Thank you Ashal

I will certainly agree that the new site layout is pretty. As a minimalist however, function always trumps form with me as an individual so I will gladly take the old forum over the new if it means faster loading // improved up-time. That being said, I'm not 100% certain the new forum design is the cause of the problem (I'm not certain it isn't either), as correlation does not necessarily equal causation. I am certainly on board with trying a roll back for a month to see if that fixes things, but as long as we all understand that those changes may be completely unrelated and simply happened at a poor timing. I'm with you Ashal, I come by and check on this site and it's community very regularly and as long as I am aware of any migrations, I will migrate right along with you.

This tends to be a free and open community that is very relaxed and laid back and that is something I can't begin to describe how much I appreciate.

Thank you to everyone, from the top of the managers to us lowly forum readers, we all contribute to this place being what it is.

So, um, what exactly was wrong with the new site? I mean, in more detail than general instability? It seemed to work fine. Is this reversion relatively permanent?

Also, I have to admit that while the new version was a little prettier, I kind of got used to this one, it's nice :)

I certainly appreciate being back here. Runs like a charm even on my toaster  :D

Thanks Ashal and Moderators

For my part I prefer it too, it is way faster for me to load pages.

Ashal made a tough decision and I really respect him for it. Hopefully the possibility he brought up of it affecting the longevity of the site won't come to pass.

I'm not the most tender hearted person and I can't say I didn't completely like the new layout. What can I say, I just like this one better. Personal taste, but putting aside all that and my frustration with the broken functions, you did what you felt was right to you. If change is what you wanted, you got it. Unfortunately it came with a burden that seemed to be unbearable.

Still, like others, I recogonize your efforts in what you were trying to do and I respect that. I can't imagine the frustration you ahve been going through and some of us have been pretty impatient when we should be the least one's to be. The weight was all on you brotha and even though I'm not a specialist in html or web designing, I am familiar with doing a task that seems to an endless nightmare. I commend you for your efforts and the patience you've had throughout this whole process.

it is your website and you are entitled to do with it as you wish and all we can do is like it or not, but deal with it one way or the other. So if we can share that sympathy and embrace you for those hard efforts to ease some of that pain with some positivity, gratitude, and compassion, than it's the least we can do.

I think in the end of the day, LL will always be LL. And even if people may have left from the troubles that have been going on, they'll be back. They'll be back because there's no place like Loverslab. And I don't need to say what a wonderful place LL is. We all know and have seen LL grow throughout the years so that speaks for itself.

Thanks for your day to day efforts maintaining and continuing to operate LL. Thanks to you and thanks to your moderators as well. Doc, Greg, Bruce, Grumpf.

I know some of you we may not see eye to eye, but you guys still do a fine job operating this place. Regardless if I may not agree with some things. That's the way it is. And has been.

Like many others above have said already, I didn't absolutely hate the new site design or anything... but this really does feel a lot like coming back home again. I feel like I've just sat down behind my old, battered oak desk and inhaled a deep dusty whiff of my childhood bedroom air a couple years after my folks kicked off and the house needs to be cleaned out and sold to cover their final expenses.

Only here, everything's a bit sticky and weird... doubly so for the people. And you know, I really wouldn't have it any other way.

What I'm saying is... I appreciate the effort you made, even if in the end all it accomplishes is instilling in me a certain nostalgia for something that otherwise probably never would have carried enough sentiment on it's own to warrant this post. That might sound like a bit of a dig or sarcastic smarmyness without vocal context, but I assure you it's absolutely a 100% genuine heartfelt sentiment of appreciation. I'm not really the type to yearn wistfully for defunct user-interfaces, you see. So making me actually feel wistful to see this old gray box inside a slightly darker gray box with pale blue buttons layout is quite the feat in and of itself.

Just would like to add my thanks to the many others, thanks for giving us misfits a place to go :), I too like this one better though it's probably because I'm just more used to it.

Home sweet home  :shy:

Although it was a great pain for you Ashal the whole operation I would like to thank you for all your efforts and I admit that this feels more as the title says "home sweet home"

Hope you are also happy and not feeling disappointed.
