Camelcrush Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 I'm not yet bored with Fallout 4 at 156 hours which is some pretty light play from me so far. I'm actually very happy I was able to pull myself off of the game for awhile while waiting. I want MOD's need mods before I give up hope and absolutely rip this game apart start to finish. Otherwise I'm going to install a mod start a new game find another mod I like and start a new game. Then another mod I like and start again, and again, and again only able to get a few small missions done before doing it all over again. To put my playtime in perspective my Skyrim copy on just steam is at 721 hours not to mention I played it on two seperate PS3's (both PS3's dead now so I can't check) long before I built the computer I have now just to play moded PC games. My overall guess for Skyrim is about 1300 hours I'd say. Mods have at least doubled my play time of skyrim which is saying a lot about the people creating mods. Great Job!
Mondo80 Posted February 5, 2016 Author Posted February 5, 2016 For Skyrim how necessary was the creation kit to develop the sexlab framework? I've seen perk mods on nexus made using FO4edit on there for a while now. what perks are you talking about?.you wouldn't mine linking them would you? Pretty much the entire category: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/searchresults/?src_cat=27 Here is a specific one that was edited with FO4edit: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/9465/?
garg Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Well they did announce anther E3 press conference. Maybe they'll save the ck announcement for then lol. Right.. "Sorry gyz, it's not coming to next year, ok.. sorry..."
darkdragonlove Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 What the heck is Beth doing? They should already know modding is the primary strength of their games. That's what made Skyrim so successfu. And now they are stalling at this critical moment? the creation kit for skyrim(11.11.11) was released in february but is a elder scroll. Fallout 4(11,11,15) have bigger dlc and more bug to correct. wait for one week or two for sometime new I'm no expert on business models, so I'm just talking out of my ass trying to explain what I've seen over the past few years. I may in part know why Bethesda is taking so long to introduce the FO4 GECK to the world. You know a sad thing I've noticed a LOT of companies doing lately? Teasing their audience. They do it to get a wider audience, I guess... raise everyone's hopes and expectations for something that's guaranteed to be great, until a lot of people can't wait for it anymore... then they release it to a horde of content hungry savages... an example could be McDonalds and the McRib. So Bethesda knows people want this, and they know no matter how long it takes them to release it that once they do release the GECK everybody will rush to get it; meanwhile, many of the people who might use it but don't know about it (yeah they exist) will learn about it and build anticipation for it... Idk if this is the true reason; I don't even know how well it works, most of the time it just teases the already-fans and that's kinda just rude. I can guarantee you, however, once they finally release it people will be VERY EXCITED, whereas if it came with the game already then what's the big deal? You expected it... it's there... no extra anticipation. Waiting sucks. It's almost literally killing me!!! But in the end, I think it'll pay off. As oniric1 said, one big benefit is it gives them a LOT more time to fine tune it, ironing out the bugs and maybe even expanding its capabilities.
Reepa7 Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 One thing I fear in why Bethesda taking so long to release the GECK. paid modding. Shortly after the release of Fallout 4 I read an article where one of the devs was talking about porting mods over to consoles. While I don't want mods to go to consoles, there's nothing I can do. But i feel like Bethesda will try something, like allowing an authors work to be ported to playstation store or xbox market place and they'll get a percentage...just a thought anyway..
sgfhk321 Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 So Beth wants to use their games as platforms and profit from the contents modders make. Well, I am OK with that as long as the PC master race continues to enjoy its privileges. Let the console peasants pay for mods and satisfy Beth.
arandomperson23 Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Seeing a few comments on paid mods. Bethesda already confirmed there will be no paid mods for any platform. The mod porting system is to make sure console users don't brick their systems trying to install 4k textures or script extenders. It's going to be free for everyone. If they had used any shady language I would doubt it myself but they straight up said no paid mods. It would be a huge PR problem if they went back on their word (see Payday 2) and they know it.
Wired Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 It's not like the waiting is necessary because F4 is just modded Skyrim Legendary Edition. What the heck they are wasting time for?
Volodja1 Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 Hopefully something great...The Skyrim creation kit came out on february 7th. I recon they need some extra time to add and test the console support, so maybe it will arrive later this month. I sure hope so
Guest Mogie56 Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 A lot has to be taken out of the CK/GECK then re-worked so it will actually function with the game. They won't release it with all "their" goodies intact they never have. this time around it may take longer to release it because many things were changed/added they didn't have before. It isn't all about instant gratification, it needs to launch and work with the game whether your patient or not. If it is going to alter your life that much, you may need to find something "else" to do.

