I had the v4 version installed already, and dx11 was never enabled. Unsure why Better Exceptions talks about xml 1.0

if you already have v4 then yeh thats a strange one lol have you considered removing just all your animations? they too can screw with some parts of the game, i lost all the romance bars and relationships the other day, turned out it was one crappy animation that caused havoc with the entire game

What seems to be extra odd is that only some families get this issue. Always ones with custom traits but not all custom traits seem to cause it. The issue persists regardless of if the traits are in my mod folder or not

i had exactly that issue with my main family in my main save, if it persists either way it could be that theres still some record of it in a file or something, give this a try, remove all CC traits, delete local thumbcache and cfg file from mods folder then delete the wickedwhimsinfolog, avatar cache and clientDB  in the sims 4 folder, load your game save and let it run for a minuet then save as but save it in a new slot the exit game and load the new save up and try entering CAS.

Here is what I did. Download BetterExceptions. Then go to your chosen family and enter CAS with a sim that does NOT have custom traits. Like a child. If not, maybe adopt a townie for the test.

Go to CAS using them. Then select your main sim in CAS. Now some exceptions will be thrown, and BE will open up a webpage with them. Should be a bunch of custom traits.

You can then try removing those to see if it makes your problem go away. But I found that the traits appear to work in my game, and I would rather thave them than not, so just remembering to not open CAS with those specidfic sims is a small price to pay to keep playing my save.

Tested around a little more. Seems that any sims I cant load into cas will also break the UI so most buttons are unresponsive if I try to access their simology panel. It seems the two issues are tied together. I did manage to use that workaround early on but ended up having the UI broken anyways afterwards

I'm having an issue where WickedWhims sex initiated by Nisa WW prostitution "Offer body" is causing the animation to not play in the correct sequence set by the author, it's playing it randomly, doesn't happen when I run a standard WW animation through WW options. I have "Full progression" selected in WW settings and I also have Nisa and all it's dependencies updated, I tried it with "Sequence Only" as well, getting the same issue.

"Ask to Join" menu fails to open / CTD: WW v181c (8/14/24)

2 people are having sex, I clicked on a third sim "Ask to Join" but the interaction menu failed to open, only the screen greyed out (the opacity overlay that occurs on screen when interacting with a menu such as MC or WW settings). With no interface available to close, I essentially soft-locked my game and had to force quit. Looks to be WW @TURBODRIVER to blame as I have no related issue elsewhere. I received no Exception Report at all. 

 

Is this happening to anyone else? I am on latest game version and WW/WP. 

 

EDIT 1: Booted the game up a second time and tried again, the game crashed seconds after I clicked "Ask to Join". 

EDIT 2: (Work-Around) I reverted back to the previous version of WW (180c) and it fixed the issue. The "ask to join" menu opened as expected.

Something about the UI or Ask to Join features appears to be broken with latest version of WW.

I am on latest game version and WW/WP. 

This has been a problem for a while. It can happen at any time a WW menu gets loaded. I've not seen exceptions being thrown in these cases, so can't provide data on what triggers it, or where it tripped.

Do you happen to have It's Movie Time installed?

 

I've been having issues with create-a-sim breaking and giving me exception errors related to traits, and removing It's Movie Time seems to have fixed it.  Seems kind of a weird correlation for CAS, so I'm not sure if that's the actual culprit.

just want to put this here because i am sooo desperate to fix the issues i've been encountering and it's making me so frustrated cry emoji . i've tried everything but it seems other people are having the same issues as me which does make me feel a bit better! so yeah, my UI is completely gone. i can't open menus or build mode, can't get into CAS, anything like that, on top of that every time i try to use a wicked command it simply pauses my game. i've tried deleting MCC, BE, betterbuild and also UI cheats just in case. and ofc i've updated every possible other mod and CC that i could (on CF so it was pretty fast and easy)  but also making sure to keep up with updates from creators on patreon and everything they're on but still nothing. still the same issues even with just pretty much having WW, i also haVR LOT library 51 mod (i think thats whats it called?) and the 100 traits on cf and they're also updated i'm pretty sure, and i know they're not broken bc i did use BE before testing things out to figure out if it was WW or not. i think iso since they /shouldn't/ be broken i redownloaded them. oh and i think i saw someone with same problem as me as well where BE showed me broken " trait mod " that i've since then deleted but it still shows up ??? not sure if it's either lot core library 51 or the 100 traits causing that but i don't think so??  i don't have movie time though so idk what it could've been showing up on BE.

