blueballbob Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 So just updated to Windows 10 Preview build 10130. Had to update my drivers with Nvidia, but other than that was able to play Skyrim modded just fine. Actually seemed to run a bit smoother without as many hitches. In case anyone was wondering, yes it works just fine. (At least for me so far)
manserpent Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Good to know since the 8.1 Update made me switch it to compatibility mode. I hope that will be fixed.
Afro68 Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Thanks for the head up as Windows 10 is less than a month away. I've heard from a few people that they like it better. There will be bugs for sure but nice to know Skyrim runs fine.
gvman3670 Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 I updated a friend's machine from 8.1 to 10 and his modded Skyrim works perfectly. Not a hitch. I was shocked with how well it went to be honest.
Shadowscale Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Was wondering about that. Guess when it launches I'll download it.
gvman3670 Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 On a side note, switching from 7 to 10 (build 10130) did NOT work well on my computer. It gave me critical error messages and I couldn't do anything at besides reinstall Win7. I am hoping the final product won't have those issues.
ousnius Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Good to know since the 8.1 Update made me switch it to compatibility mode. I hope that will be fixed. I use 8.1 and don't have to do this. Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date and you installed DirectX with the web installer.

Shadowhawk827 Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Good to hear from everyone (minus the failed install). I'm curious if that was a freak event or if other people with 7 are having similar problems, Anybody who posts their progress / experience, please let us all know what version of Windows you upgraded from.

Win 10 is DX12 but Skyrim is still is DX9 game, that being said I've seen lots of people report minor gains in various titles when running on Win 10, probably a more efficient rendering system.
