Guest Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Can you post the link to the page is giving you problems? I will have a look.
Ky Kiske Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 I too kind of have this issue but once the page has finished loading I can open spoilers and see quotes normally, happens in any topic for me.
xgkf Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Same. While a page is loading, I can't open any spoiler tags, but once the page is done (ie, once all images have loaded, such as in one of the screenshot threads, and the little loading icon in the tab has stopped spinning), the spoiler tags function normally. This didn't seem to be a problem as of yesterday or the day before.
Guest Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Then please wait for the full page to load. I cannot really reproduce the problem. Tried with Chrome, FF 47 and Edge. But for me pages load pretty quickly.
xgkf Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Fair enough, just confirming other's comments on the issue and noting that it seemed to be a recent hiccup/bug/glitch/whatever.
Guest Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Fair enough, just confirming other's comments on the issue and noting that it seemed to be a recent hiccup/bug/glitch/whatever. Yep. I tried for about half an hour. But I didn't had problems. Also with pages with tons of heavy images in it (like animated gifs thread.) But the problem is that my internet connection is really fast, so everything was fully loaded before I was able to click on a spoiler tag. I am sorry about this site behavior.
bjornk Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 TEST Edit: The spoiler above works for me, but certain features of the forum have been loading pretty slowly since yesterday, like the editor and section headings. Might be related.
EternalDamned Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 I had this problem yesterday, waited several minutes and it wouldn't open...went to the previous page and was then able to open the spoiler tags.
swords and sandals Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Just to add some extra observations to this. The site has been running differently for the last few days. The changes I've noticed: - Clicking to sign in no longer produces a drop-down menu but takes you to a new page, and a second age gate to click. Not a big deal just different to how it was so might be related to any other problems. - Clicking to mark a forum as viewed from within a forum is telling me I don't have permission to do it. Clicking the round blue button next to a forum from outside it still works. - Spoiler tags can't be opened. - When someone quotes a post the top part of the quote box - including who they're quoting - is cut off. - Selecting someone's signature if you want to hide it isn't possible, it just takes you to the top of the page instead. - Selecting a post to copy a link to doesn't open up the link to copy. This morning, for a while, some of these problems seemed to have been fixed: - spoiler tags could be opened provided the page had finished fully loading (before they could always be opened before this) - marking a forum as read from within that forum worked again - quote box fully displayed in messages But as of right now they're all back to not working again for me. As an example of a post containing a non-working spoiler and a cut-off quote box, take a look at post 4775 by kreeling on this page. (Can't link the post directly due to the problems.) Right now for me, every single spoiler tag or quote box on the site I've seen has the same issues. Finally, I'm using Firefox in case that's relevant. Hopefully that can help.
bjornk Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 The first thing I always do as soon as I log in to LL is to close/hide the sections that I never use, such as the "Oblivion" and "Fallout 4" sections. I toggle them off by clicking on the '+' button on the section heading and when I reload/refresh the main page those sections load as closed/hidden. For the last a few days however, those sections load as opened and they are closed after the entire page is loaded. This was the first change I noticed a few days back. I wonder if it's some kind of caching problem.
Guest endgameaddiction Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Spoilers sometimes fail to respond because the page is still loading. I had this happen before here and other sites. Normally if you see that it's still loading and taking too long, refresh the page, or close it and reopen it.

Normally if you see that it's still loading and taking too long, refresh the page, or close it and reopen it. That was indeed the case earlier on today - after waiting for the page to load the spoilers could be opened - but for the previous day or so before that they simply wouldn't open for me whatsoever, and that's what's happening again this afternoon. The spoiler in your signature, for example, I can't open at all, and the page has definitely finished loading. I click on the button and nothing happens. EDIT: Looks like it might be a Firefox issue. Things seem to be working on Safari.
myuhinny Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Probably a firefox issue I believe firefox just recently updated to a newer version just the other day I don't use firefox I use chrome and the only problem I have is in the gif thread when trying to open a spoiler it takes awhile to open as it takes awhile for the page to load any other spoiler opens fine though.
afa Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 Well it seems like I am running into this problem right now. Spoiler won't show regardless if the page is fully loaded or not, images also can't be click and expand, but dragging it to a new tab works. It is VERY recent too. It was working about 2 hours ago, but now it stop working. Using firefox if it is relevant. test spoiler: test test test Update: It seems to be working fine now about 2 hours later. Didn't really do anything to try to fix it.
Vortec Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 I too can confirm Firefox Spoiler not working, this page and others. Just tried it in Chrome same issue.
Guest Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 Please clean up you cache. This usually solve the problem on both FF and Chrome.
Guest Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Shit! Looks like it's my turn, on Chrome... TEST Please clean up your browaser cache. If you use Chrome, be sure you select "from begin of time". The server caching is updated quite often right now, and this problem may appear in the next days. Cleaning the cache solves the problem (only side effect: you have to login again.) And because we are upgrading the software for the site, probably this problem will go away completely in about one week.
bjornk Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 For fuck sake! I've just edited my message above and posted it but the it didn't show up! Cache is cleared. I always use Chrome in Incognito mode and just restarted the browser. The one above works, and upon refreshing the page, I was able to open the spoiler which refused to open. Some weird shit is going on with the forum software...

Just assume a "Zen"/"Yoga"/"Relax"/"I don't care, everything is good" position for the upcoming week.
