Nice textures!  Seen some similar to those on Ning's twitch before.  Also is that Freckle mania for the redhead?

Thanks! I'm gonna take a guess and say yes! The redhead is not my own character so I wouldn't know exactly. She's a follower!

Am I doing a disservice to my character by using Project ENB [realistic]. Installed it when I first started modding, never looked back. My card can definitely handle something else. Any suggestions as far as ENB's for best looking character and screenshots?

Currently using Mature skin with SG speculars.

If you need an ENB to make your character look good, your character doesn't look good.

Depends on the skin texture. Quite a few skins look awful without ENB, like a lack of detail and that.

Hahhah, agreed 100%. But certainly some ENB's make characters look better for screenshots/videos than with other ENB's...

Thanks for the knowledge though  :)

Exactly... All good. Guess I'll have to tinker with things myself.

*slaps chromatic asseration to -1 and strengthens it 90000 samples per frame per source

*Uses three projected DOF's and blurred to fuck AO, purposefully picks a bloomed out area in direct fore and back lighting to blow highlights right out the fucking window

*three grain filters at -1 with Prod80s screen sampled grain on top of that at 100% gray blown to fuck "highlights"

*use the photoshop to Shermiecize the picture with 123094823094823094 dither/blur filters and a pornhub/tumblr screengrab vajayjay just for good measure and bonus just-like-skyrim authenticity

*uses K Mass Effect bloom code just in case an area of the screen isn't slathered in 5 pounds of KY jelly or completely enveloped in a noise filter

this skin needs some better detailing

sounds legit.

*removed pointless stuff because this crying about ENB stuff is silly.

No ENB

I should clarify that the emphasis in my original sentence is on "need".  ENB and Photoshop are perfectly fine tools and have beneficial effects when properly used.  What you want to avoid is these tools becoming a necessity - because if they do, it means the shots you're taking to start with aren't very good and you're just covering it up with flashy effects.

Skyrim without an ENB looks like an asshole. If you don't use you, then enjoy the shittyness.

Bethesda interpretation of coloring is worse than a kindergarten's crayola drawings. Fallout 3 and even New Vegas is a perfect example of that. Some sort of overlay is required to make the color tones far superior than what ever those devs do.

I agree and disagree in your case Jexsam. I don't overlays (even post process like ENB) can magically turn an ugly character into a hot babe. But I also disagree because of my first sentence. If BGS can actually bring life to their world with much better colors and not some dead awful desaturated world, it would make their games look better.

@Antrox:  Defensive much?  Did I strike a nerve?

@endgameaddiction:  Color and saturation is more a matter of opinion, I think.  Some prefer the vibrant look of Oblivion, others enjoy the bleak look of Fallout 3.  Neither is wrong.  ENBs can be used to brighten or deaden the world, from what I've seen, so it really doesn't have anything to do with an objective improvement and has more to do with making the world look more like you want it to.

The whole point in making the game look nice is to, well, make it look nice, not to hide anything. They're graphics enhancements.

For gameplay, I turn ENB off as I enjoy the game with a nice and stable framerate. I use ENB for shots because I like to look at them, I like to share them and I like to get creative with effects, but I never photoshop. I use whatever the ENB GUI allows and nothing more. I enjoy screenarchery more than playing the game itself as I have already put thousands of hours into playing it back during my Xbox days. I've done all there is to be done and I'm not a big fan of changing the gameplay too much as  it wouldn't feel the same.

So yeah, point is it's not to hide the "ugly" textures. I dont mind the vanilla look, I dont find it ugly. I just like to enhance the look for nicer shots. :P

Nah, just ignorance is what gets me off...

This honestly does seem like backpedaling

Sorta? Not really? I don't use an ENB or Photoshop, so it's not like I'm trying to save face on pain of hypocrisy. More like I realized my initial statement was unnecessarily blunt. I'm trying to be less of a dick in general, to... inconsistent results.

I need an enb to make my crappy Characters look half decent..i really would like to just take vanilla shots that look great.

Please Jexsam..could you type out a guide how to make ace characters and how to screenshot them...i've been doing it all wrong.

LESS TEXTS, MORE PIX :[

Sorry, my characters don't look good without ENB, and I'm too ashamed to glamour them with all the flashy effects of ENB.

1.7k posts later and you still can't differ between being honest and being an ass, then I think it's time you should take a little break from this thread.

Exactly.

I'm sorry Jex but i'd rather have a game that doesnt have fucking graphics that are comparable to fucking minecraft lighting...

And do you know what people do without ENBs? Oh thats right! Fucking photoshop.....
