Benmc20 Posted August 10, 2016 Author Posted August 10, 2016 Okayyyyy ... Just saw this right now : Kapusuke 9 Aug @ 1:21pm Japanese version of Fallout 4 is stopped at 1.5.413. When asked by telephone in Bethesda of support was said to be "Less is prospect of an update." It would be why? Benmc20 Posted August 10, 2016 Author Posted August 10, 2016 Actually, if I'm not mistaken, there isn't any mod possible on PS4. So ... I join you on the "mod theft" and make another remark : why, just why do we need to create a Beth account just for download the GECK ? Seriously, why ?
isahale Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Actually, if I'm not mistaken, there isn't any mod possible on PS4. So ... I join you on the "mod theft" and make another remark : why, just why do we need to create a Beth account just for download the GECK ? Seriously, why ? 1.Try to coerce more moders and users to at least have the platform in their head space. 2. Increase control over access to modding tools. Zenimax's goal long term is still the concentration and monetization of mods under their platform their first stab was too much too quickly so they've switched to a method of slowly wearing away at resistance by asking for multiple mild concessions rather than single large environment changes.
Guest Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 The topic of this thread is new version of FO4 is out of beta. Avoid to derail. If you like to discuss a different subject then open a new thread.
Benmc20 Posted August 12, 2016 Author Posted August 12, 2016 1.7.10 is a HUGE improvement of performances (for me at least). My game launches far more quicker than before (no changes mod's wise).
Benmc20 Posted August 12, 2016 Author Posted August 12, 2016 Sooo ... Another ninja update without any form of warning (and breaking F4SE in the process ... again). This time, this 1.7.12.1, so put your steam on offline mode.
tazdotnet Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 wow 651.2 MB?... WTF are they putting in these patches?...
Guest Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 wow 651.2 MB?... WTF are they putting in these patches?... The real problem is the Steam update system. It can only check and replace a whole file. Consider the .ba2 files, they are huge archives with pretty much the whole content. Maybe the diff for the update can be small, but Steam is not able to provide only the difference and reduce the download size in many cases. Some game providers, use the specific patch system (that is a different way to give updated content through Steam), but I am not aware of Bethesda using it.
Benmc20 Posted August 14, 2016 Author Posted August 14, 2016 F4SE 0.2.4 for Fallout 4 patch 1.7.12 is up. I wonder when the next mini-patch will be sent by Gstaff.
Benmc20 Posted September 2, 2016 Author Posted September 2, 2016 Okay, another ninja update : this time 1.7.15 and F4Se not updated. Beth begins to really irk me. Edit > No changelog available for now on the official forums.
jaam Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Yes there is, just as there was for the previous updates, check the devnotes site on Bethesda.net.
moddinggamer6646 Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 from the update changelog Fallout 4 1.7.15 Update FIXES Fixed issue with Nuka-World monorail not starting properly
Halstrom Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 from the update changelog Fallout 4 1.7.15 Update FIXES Fixed issue with Nuka-World monorail not starting properlyThey fix gamebreaking things and people complain it breaks their game, they can never win...........

Problem isn't here in fact. I'm glad they continue to fix (at lesat try) gamebreaking bugs, but I'm irked by their lack of communication about upcoming patches. Especlally with teams like xxSE one.

Especlally with teams like xxSE one. They probably got bosses telling them to meet deadlines to finalise things and meet KPI's. They probably sacked most of the team or moved them to other projects and running on skeleton staff now. They aren't going to waste time communicating with non-corporate entities, there's no profit in it on the spreadsheet.
Benmc20 Posted September 3, 2016 Author Posted September 3, 2016 Waste time ? Wait ! One post in the forums takes ... 5 minutes ? Just 1/2 day before actual launch ?
jaam Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 2 days before they did not even know this issue existed ! Talk about a no win situation
Miarc007 Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 It looks like some people at bethseda could benefit from attending an "effective communications" course
Benmc20 Posted September 3, 2016 Author Posted September 3, 2016 2 days before they did not even know this issue existed ! Talk about a no win situation On this particular case maybe ? But why the urgency ? Why not to wait another day ? It looks like some people at bethseda could benefit from attending an "effective communications" course True enough.
Jerbsinator Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Patches happen, I don't understand the butthurt entitlement. I can't play either but there are other things to do in life than play Fallout 4.
Crowzer Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Actually it's been a few weeks that I didn't play Fallout 4 and obviously, when I want to come back, there is a patch....
Halstrom Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 I don't run any mods using F4SE so I haven't had any problems, I don't even see the point of installing it till it adds some useful Papyrus commands.
Benmc20 Posted September 4, 2016 Author Posted September 4, 2016 I don't run any mods using F4SE so I haven't had any problems, I don't even see the point of installing it till it adds some useful Papyrus commands. As a foreign player (meaning : non US), my keyboard isn't recognised like it would be if Beth wasn't so lazy. So, I must rely to a functionnality of F4Se : CustomControls.txt. Without that, it's simple, I can't play proprely this game.
Varithina Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 I don't run any mods using F4SE so I haven't had any problems, I don't even see the point of installing it till it adds some useful Papyrus commands. Place anywhere is pretty much the main mod I run that uses this, though showlooksmenu is one I use a bit as well, I tend to change my characters hair and face quite often.
Benmc20 Posted September 4, 2016 Author Posted September 4, 2016 I haven't installed "Place Anywhere" for now (must do), but I'm currently using those mods who require F4SE : - "LooksMenu" - "Achievements Enabler" And of course I'm using the CustomControlKeys file (my keyboard isn't an US ANSI one). Three reasons to use F4SE, four when I've installed "Place Anywhere".
