You also have a Studio mode, which let you place any character you want, where you want, position them the way you like, or in a pose you want, play with lighting, you can let your imagination run wild.

Anyone having an idea why HoneyShot sometimes throws out fucked up screenshots, or stops making the supersampled screenshots altogether?

 

Here's an example (normally the transparency looks black as PNG original)

I do "posing" (I'm bad at it) in Studio Neo and I use Prt Scr to take pictures (it then just automatically goes into the game's installation folder). I never noticed any bugs in my pictures that way (sorry if that's not what you are looking for though; but that transparency bug in your example isn't something I've seen before).

 

And, on a separate note, is there any examples of good / known Posing, Modeling artists for this game around? Like maybe on Deviant Art or anywhere?

Memory issues. Also if you run a shit ton of scripts ala Joan's mods/Shotcut/plastic mind since it's in unity it will hang like fuck and you'll literally catch the model before shit is applied to it by an external library.

 

Also it's a back-rendered game so any external aliasing plasticmind or not will literally have to be injected, which leads to stuff like that.

Got some questions after spending some more time with the NEO Studio and Charamaker:

 

 

1) Is it even possible to directly manipulate joints like fingers, facial muscles, neck  etc in Neo?

 

 

2) Are there any mods / settings to fix the terrible selfshadows in Neo when you only use the Light Objects instead of ambient?

With LRE / HSIBL, Lighting Editor etc (probably missing something here)

 

 

3) Using HS ResolveMoreSlotID - some of my Saw Hairstyles are replaced by unwanted ones permanently, neither reinstall nor the tool are bringing them back.:

Well the HoneyShot screenshot always seems to stop working after some time in NEO. Luckily all the settings are being saved now, so it works at least to save + restart the program within a few secs.

Yep, but bear in mind you'll have to reload unless you make separate permanent parameter file in the chara folder and I'm assuming you want these for poses, then you basically need to make a default parameter file for the base char and a temp you can just do whatever with for specific posing.

All settings are in the neo path of HSIBL, in the config folder, you can create an xml per lighting scheme if you want to get ridiculous with it, and self shadowing can be enabled or disabled there

If the modder's an asshole virgin, no. If the modder's a cool chad, yes; they'll be marked by a prefix or suffix that's consistent across the mod and all the items in it.

 

What you should have done is not dl every MEGA folder from the pastebin and then jammed them in all once, but rather install them one by one from an archive dock with separate folders for each and see what they do if you need to nuke it, and also keep a literal back up on a different drive of your last good working version,; yes, all 20 gigs of it.  PhotoPhapping is serious motherfucking business, and only the pro-est survive.

 

There's actually a utility for assigning a different UnityItemID with four extra digits for a literal metric fuckton of item catalog combinations by sequential install order so your system hangs even harder and longer so this shit doesn't happen, but I'm pretty sure it got 86'd when HongFire went offline and I don't think it was hosted anywhere else. If I happen to find it still, I'll throw you a link.

Yes for posing, the HS "game" itself doesn't interest me. Character creation and screenshots are super-addictive though.

 

Alright but you can't just enable them for IK /FK  controls?

 

I saw in a scene card that there were some kind of "Finger" etc joints attached to body parts, but i couldn't figure out what it did and how to create that.

Someone mentioned that the "Sharp" shadow method is the problem and the lower quality doesn't have the blocky backside shadows, will have to test that later.

For the lights themselves you actually have full control in Neo with LRE / HSIBL / Lighting Editor / Rendering Assistant and Joan's various mods.

 

BTW Joan took over HSIBL recently, cool new stuff there like color grading, DoF / SSAO controls etc with the LRE interface.

 Well sadly there wasn't anything resembling the "KK" tag. I could track it down by sorting the abdata/chara folders by date, then checking the mod collection archive previews.

 

In case anyone has the same problem, the offending mod is called "[Kzohoge] Kzo_Hairs" from the MEGA repository. It also has a few excellent back/bangs styles, so you can just delete the files tagged with "set" from its respective chara (3x) and list (1x) folders. Then you got all Saw styles and the Kzohoge partials.

