Face-surfing my presets, I think I spend more time in LM than playing the game. Found some good light. It's hard to make a face that looks good in all light.

I .. think I need some advice. I have been trying to get good female character, but something is off / something is not right or bothering me, can't really put a finger on it.

I'm going for the look of a middle-aged woman who has experienced a bit.

After a couple of hours, I'm close, but not there. But I have no ideas which sliders/values I should change. It might also be that she's ok and I'm just too caught up in it.

So would you please take a look and if there is anything that strikes you as not good would you please give me some advice on what to change (things like "eyes need to be lower in the face" ... or "distance between mouth and nose is too small").

 

Front is about 90% there I think.

Upper lip to "pouty"?

Since we all have different tastes, you may get wildly different opinions, but I suspect you expected that so.

 

Yes, it looks like overbite not upper lip pout.    Maybe don't make the cheek bones so pronounced.  I used to make that mistake all the time because everyone said "High cheek bones are beautiful!"

 

Also, I don't know if it is possible (I always make my avatar young-ish  like 20s), but add laugh lines around the corners of the mouth?

Middle aged typically refers to a woman in her 40s.  A few age lines here and there would probably help in adding the maturity to her face that you are looking for.  I will also second bringing the cheekbones in.  You really don't see cheekbones that pronounced on most anyone unless something has gone very wrong with plastic surgery.

 

I think the chin can be fine but could see wanting to extend it just a little bit.  UI personally would leave it if middle aged is what you are looking for.  I would actually move the entire mouth back a little bit with the upper lip coming back further to line it up better with the lower lip.  The upper section of the mouth gives the appearance of a moderately severe overbite and that exaggerates the appearance of the lip.

 

The big thing though is to remember that what looks good up close like your photos make look much better from a distance when in 3rd person.  Whatever alterations you make I'd suggest looking at them from a distance before settling.  I lost count of the number of times I swore the face was perfect and then kept on being bothered by something I couldn't put my finger on during conversations.

Custom implant mesh+a mashup of my own body mesh and various synth and fusion core parts molded together. I put a lot of work into it lol.

I posted on the "What mod is this? (Adult Edition)" thread not too long ago asking about one of your images (I just found out it was your work by randomly clicking on this thread). Why your image showed up below a 4 year-old Reddit-linked post of somebody's glitched-out Presto Gravy face on Imgur will probably forever elude me.

 

I can't imagine how much time and effort it took to get such a heavily-modified body mesh when I can barely learn how to run the Creation Kit on my not-made-for-gaming laptop - very impressive!

 

May I ask if you'll consider making (some of) your work available as a mod? If not, I understand. Why I'm interested is explained below.

Check my pixiv which I have linked in my signiture I havent released my damaged synth body mesh yet but I have the non damaged version upon my pixivfanbox. I will eventually release the damaged synth one there too.

Just looked into it; I'm really not into decay/destruction or parasitism, although I do recognize the work you put into it - I'm just interested in the fusion core ports and silicone breasts (least invasive and vaguely lore-friendly as described above). Thanks for your fast response.

Right I totally get that, like I said if you check my pixiv fanbox which there should be a link to on my pixiv page I posted a download of my non destroyed body mesh that has the fusion core ports.

I downloaded and tested it with different bodies & textures, and it works great (even AnimeRace Nanakochan is seamless). Well done! Now all I need to do is figure out how to get it to work with at least some clothes and armor (Curie may have replaced her synth body's mammary glands with miniature fusion generators, but she still has enough standards to not run & gun around the Commonwealth not only barefoot but completely nude except for a hat and some joint pads that will chafe with nothing underneath), especially when they have very different BodySlide dimensions (causing said joint pads to float).

Ill be putting out some outfits maybe even today depending on when I get home so keep an eye out

I look forward to it (and the possible future option of silicone & fusion core breasts like in your "Degloved Synth Breasts" post). On the technical side, is it possible to make equipment that only affects specific body parts? It seems like that would be better for compatibility than making an entire body like what you did, but then again, I'm not the one with deep knowledge of the Creation Kit and modeling tools. If it is possible, I might seek out a mod author who can do things like make the left/Pip-Boy hand always carry a bucket or replace it outright with things like a hammer.

Yes its possible, also I dont use the creation kit at all if you want to learn to do what ive done look into outfit studio and another 3d editor I use 3ds max but you can use stuff like blender etc

Ah, I see; unfortunately, my skills lie in other disciplines - I'm just starting to learn how to use GIMP to make simple image edits, let alone actually create stuff (much less in 3D). And now that I think about it, direct financial gain for Creation Kit usage may only be legal through the Creation Club, I suppose. Will your outfits include modified base game outfits and armor or just custom pieces? Those breasts would be funny on Minutemen (advanced nuclear plastic surgery at a settlement near you!) or Brotherhood personnel (either even fanatical hatred of synth technology isn't enough to overcome body image issues, or they store fusion cores in their breasts while their power armor is being fixed).

I actually dislike modifying vanilla outfits for the most part so expect a lot of stuff like f76 imports and other random things, maybe some random armor sets too im not sure yet.