The mcrib is seasonal because of pork shortage back when it was invented. Thats also the reason its all year round in most European countries To be honest there's no point in building hype, as its a free tool. Plus everyone already knows about mods, skyrim and fallout 3 and vegas made sure of that. Thing is, mod tools like this are generally an asspile of work since you have create a software from the ground up, because the stuff used in development is completely shit for consumers. Along with that they are probably sinking a shit ton of time to create peasant machine compatibility.
Rpgamer123 Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 Agreed only a few years to go before I buy Fallout 4. Its makes me sad because after playing these games with mods it seems like all the games are in alpha until the mods are out for them....But on the upside when the mods do finally get here that steam sale will have the FO4 game for like 19 bucks...WIN !
ralfetas Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 I read a lot of people in reddit, LL, steam and even nexus, writing that they finish the game and now are bored, to be honest, i am too, so i am modding, i think modding is the key to the game live more in my view. I just cannot stop comparing FO4 to Skyrim, skyrim i play a LOT without any mods and DLC, FO4 needs DLC and Mods, examples i see, in skyrim you load the game and you know were you are, you know the roads, each place is different from another, in FO4 all looks the same, the roads are there but i just don't use it, you can go in a straight line to any place, of course glowing see is different, in skyrim vendors and npc's are a key to the game, you need the vendors even if you are level 9999, you have to buy stuff all the time, in FO4 vendors are just there, you don't need them, you get everything from the wasteland, from medice to guns, you just don't have to buy nothing... In FO4 you can build the city you want, but with the people cap, the "city" just don't look natural, don't look a city, is a fake city... So i think geck is the key to make FO4 a great game, there is no point to bethesda create hype, they have to release it asap...
bc733 Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 I'd prefer they make sure things are working properly before release. As I recall Skyrims CK was pretty much useless for months after release due to a nav mesh issue.
graymare Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 Bethesda has stated to expect an announcement soon. Apologies, I don't have the link handy; found it with a saved Google search for "Fallout 4 creation kit" that doesn't find the same results today that it did on Monday. I tend to agree with Yoda and the series "Kung Fu"....Patience, Grasshopper... Go save some more settlements from Raiders/Mutants/Gunners/Forged or rescue a kidnapped settler...
sgfhk321 Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 "Bethesda has stated to expect an announcement soon." They tell us they are going to tell us something? Sometimes people do weird things.
ralfetas Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 They said in their twitter. "We know you’re ready to learn what’s coming for Fallout 4 DLC. We’re not far off, and we think you’ll be excited." Nothing for creation kit... And "We’re also doing a complete overhaul of Fallout 4 Survival mode. Food, sleep, diseases, danger and more. Stay tuned." Patch related...
sgfhk321 Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 Oh, Beth released an unfinished game again. Classic Beth.
alistairchiss Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 This is the closest we have from them about GECK. David @Godly_shit1 Jan 24 @Fallout when are mods coming to console? Cant wait #hype FalloutVerified account@Fallout @Godly_shit1 we’ll be sharing more details soon. stay tuned.
loverslab987 Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 Honestly, since it already took Bethesda almost 3 months to officially release a decent patch which actually fixes and improves shit (I don't count the lousy patch from December), I don't expect the GECK to be out anytime before the next update. My guess is, they'll release both simultaneously either late March or even April. Also after the GECK is out, it'll probably take a couple of weeks until the first alpha / beta sex mods are done. And then it'll be even longer until there is anything remotely resembling the mods we currently have for Skyrim. I think, we're talking about the second half of 2016 until bigger mods and overhauls become available. I don't get bethesda idea in modding... You can change and add stuff, but you still need nifscope or something to decode NIF files, the biggest modding part is done outside CK/GECK, why they don't release a modelling tool? Something that we can add mesh files, or geck/ck already do this and i just don't knew? Yeah, the nif's and bsa's always confused me. They make a big deal about providing modding support, but then come up with these proprietary formats and don't provide hard documentation, so it's always a hack-job of thankless modders digging through the files until they figure it out. It would be so much easier if they just said "Here, this is how you can decompress a .ba2 file, these are all the nodes we added to the standard nifs" I haven't messed around with Nifscope or Blender too much so I probably jumbled up the jargon, but you get the idea. I fully agree. For each game it's been the same crap. Bethesda: "We support modding. Here, have the CK/GECK and now don't bother us again. What? You want to know how the files work? Figure it out yourself through hours weeks of testing and research and program your own tools." There's never been a documentation about file formats or anything other then the GECK what so ever.

Fallout 4 was really "big boom". It was like "hey guys, fallout 4 is out, bye bye". Some players would recommend to another players, something do not. And just imagine, after few mouths they released G.E.C.K., they would say about it on youtube or whatever and it will cause second "big boom". So players who playing pirate version (like me) would (maybe)buy the game to keep on final stable version. Some players which dislike fallout universe would buy it just for mods and etc. If you ask me, I wouldn't even be thinking of buying unfinished game. When geck will be out, I would be able to finish game by myself.

Personally, I only ever used vendors around level 20, when I was constantly running out of shotgun shells for my explosive combat shotgun and then some time later to get 12mm cartridges (because, holy shit they don't drop anywhere even at level 50). Not even once I bought anything else. They said in their twitter. About goddamn time, I'd say. Hardcore mode of Fallout New Vegas alone was a difference between day and night. I just hope they will cut chem drops in the same patch. Even when I'm not trying to pick up Stimpaks or Rad-Aways, I'm always at 50+.
Z0mBieP00Nani Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 Oh, Beth released an unfinished game again. Classic Beth. Oh, and it's even worse this time around..
poblivion Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 Write everyone in Bethesda, which will be released Creation Kit http://bethsoft.com/en-gb/contact
