bjornk Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 I'm thinking of doing something like that myself because I think RealBody is better than Better Males. We'll basically replace the body of SoS with the body of RealBody. A few mesh and texture adjustments may be needed. Interested in helping me or doing it yourself?
RitualClarity Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 I would if I only knew how.. (to use the programs and such ) even if it was just for the experience Never used this mod but hear good things about it and choices are always good.
Grande-farao Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 I do not understand anything in creation of mods, but if you are, I suggest that the player has the freedom to choose the body shape of male characters (thin, bodubuilder, normal and fat). In the original SOS not have this freedom and even more, the mod is not updated since centuries ago. Who uses mod BodyTypes knows very well.
Cema Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 1) Download photoshop, learn quickly how to create layers and how to use the select/feather tool. 2)Find the different texture file you like 3)Merge them with photoshop the way you like. 4)Save your new texture (8888 ARGb 32bits unsigned) and replace your original sos texture with it TADAM ! I didn't like the SoS texture myself so I merged them with www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/58443 until the guy decides to make it compatible with SoS. Trust me it's not that difficult. You can't even really call that modding =)

(for continued use that is).
bjornk Posted January 18, 2016 Author Posted January 18, 2016 The texture part involves creating a penis texture set that matches RealBody's. Modifying just the diffuse texture may be enough. The mesh part, however, i.e. replacing the Better Males body mesh with RealBody, needs a bit of work, as there are some gaps to be filled between the body and the penis part. I don't have any 3D tool other than BodySlide's Outfit Studio and I'm not sure if that would be enough.
Cema Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 I'm quite confident the diffuse map is not really different from the one from SoS, especially the body. So you don't really need any 3d tool except if you want to do something that look "absolutely perfect" You just have to put the new texture over the SoS texture and create a smooth transition around the genitals and pay attention to the saturation of the two images so that the transition is seamless.
bjornk Posted January 18, 2016 Author Posted January 18, 2016 I need the 3D tool to edit body meshes, not the textures, in case it wasn't clear. If you don't fix the mesh gap, no matter how you tweak the textures you'll still see it, the gap I mean.
Kendo 2 Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 You need someone versed in Blender or 3DMax. 3dMax being preferable because of the way Skyrim does morphs between two body meshes. It can be done in Blender but it's a pain in the ass. You might try talking to asenasen. He knows his shit and he's a lot nicer than I am.

PaulGreen Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Is it really very easy? I've frankly found the texturing jobs to be hard and the mesh work to be easy.. I have done work to get textures on the khajiit to match up with other models and it was a real pain in the ass. It is probably simply inexperience. How is it actually done? If I have two similar models with dissimilar UV mappings and their respective diffuse maps, how can one transfer the diffuse from one UV map set to the other without showing seams? Let me look at the mesh and see.
PaulGreen Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 I sort of have a poorman's version of an edit for the body. The _1 weight body especially is not very close to the SOS schlong shape, and attempting to edit without touching the SOS part means altering the bodyshape somewhat. The weighting also must be matched to the SOS part, which means changing the proportion in a few places around the pelvis, so there may be a few odd movements with animations and such.

I believe I have what you are looking for. SOS default body converted to RealBody. You should be able to use whatever textures your using for the SOS body. Send a PM if you want to try it out.

I want to use the original textures for RB, in other words, I want to use RB (with textures and everything) with SOS genitals instead of its own.
