Feddo Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 This school looks great but it glitches out when I make it a lot, there is a pile of stuff floating in the corner. It's chairs toys books and stuff all clipping through each other in a column. Â Edit: Also if I install it through the launcher it crashes when I go to the installed objects tab and when I extracted the sim3pack I found out that there is apparently a conflict between the corner sink and the corner dining table.

If you are using the career module of story progression, try removing it, and empty cashes before trying again. School feature or kinkyworld is incompatible with the career module of NRaas StoryProgression. Hope this helps Â

landess Posted December 3, 2019 Posted December 3, 2019 Decided awhile back to try the KW teacher route and had this school in my download folder. After some cleaning up and a few modifications ( mostly for style and pathing ) I had it working just fine. Proms, Nurse exams, etc. Here's a few screens showing the layout. I found it interesting not all chairs in the proper 'bin' worked for prom thrones.  Spoiler  2
koudos87 Posted January 19, 2020 Posted January 19, 2020 i cant find the school in edit town. Its not in my library.
landess Posted January 19, 2020 Posted January 19, 2020 Confirm: >The correct file was downloaded. -School and Uniforms zip-                 >The downloaded files were placed in the proper mods folder. -Documents/electronic arts/sims 3/downloads- (sims3packs) | -Documents/electronic arts/sims 3/mods/packages - (package files)   Sims3packs need the launcher to install!                 >Clear the caches from the documents folder.  -Documents/electronic arts/sims 3- Kill all files that end with 'cache'. There should be 4: CASPartCache, compositorCache, simCompositorCache,  scriptCache. (socialcache is for online stuff - simport/etc.)                 >In game, in edit town, the community lots tab will hold Lungpauls school.  If you use this, you'll have to edit the lot once placed. Not sure why things are scattered all over the lot. But I used it as a fast template. Rearranged things, added some, and deleted others. Finally had a working school and decided to share images here.  I easily could've made my own school, but this download includes a lot of CC that is themed properly with a few other mods to help the concept. These items will also be available for you if you choose to make your own building  Â
PRSTUV Posted July 10, 2020 Posted July 10, 2020 I have downloaded the mod but I can't find the school building. I put all unpacked folders and files to the mod folder.

I have packages folder and I have all mods there. Sims 4 has the folder that is called Tray, I wondered if it was something similar. But I don't see any school among the buildings when I edit the town. Or probably there are so many buildings that I don't notice it. Does it have any specific name? I see the uniforms although they disappear when the sims have them on (the top dissappear). Does this mode require any other mods? I have kinky world and many animations. Although I am more familiar with Sims 4. Skyrim required much learning (spent a month) but it looks easier now than Sims 3.
landess Posted July 11, 2020 Posted July 11, 2020 3 hours ago, PRSTUV said: looks easier now than Sims 3 Sims 3 is technically easier as the game reads mods and adds them as it builds the world from the save file. No mod manager needed to return most things to normal as replacements aren't needed - just more options. The Sims 3 has 2 locations to put 2 types of mods - Sims3packs and .packages. As long as the Mods folder is set up correctly (w/working resource.cfg) then ease of placing mods is simple. The game does the rest. Problems ALWAYS stem from the same things. Wrong patch levels (most patches accept older mods-mods won't work with older patches). Wrong folder/file location/address. Mods not made for Sims 3. Broken mods (Includes resource.cfg) <---- This file has been known to work fine and then for 'reasons' stops/is corrupted. My guess? Online Origin/Steam stuff. I use all disks and don't get some problems others experience which aren't unique.  Most all CC will have a different icon in the bottom corner of the thumbnails. Scan looking for the 2 types of these - ignoring those with nothing (default) or an EP icon. If nothing is 'found', try focusing on just default/no icon as this is sometimes the way CC can look, but extremely rare.  I'll load up my game, and find the school, and snap the location in a pic. BRB  Okay - back - They are 'both' listed under the community tab. The default has the asterisk icon, while the one I modified and saved (KW compatible rules) uses the folder icon.  Spoiler   I'm pretty sure I didn't use the uniform, but it sounds like you did and the issue could be related to 'teen morphing nipple tops'. Remember many mods were released before KW was created and/or matured to where it is now. There's a ton of CC useful for making your own uniforms for KW. I don't like the KW uniform feature myself - they create a file within KW which if you decide to change something like hair of makeup later, they aren't recognized by KW and remain as they were originally created. There may be ways to alter/delete it and start over, but I decided not to pursue this witch hunt.

I use Swedish translation and I guess the building is called something like "Community school". There is another type of school that is called "Community school for gifted kids". I will try the game later (somehow Sims 3 takes longer time to start on my computer than Sims 4 or other games).  I must ask another question. When I place your school to the city, what should I do next? Could you please add some step for step manual? I have noticed just few days ago it was possible to change marks of the lot (like private residence or common place) although I have played Sims many years. It happens that I took care only about the families I played for but not the rest of the city) and didn't know about other possibilities.

Patriguz Posted July 11, 2020 Posted July 11, 2020  For the Sims3pack there are two options: 1 - more easy, double click on the file, in theory the launcher will open and the file will install itself , it doesn't always work ? (a message will appear saying "Done"). 2 - more recommended, copy the file in the Downloads folder then open the launcher, and in the side tab "downloads" find the file in question select it and click "Install", another window will open with a status bar during the installation and at the finish you will get the same message : "Done!"

After you understand the different types of Sims 3 mods and how to install them properly, then most of this will become clear.  https://www.wikihow.com/Add-Mods-to-The-Sims-3 Be sure to read to the bottom - including the questions.   It's hard to learn to drive a car if one skips past the part on how to start the car. Don't feel I'm being condescending as not knowing the difference between a sims3pack and a .package file is some of the most basic information necessary to properly use mods in the Sims 3. I've been using the Sims 3 since 2009 and it's easy for me to forget just how much I've absorbed in this time. There is really no need for me to type several pages of information when so many others have already done so including pictures and examples of just about every question one could conceive.  Most 'real' problems occur with individual installations as no 2 players have the same computers, game versions and expansion packs, mods used, etc. This is why people trying to help need to know the person asking has a good handle on the game/mod use and specifics on mod combinations (core mods) which might have a negative effect.  The Sims 4 is more like a console, while the Sims 3 is more like a PC. This is why the Sims 4 went back to game play basics and ease of use. Â
Clydie Posted July 12, 2020 Posted July 12, 2020 As a beginner I would go for this school :  The school is a light weight, small and worked out of the box for me. Just one download in addition as per description on the download page. 2

Every feature works just great. Btw, love the job you did with the anims. My simfolk are thankful. 1

When I start to explain some myth and people don't know any basics about symbolic meaning or the theory of archetypes by C G Jung. As I wrote before, all my other mods were packages, so it was kinda natural that I haven't noticed the difference. I moved Sims3 mods into download folder and added through the start program for Sims3 (I don't know how it is called correctly but it starts when you start the Sims 3). I added the school to the city but I don't know what to do now.

Actually it works now. Placed already in the city. Just had to use the marker "High school" through the kinky so the teachers were added automatically (this what I was wondering about - how to make it work but not just being a building). I guess, everything is possible to make work after Skyrim mods. The problem is that I forget often how I did something if I didn't use it for a long time. And it was quite a long time since I was playing Sims 3. I use a free version that I downloaded from internet so some things are a little different. The easiest is Sims 4 because it doesn't use Origin. 2
