Floors are missing

Basically some of the floors in Breezehome, The Pawned Prawn, and Honeyside are gone. Its not that the textures are missing, its that the floor itself has simply disappeared. Ive tried checking with new characters, different saves, turning off all mods (except Alternate Start so I could double check) and I get the same thing. One website said it was Hearthfire DLC that did it, I turned it off and had the same problem, so does anybody know what the cause is and how/if I can fix it?

I had something similar happen in Riften where an entire bridge disappeared.

BUT!!!  I had been playing with creation kit earlier in the week, so I am pretty sure It was my fault.

I replaced the bridge using creation kit and all seems to be well.

Hmmm, I had just done a smidge with creation kit myself actually, but I almost never use it, all my mod was, was to lower the health of Falmer just a smidge.

Gonna try the verify cache idea now

All the Meshes and such are in the BSA's, I doubt that it would lose specific things like that and still work. It may be that another mod accidentally changed that floor piece or deleted it.

As it stands you are using a mod for Breezehome. I suspect that this mod is causing the error.

I had a similar problem, I used a mod that improves the meshes and textures and see there, in a dungeon was missing the ground.
the modder has this special Dungeon forgotten.

Yeah I had the same thing happen before myself in Riften.

You can try using TES5edit to repair Breezehome.  Just go through the usual cleaning routine and let it find whatever may be overwriting the the vanilla file.

NOW< if whatever happened modified the vanilla files (as opposed to the error being in a mod but not going away when shutting off mods), this prolly won't work, but it's worth a shot.

You done runna outta memory but without the crash.

Chances are you could clear your memory, restart computer, what have you and it will be there.

Did you run your texture pack replacer through Optimizer Textures at least once?

Thanks for all the replys, been playing Arkham Knight so I haven't looked here in a couple days. I still had the issue with the floors when I turned off everything but Alternative Start (chose it so I could instantly go to breezehome), Ive already used TESVEdit before to clean up the DLC and a couple mods that Mod Organizers LOOT said needed cleaning. Dawnguard didnt clean terribly well (still shows a few errors) and Enhanced Lights and FX never saved the cleaning. Suppose I should re download the DLC and see if stuff comes back?

Yeah Ive used Optimizer Textures. Basically what I did was install the texture mods I wanted, placed them one by one in the same folder overwriting with the files I wanted (a mixture of Skyrim HD Lite and Vivid Textures), then ran OT on the folder.

I don't know about the memory, I'll look into it.

My specs:

Intel i5 3.4 ghtz (I think its a 4670 cpu)

GeForce 770 2gb GDDR5

16gb DDR3 ram

MSI motherboard (GD 40 or something, dont remember off the top of my head)

OK, I've managed to whittle the problem down to one of two dll files in my SKSE/Plugins folder

Dinput8.dll or StorageUtil.dll

Without those my floors are back. I dont remember what those two dll files do, so I'm just going to leave them on the desktop for the time being

@bigglebojiggle

StorageUtil.dll is part of SKSE plugins it comes with sexlab and SOS not sure on any other sexlab mods.

Dinput8.dll belongs to the Microsoft DirectInput library and it is located in the following folder: C:\Windows\System32. The file is part of Windows OS and to be more precise it is a component of Microsoft DirectX. Basically, DirectInput processes data which it receives from external devices (joystick as one example), it allows multimedia-rich applications such as PC games to be able to ‘understand’ commands coming from devices such as mouse, keyboard, and other external controllers.

Common problems Since this file becomes ‘active’ while using multimedia-rich applications such as PC games, no wonder why most complaints of errors related to this file are coming from gamers. The most common complaint is that games won’t open up, or they may open but crash after a while, together with an error messages such as: A required .dll file, Dinput8.dll was not found or C:\Windows\system32\ Dinput8.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Some other complaints relate to display problems. The causes to this error There are two main common causes: (1) An incompatible (missing or obsolete) display related driver (2) Invalid dll – the file itself is incompatible, corrupt, or missing…
