I just got it a couple of days ago, not very high in levels, and it doesn't seem like it's very fair to the lowbies, but that just makes it a little bit more interesting because it requires that much more teamwork :P

I have test it, but that's nothing for me...

In my opinion, the most first person shooters are crap vengeance CoD

It's just my opinion

Then you haven't played many FPS'.

I've been playing FPS since the granddaddy of them all, Wolfenstein 3D, and yeah, there's a lot of CoD clones out there, mainly because they're hoping to capitalize on the success of the series, which, ironically, has nothing to do with the game itself, but more to do with the marketing behind it.  The only real similarity between CoD and Planetside 2 is that you carry a gun, and it ends there.  Planetside 2 is more of an evolution of the original Planetside, which came out before CoD was a pop culture series.  You don't see massive battles in any of the CoD games like you see in Planetside 2.  CoD doesn't require teamwork, dedication, or planning.  It's a simple run, gun, and talk trash game.  The closest game, that I can think of, to Planetside 2 would be Battlefield 2 or 3, with a leaning more towards 3, just because of the way the vehicles handle.  If you join an in game outfit, it helps a lot, as you can more easily join squads and play with people you're familiar with, which, after awhile, works extremely well, as you get to know each other's play styles and can compensate for any weaknesses in strategy.

I know about PS2.. and this game is just nothing for 'cause in my eyes all or mostly all FPS are the same, the storyline, the gameplay, the effects and so on. I have played many FPS but all of them are crap in my eyes and i have also said that is just my opinion :) and i think it is not forbidden to say his own opinion =D

I also know about the good things on that game, but I like RPG's MMO's or something like Dead Space /Mass Effect better, 'cause Iam a (fangirl  ) of the story and the gameplay.

Fallout 3 and New Vegas have FPS shooter things in it, break it down to its core, Mass Effect is still a shooter.  You can't simply say "It's a shooter, it sucks"  just because games like CoD trashed the genre. I don't know if you've played the Halo series, but that's all about story.

I've played all games of the Halo series and ME1 was an more likely RPG shooter, ME2/3 are third person shooter with an epic story.

i refer not only to one game, but the most of the shooters and or rpg shooter are quiet the same. But games like ME have a well-told story with a free choice how it will end, if good or bad. But yeah mostly fps have an 2hour story or campaign and an really boring Multiplayer.

Fallout 3 and New Vegas are also crap in my eyes, e.g. the dlc Mothership Zeta... what the hell has this to do with Fallout ???

The Story is for my to short and it makes no fun to be Lvl 30 and kill everything with onehit.. where is the fun of this thing ?

New Vegas is like Fallout 3, bad story and bad gameplay. Only the two DLC's Old World Blues and Dead Money were great, 'cause both of them are crazy. And I love crazy things or games where it means Play to Die or something like this.

And PS2 is not as good as some other games. Yeah it has a new fightsystem with that massively map, but I need a good story for playing something like that. I have played the Halo series just because of the story and I must say that Halo 4 is more than crap in my eyes, but it has no matter here in this thread.

I wouldn't argue with you, I just want to represent my opinion in FPS/RPG-FPS and so on.

Planetside 2 is not in any way a story driven game. Judging it from that perspective is a bit unfair on what the game is designed to be. Personally I don't consider it an RPG-FPS myself either. I tend to think of those as having a larger focus on character development and story, but I suppose you could make the argument based on the unlock system.

As an MMO-FPS though I'd say the game is pretty damn good. 2000 players on a single map is an impressive feat and definitely good fun. Joining a good outfit makes a ton of difference too. The amount of difference an organised platoon can make is not to be underestimated, and as with all MMO style games playing with friends is always more fun :D My Computer, sadly does not like the game though :P

im surprised so many are tr with the trailer and most of the devs being nc or vs thought they would get more votes

Well, it's either fighting for the Imperium of Man, "freedom fighters", or a bunch of xenos worshiping HERETICS.

I choose the Imperium of Man.

TR, oddly enough, seems to be the underdogs, even though they have the best color scheme out of all the options xD

At least the times I'm on anyway.

Planetside 2 is fun, but the amount of time you need to invest to unlock things is just ridiculously long and unfun and the reason that I will no longer play this game. One weapon costs 1000 credits, which easily takes at least 100+ hours of gameplay to achieve (this is for ONE weapon) This game is obviously designed for paying customers and I understand that, at the end of the day they want to make money, but it shouldn't lock the non paying customers in an endless grind that feels like a huge chore.