 

I guess the problem is that the mod is really old, so MoreSlotID and ResolveMoreSlotID don't catch the conflict. Though i don't fully understand yet how Unity3D modding works; another reminder how useful Bethesda's Gamebryo engine actually is for modding.

Well thanks for the replies, i also have another issue:

 

Around 95% of the installed Neo Studio items don't show up in game; after running HiR Neo, i can see the added categories in japanese but there are no items inside.

 Bonemod can do that per scene that's what it's for, but again unless you change them in the chara folder it's per scene, so if you want a 7BO "skeleton" set up for a glamazon Jelena Jensen type character, you need a .txt file in the chara folder for those permanent settings that go beyond the in-game slider, and then you use bonemod while in your scene to like push up bra or hands or fingers being certain ways, or whatever.

Seems like HS is quite complex in how it draws the models, the height slider doesn't just scale XYZ but most body parts individually.

 

TBH in the pics with the purple night elf i can't really tell a difference from Skyrim's 7BO original.

Those are the things you'll edit with bonemod after you open the scene

 

The obvious question is did the package install to the right place, a lot of honey modders, especially chinese ones have the habit of hardcoding the packages so shit installs where they think it should go, not where ever you need it to go for your particular install.

 

A shit ton of LRE cubes and a bunch of custom maps also have this same issue, you actually have to "install it" outside of honey select and the re-assemble it how it's actually supposed to go in the game in the proper folder structure, and then throw it in there.
 

Well i fiddled around with HSPE for a while; you can edit practically everything live with its Bone Editor. Not in its main IK pose editor, but under Advanced in the Bones tab.

Gaping asshole, squeeze or stretch pussy etc. Problem is mostly finding the bones.

I don't know about you but 12K verts versus 6K especially in the shoulder, delts, under arm and pecs much less knee area is p damn obvious, also no daedric hip and buttshelf for nonchinese or butt blade and hexagonal ass for chinese.

 

Why Skyrim modders keep sticking to sub 7K verts is beyond me when anything from a 780 up can handle ten times the geometry skyrim throws out as long as manage your budget on npcs per cell. I mean hothtrooper slapped literally up to ten armors together and just made them invisible to the camera, the engine is still rendering all that stapled together shit even if you can't see it, and the game is fine.

Alright i must admit that i already had lost interest in HS, because - except the CharaMaker there isn't anything to do besides the NEO Studio, and working with that is extremely time-consuming and exhausting. Also many assets required for proper scenes (like Skybox meshes or clean, rendered HSIBL Cubemaps) don't even seem to exist.

Apparently PlayHome has 1000x better stuff for photorealistic environment like the Unity Sceneloader, but it's probably gonna take 1-2 years until other mods from HS are ported for that (like the realistic pubes etc).

Since the question for posing advice has been asked, i'm gonna quickly demonstrate how to control everything yourself with the HSPE Advanced Bone Editor.

 

 

 


Example, i'm working on this scene to showcase some of my creations - a friendly single mom eager to introduce you to her two daughters.

As you can see, the two girls on the right wear GGmod high heels, but the one on the left doesn't.
 
Now i want her to stand on her toes to better match the heel height of the others.

1) Open HSPE and Adv. Mode
2) Bones Tab (open by default)
3) click on the bookmark for R. Foot (bottom-right)
4) select cf_J_Toes01_R
5) Rotation - X controls how contracted the toe muscles are

So that basically works on everything, not just fingers or toes.
For positioning of tits, clothes and hair, there are the Boobs and Dynamic Bones tabs but you probably figured that out already.

All pics except the group shots are done in the CharaMaker with LRE/HSIBL and CMMod. Colorgrading is also done ingame with HSIBL.

Does anyone know how to import HoneySelect animation clips into Blender?  I am able to extract those clips but don't know how to use them.  Currently I am working on DOA5LR animations and really want to import some from HoneySelect.
