' web site. It's intended to be presented on PAX, which starts today, so i'd guess it will be available shortly after.
parrotheada1a Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Mmmmmmm......vaporware. Next thing you know, they will tell you that it requires a $$ 500+ $$ video card to run it. My game looks pretty damn good at 1080p already with ENB and a Re-shade preset.

prinyo Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 They already "modded" FO4 with their previous patch turning the pipboy screen black. But judging by their previous promo products (Funhouse), Vault 980 will also be OK. Maybe even Vault 970.
blind dog Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 The last 5 rooms out of the 40 at vault 970 are full of really obese deathclaws, however, and they are very slow. This looks rather interesting though, and as for cell specific changes, that is very much a doable thing, as Pastaspace has demonstrated.
maybenexttime Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 It's really short. I beat it within 30 minutes. It's pretty spooky I guess with very little interior lighting. But there isn't really much to it. Some terminals with info but no voiced characters.

Guest Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 I really don't understand this. I have a liquid cooled 1080 and the game runs like shit on it.
Benmc20 Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 I really don't understand this. I have a liquid cooled 1080 and the game runs like shit on it.Do you reboot your computer from time to time ? There is a bug (lasting one in fact) in the Forceware who can reduce by half the GPU preformance when go out of sleep and who last till hard reboot of the computer. I can run this game pretty nicecly (full details and even some nVidia settings activated by INI edits) on my Radeon 380x Nitro (resolutiion 1920*1080).

I don't actually, I usually just put it to sleep, should I try a hard reboot? I run it at 1920 x 1080 and usually I get 60 fps with random drops to 50 but then if I go downtown it drops horribly(30 fps). I'm sure its the resurrection mod but I still feel this gpu should be strong enough to handle that. I just feel let down a little by the 1080, I'm sure I deserve it for giving into the 1080 HYPETRAIN!
Leito86 Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 So...the graphics are made better by darkening the scene to a point where it's almost impossible to find junk. Cool. Now that I'm done hating, I'm interested to see more of the enhancements. God rays are nice but iirc, fo4 had them.
prinyo Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Speaking of performance. I wonder what kind of system does this guy have. On my PC it would have crashed shortly after the start of rounds 2 and 3.

Edit > I have only a source in french (sorry) ATM, but you can use a translater. Very interesting though : http://www.touslesdrivers.com/index.php?v_page=3&v_code=6377
DigitalP Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 I have a MSI laptop with 16gigs of ram, gtx960 2gigs and Fo4 is on the SSD. Interiors is a solid 40 or and outside around 25-30fps. Everything is on ultra and I'm using ENB.