 

anyways yeah i think it's just WW at this point. but totally understandable since this new patch update just came out, turbodriver has actually been incredibly fast and i really appreciate their work! just a bit frustrated & hoping these issues can be fixed soon

Also don't bother trying to fix broken Eyelashes yourselves. Using S4S to recategorize eyelashes to the new Eyelash Makeup Slot can be done but does NOT fix those with the alignment issue. Mod Authors owning those eyelashes are to fix them, they will likely recategorize them to the new CAS cat as well.

Umm, don't quote me on it, but I think, yes you do have to go into CAS and change them yourself. I have hundreds of saved sims, and I also have lots of eyelash CC. While I updated all of those I linked, it is about half of my total eyelash CC, PLUS I deleted one other file I believed to be outdated (for unrelated reasons), so it's difficult to tell if sims missing eyelash CC are because of the removed file or due to the updated eyelashes. I also have not been playing much since this update so I haven't looked much into it. 

 

In short, you'll need to update those broken files regardless, be prepared to possibly having to manually update your sims and townies, but be glad you no longer have busted cc.

Ever since installing the latest version (181c), Pick Up Line does not apply the moodlets it's supposed to, either on the Sim using the interaction or the one receiving it. It's not being rejected, I know it worked with 181b, and I've changed absolutely nothing else since I played with 181b. Anyone else seeing this?

 

EDIT: Huh, but it's not working when I switch back to 181b either. I swore it did...

Ever since the few latest update from Sims 4 I get these bluescreen crash, I thought I solve the old one from the last update now this recent one cause again, idk if the mod also cause it because other games outside of sims 4 ran fine.

UPDATE 16/08/24: I started over from scratch (deleted all my saves and made a new one) as well as deleting every other gameplay mod or anything that could be causing issues with my UI or getting into CAS, so like custom traits, gameplay add ons like the simsa dating app, anything like that) now the only real mods i have are wicked whims mods like wicked perversions, vulgar language, BDP and basemental drugs but STILL no issue resolved. I genuinely can't do it anymore. I don't understand the issue.  I do have like over 1000+ CC downloaded and while they shouldn't cause any issues, i have updated the ones that needed fixing, like the eyelashes for example. as well as other automatic updates for CC on Curse. Still nothing. 

 

Just to give more specifications on what happens, for example when i'm playing as my sim and i try to click CAS, the screen just goes black. Also i can never open the menu to just save my game and it doesn't even let me exit the app so i have to restart my PC (but i cancel the action after stream closes). 

And when i try to open CAS from the home menu the screen just goes white. 

Don't know whether it's just EA atp or the mod itself just needs fixing. I really think it's just Wicked Whims but i do find it a bit weird that it's so broken. 

 

UPDATE: Ok so i even tried making a new game WITHOUT wicked whims (trying both the updated and old version) and it's still the same issues with getting into CAS. So, i think it's both EA and the WW mod. Otherwise i don't have any other explanation. Guess i just shouldn't touch my game in a while. 

 

I would really appreciate any help! I doubt if i deleted all my CC as well it would fix the issue so... I think i'll just wait for any responses that could help me or wait until Turbodriver is able to fix these issues. :,)

Is it possible to disable pregnancy moodlets, like "I can't wait to be parent", they really don't work well as they appear before sim even knows they're pregnant, Went through settings and only found ability to disable menstrual cycle moodlets, but not pregnancy ones.

I see some UI related issues and crashes in the recent comments, mine included. For me I experienced crashes only when using the latest version of WW (181c), I reverted back to 180c (still available on his website) which fixed it. My issue was "Ask to Join" (which opens a WW menu) failed to open and even crashed my game. If you are experiencing similar issues it might be from WW and I'd recommend trying v180c.

