I tried with just DWR and LF as they seemed both stable and compatible, no other mods either from lovers lab or steam. And still It crashed after a few years. I am not playing in Ironman.

I tried looking at the file as you said but could'nt really understand where things went wrong.

Alright - one thing - you need to unsubscribe from the Steam Workshop mod called Invite a Pagan Wanderer for Vanilla, or if you've a different version, you need to get rid of it.

That's the very first entries in your error.log, and just viewing that mod front page on Steam shows it is an abandoned mod, unless you got it from somewhere else showing it as current.

While there are a bunch of LF errors, they might not be your issue. Several of them look like they're for potential checks for additional mod functionality, so they may not have any other impact. Although to be certain - I'd recommend double-checking with them in that support thread - if removing the Invite a Pagan Wanderer for Vanilla mod doesn't fix things.

Ditch the Dark World Extras mod. At least the version you're trying to use looks to be so out of date.

Thanks! I did not know mods you did not activate could do that.

There seems to be a problem with the (supposed) event for the modifier "dw_big_dick_known" for the player. I noticed that my game would constantly crash randomly some years after starting, but if I manually add in this modifier for my character the game runs fine after that.

Please see if this is an actual bug.

What information brought you to this conclusion? Were you just adding random event modifiers, or did something point you at that specifically?

Also - since that modifier is NOT part of Dark World Reborn, why are you bringing it up here?

@dewguru Is there anything in your mod that would cause characters to randomly become celibate?

No. However, Celibate is a trait, so if you were playing from a saved game, and you updated, added, or removed a mod that would have resulted in an increased or decreased number of traits, then you've just borked your game.

For example, let's say I posted an update to Dark World Reborn and it included a new trait. If you update your mod, and then resume a save game, then the new trait throws everything out of whack, causing a ripple effect of trait changes across the entire game. (NOTE: this is an example, we're on DWR version 1.81, and the last time a trait was added was 1.79, so unless you had a save game from the 1.78 build, this shouldn't apply due to DWR.)

The reason why it throws everything out of whack, is because when you start a CK2 game, it actually takes all of the traits and builds a game session table that it can quickly reference. If the number of traits you have changes, it causes the save game to rebuild that table. This causes an issue as say if on the original table, diligent had a reference of 0001, but due to the addition or removal of traits, and the table rebuilt, celibate might now be 0001. So suddenly, in your game, everyone who had the diligent trait, now has the celibate trait.

Thats why I try to warn folks if an update adds a trait or not, because it breaks save games. Still, I've forgotten to warn people sometimes, and in my experience - other modders may forget or not even be aware of it themselves.

I didn't change any mods in that save. I was just annoyed when my sister-wife, and later my chinese princess wife kept becoming celibate (god I love polygamy).

Were you knocking them up? If so, the DLC that adds a bunch of pregnancy related options, like improving the mood of your pregnant wife, also has wife specific events, where they can do things like pray a lot for strength, and when their pregnancy is over, they've got an option to basically become celibate or not as a form of thanks for the successful pregnancy.

So, it sounds like you're seeing standard CK2 stuff, and just being on the wrong side of the RNG for your wives.

No. I'd already gotten the kids out of my brides (console commands and cheat mods are the best) and I wasn't paying attention to their character sheets after the kids and the occasional sex scene thanks to your mod and Luxuria Fantasia.

It's annoying but I don't care enough to try doing something about it right now. I'm not properly angry about it yet.

I've not looked into the vanilla events to know for certain, however, when you use console commands and cheat mods - it is indeed possible to cause issues. Some things in CK2 operate via flags or delayed events, so you might think you knocked something out, while something is still going on related to it.

For example, if you do things like removing the cough trait, the underlying sickness that may be impacting your character could still be there.

I did a quick search in the vanilla CK2 to see what kind of things can cause someone to become celibate. I could easily have missed things, but this is just to give you an idea. Some of these are pretty fucked up.

- Someone who's been in hiding too long can get a little stir crazy, with becoming celibate.

- A daughter can object to a marriage and become celibate

- A PTSD outcome of battle can have one become celibate

- An heir can try to improve their standing with the church by becoming celibate

- A decision between alcohol and god can result in one becoming celibate

- Someone can repudiate their wife and she becomes celibate

- A Mother's chastity vow during pregnancy can result in her becoming celibate (this is the one I see usually)

- There are religious vow of celibacy events that provide it.

- The Hedonist Lifestyle events can result in one being celibate

- One can end up celibate for not taking a younger woman over their older wife...

- Religious seclusion to deal with being lustful can end in celibacy

- Being a monk or nun can result in it being added

- Mourning a dead wife can leave one celibate

- Some Holy Order / Knight Templar events can leave one celibate

- Someone who's chaste might be like, 'fuck it, I'm going full on celibate'

- Getting help in dealing with some sins can leave you celibate

Some of the above have multiple events that can result in it. And like I said, I'm certain my search structure missed some.

And here is a count for how many instances there are where Dark World Reborn includes the add_trait = celibate command.... 0

So, it sucks that it's happening, but after searching through the DWR mod, I only use celibate as a trait check (seeing if someone has it), rather than assigning it to anyone.

Sorry, the actual modifier is "dw_big_dick_public" and its under the "event_modifiers" folder in the "dw_body_related" text file.

I came to this conclusion after looking at the different Ai characters and seeing that they had this modifier but I myself had never encountered any event that gave it to my characters (Note: at this time most my games with DW were crashing after a few years of starting so I was just wondering why that may be so). I went off on my hunch by manually adding the modifier to my characters with the console and the game stop crashing after that like it did before.

Hello @dewguru!

Bug report, maybe...?

The random events, while on campaign, don't seem to fire!

I have been fighting wars and I'm always leading the army for over 50 years now!

The wars last for over 1-4 years...

Thanks!

I looked at how "dw_big_dick_public" was being used, and I don't see anything that would cause an issue, and it's been in there as it presently is for months now.

What size was your character packing, and what was the starting parameters for your game session. I'll see if I can recreate it.

I've played two different test sessions over the past week that both reached a century of play time with no crashes, so I'm clearly not experiencing the same issue you are. I typically play Shattered World games, but only with my mod, so I don't experience any potential mod conflicts.

Thanks a lot for the help, no crashes so far! Just one last question: I came out as a werewolf, but haven't found where to establish specie's dominance? Some of my vassals have done it but where is the option ?

Thanks again.

I found the event ids DWBody.100 and DWBody.105 responsible for the "dw_big_dick_public" modifier under the events folder in the DWBody.txt file.

In a game with only DWR installed, I ran the event commands on console and they both immediately crash the game.

I looked into the code and found an error with the lines "window = "sastBiggerEventWindow"; changed both of them to "window = "BiggerEventWindow" and now the event works fine and does not crash:

Well, that would seem to cause an issue. Interestingly though, in going back through the mod file history, that mistake has been in there ever since those events were first introduced back in October.

And that event has run for folks other than myself, as they've even commented on it specifically.

Now, clearly, I had a typo that the game was somehow more tolerant of. I wonder if something changed with one of their 3.x updates that stopped being so forgiving.

All in all, I do appreciate your catching that. I've looked at that event probably half a dozen times in the past two days, and my focus was never on a bad window name.

Alright, I wasn't planning on having an update out this soon originally, but I started wrapping up my work when I realized I had enough for an update, and I didn't even add those traits yet - so the update would still be save game compatible.

Then Tom Cucker found an issue that could be definitely causing some headaches for folks, and I thought that it'd pretty much cement the idea that I should release what I've got now. So, I'm working on wrapping up the Vampire portion mention in the change log below before I package and post things, but it should be posted in the next several hours.

Upcoming change log

v1.82 (Dark World Reborn)
    - More events (new yearly random; more Omega Male and Bitch events)
    - Tweaked on_yearly_pulse values to hopefully result in things happening a little more frequently.
    - Dark Knight random even should only run once for people with Heroes/Villains game rule off.
    - Contributed content from Drax70 (some image replacements and resizing for uniformity)
    - Contributed content from Jim Raynor (Visit random event - requires a Polygamy situation)
    - Replaced a couple smaller mod images with larger versions for the larger event window. Removed some old unused images.
    - New decision to specifically go out and use a bitch or omega male (can be used against players if the player is a bitch or omega)
    - New decision for vampires to target prisoners for feeding, making thralls, mentally ruining, or turning into vampires.
    - Vampire thralls, and sired vampires are now obedient for a time period (character modifier flag that ensures they agree to your demands politically)
    - Fixed a bad custom reference in the Painting event that was causing a CTD. (thx Tom Cucker)
    - Fixed the Omega Male and Bitch start. The Omega Male had the change for pregnancy instead of the Bitch...
    - Fixed a few is_visible checks on some traits where I got my FROM and ROOT perspective mixed up.

Update posted. No traits were added, so it should be save game compatible, plus if you had the crash related to the Painter event chain, it should now be corrected.

The Vampire feeding on prisoners works, but if you use it, you'll notice the first option (feeding) has content, while the other 3 are just straight results being applied. That was so I could wrap things up and get it posted. I'll be finishing that up here in the next update, but as I said - it does work. It just is missing a follow-up event with narrative text.

Thanks @dewguru!

Don't forget to delete the static portrait pictures and the option to pick one, as an event ( "too many clicks" whining ? ). Better as a cycle diplomacy option for the next update, in my opinion!

By the way, in the previous version, when I sell branded slaves, I don't get the money they already have....

Edit: The "DWFuta.130" event, with the merchant event visit, shows the dwarf lady picture, not a futa picture!

Again, Thank you!