 

Obviously it could be blah-blah EA's Lovefuck-up at fault among related things, but this was certainly a WW issue at the end of the day for me. Hope this helps.

I think you're totally right! in july i was having no issues with WW whatsoever, so i'll try using v180c instead today. and i agree 100%, i think it's a WW issue at the end of the day, but EA is definitely at fault.

I was having trouble with the game throwing UI exceptions and just going to an infinite loading screen when I tried to use CAS on anyone except my main played sim. Even when I had another sim move in, the game would refuse to load up CAS for her. It was saying I was trying to access the UI without a household loaded or some such thing. The reports listed UI cheats as a possible culprit, and MCCC, and Twisted Mexi's Story Progression.

I started by trying to pull out my least essential mods, deleting localthumbcache and clearing the cache and seeing if that helped. It didn't even when I started pulling out the big mods that I'd have a hard time playing without: MCCC, UI Cheats, Wicked Whims. Finally, I had all the mods out and I restarted the game with mods disabled, and then started adding everything back in a little at a time, then restarting the game and seeing if I could access CAS from my save.

I got pretty much everything reinstalled and the last thing to go in was the old Inappropriate Unlock. What if it's the culprit? I made sure I had teens and family enabled in MCCC instead of using Inappropriate Unlock and then loaded up the Bjergsen family. Teenage Sofia could do sex interactions, but only by herself, not with her family. So ... maybe WW's blanket disallowal of that sort of thing is overriding or conflicting with MCCC? I made sure the family and teen options in MCCC were off, and then reinstalled Inappropriate Unlock.

At least for now it seems like it works. The new sim in my household can plan her outfits with the dresser, and I can click on the portraits for other characters in the connections tab and use MCCC to enter CAS and fix their outfits (especially important now that I took all my CAS CC out and put it back, so I've got a bunch of naked, bald sims). It doesn't seem like two mods fighting over which one will let a pair of brothers double-team their girlfriend should shut down CAS, but TS4 is a kludge and who knows what's going to break something?

Anyway. hopefully that fixed it for me and it'll stay solved.

I did a little testing in regards to my issues with CAS and simology panel making UI break. WW is definitely the culprit somehow

 

Neither WW nor WP - Working fine    
Pre-Ls WW only - UI works fine, CAS loading issues
Pre-Ls WW + WP - UI works fine, CAS loading issues
WP only - CAS functions, UI and interactions broken
Newest WW only - Breaks UI and CAS loading issues
Newest WW + WP - Breaks UI and CAS loading issues
Newest WW + Removing WW Save Data from Saves - UI and CAS still broken

 

Nvm I'm a bit silly. BDP wasnt nearly as up to date as I thought it was lol

So the problem with CAS not loading seems to be fixed, but now there's a new problem: When I'm in CAS it wants to overwrite every family member with the same name and traits. Like I'll go in to make some adjustments to a child so that they don't grow up to be horrifically ugly, but when I enter CAS it comes in on the parent, and then when I switch to the child they have the parent's name and traits. This is especially annoying if I'm working on, like just happened, an infant--so I age them up, adjust them, and age them back down, but now I can't give them an infant trait because CAS is stuck on the adult traits, so I have to just exit out with no changes saved.

I have a few different exceptions. One report says there's a broken trait mod, but says it found 0 broken trait mods. Another says "[manus] matchmaking_service failed to handle on_all_households_and_sim_infos_loaded due to exception (AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'manager')"

I spoke too soon. To see if the other problems I was having were related to having moved a bunch of mods in and out of the game and maybe some artifacts left in the save, I started a new game. I switched to my preferred WW profile, traveled to meet some sims, traveled back home, and tried to use MCCC to access CAS for the other sims. The Better Exceptions report says that a UI exception occurred when I didn't have a household loaded, but I did. It was my household. This is the same error that occurred in my other game when I had a sim move in and tried to have them use the dresser to access CAS.

EDIT: The culprit might be TwistedMexi's mod to automatically put CAS into full edit mode.
