Hi!

I would like to share my first set of rabbit hole careers. No expansion packs are required, just the base game.

This pack requires NRaas_Career.package, available here. After installing, extract my mod anywhere in your Mods folder.
I also highly recommend using NRaas Overwatch and Relativity for a better game experience in general.

The mod currently contains two full-time careers:

Porn Industry - Join Porn Industry at the Hideout
-Porn Star branch;
-Porn Tycoon branch

Prostitution - Become a Prostitute at the Hideout

In addition, teens (18+) can try their luck with two part-time careers:

Amateur Porn - Sign up for SimsTube.com at the Hideout

School Bike - Apply at any school

The careers contain gender-specific job titles and descriptions where appropriate. The mod currently
includes 9 chance cards. Advanced Sims in many career branches can hold autograph sessions.

Currently, all forms of the prostitution career are meant for female characters, and gay male ones.
I am not able to account for pimps and straight gigolos in the same career, due to restrictions on
custom tones. They simply wouldn't make sense in those situations. Let me know if you would really
like me to make those careers, I'd be down.

This mod is in an early stage of development, so bugs, typos, and whatnot are to be expected. Please
contact me with any bug reports, feedback or suggestions, and I'll get back to work.

Known Issues
-I am not able to rename boss titles, nor control the genders of either bosses or co-workers.
Female 'pimps' don't quite make sense with the current tones and storyline. May I suggest killing off
bosses until you roll an appropriate one? :)
-Likewise, teens in the School Bike career can get a female boss assigned. Raze and replace!
-There's a text error in one of the chance cards, fixed in next update.

This mod can be translated! Please send me a PM if you're willing to translate (part of) the text.

Patch Notes

 

 

 

1.3

-Four part-time careers added for adults:
  -Sperm Donor, male only
  -Hobby Ho
  -Phone Sex Operator
  -SimsTube Amateur
-Porn is now available in a gay version for males.
-New Stripper part-time career for teens.
-Prostitution now includes several non-rabbit hole assassination opportunities. Get a gun or take a more supernatural approach, and eliminate the competition!
-72 new chance cards across all careers.
-Porn Actors in levels 6-10 may now be invited for the SimVN awards. Charisma, Athletic and mood determine your chances of winning a cash price.
-Skills now alter the outcome of a few chance cards, very early test.
-Females in the porn industry now have a separate career, to allow for more gender-specific text. This unfortunately means existing progress in porn will be lost for females, this time only. 
-Prostitution has relocated to the Day Spa.
-SimsTube has relocated to the Office Building.
-Prostitution has yet another icon. Unisex be damned!
-Amateur Porn’s icon now matches the adult equivalent. 
-Fixed a text error in one of the Prostitution chance cards.
-All career data is now properly stored in a single package.
 
 

1.2 May 12th 2015
-Adult Prostitution career now has 9 chance cards. Feedback and suggestions are much appreciated!
-Prostitutes in certain levels can now get arrested and sent to jail for the night.
-Dieser Mod ist dank ShakzyO nun auf Deutsch verfügbar.
-The work tones should now function as intended.
-Career rewards are expanded, and hopefully more balanced. No more §100,000 cars for teens.
-Slightly rebalanced wages.
-Co-worker titles now display correctly for prostitutes.
-Fixed typos.

1.1.2 May 8th 2015
-Russian and Dutch translations added for Porn and Prostitution.
-All careers now grant various (expensive) rewards for reaching certain levels.
-Sims in level 2 and 3 amateur porn, and level 10 prostitution, can now hold autograph sessions.
-Adjusted working hours for school bike, teens in this career will now autonomously go to work.
-Your sim's name now correctly shows up in the porn branch split.
-Level 3 school bike job title now displays correctly.
-No more .DS_Store files in the .zip
-Prostitution has a new icon.

1.1.1 April 29th 2015
-The in-game text now displays properly in non-english games.
-Adjusted entry-level prostitution working hours, no longer conflicts with new save games.
-Porn careers now have a more appropriate icon.
-Minor flavor text adjustments.

The third full-time career is coming soon.

For now, there are no custom opportunities or events, but I plan on adding those.

Advanced Sims in both branches of porn can sign autographs, however. This requires Late Night iirc. 

 

Currently, the prostitution career is meant for female hooker characters, and gay male escorts.

I am not able to account for pimps and straight gigolos in the same career, due to restrictions on custom tones. They simply wouldn't make sense in those situations. Let me know if you would really like me to make those careers, I'd be down.

Known Issues

-The icons are terrible, I could use some help there. 

-Prostitutes can get female bosses, who are not renamed "pimp", and do not actually die when they should in the storyline. This is unfortunately due to game restrictions I currently cannot get around. May I suggest killing off bosses until you roll an appropriate one?   :)

Really nice to see someone carry this project forward. I never really looked at mod the sims to see how it was done.

Nothing by NRaas should interfere with my mod, but these are Rabbit Hole careers.

i haven't tried it yet...but i have that Nraas career MOD so will try this soon. ;)

 

and i am sure if you have a polite chat with other like Lady and Oni and Amra, they i am sure give advise and maybe even help you with any thing your stuck on.  :D

 

and for my part i will try it out and report back any issues as i am sure many users will x x  :shy:

 

Will my female be able to actual have an active hooker job where people stop in cars and pay for sex with her or walk up to her etc? the old porn industry career only had her go to an old ruined building and the people inside made sounds like they was playing a game of cards!! 

 

Be great if the jobs actually has active sex and scenarios  :blush:  :heart:

I'm sorry, but these are also Rabbit Hole careers. Modifying the game to an extent of actually having your sims utilizing animated woohoo on the streets for money does sound awesome, but is way beyond my current level of skill.

 

Basically, what I'm trying to do here is create a wide variety of alternatives to the EA careers, with sexually explicit job descriptions and tones. At least until someone awesome strolls along and figures out how to do profession-style careers.

I just posted the first update. From what I've seen, upgrading shouldn't affect save games using my custom careers. Make sure the Career Data folder from 1.0 is deleted from your Mods folder.

Yes that should be fine. We're both essentially plug-ins for NRaas career mod, with uniquely numbered DLLs.

 

The only issue I can think of is the rather similar text when applying at the hideout. "Join Porn Industry" vs "Join the porn industry".

How does rabbit hole work? I'm sorry but i'm confused

Pretty much the same way careers have functioned since 2000. Once you've selected a career track for your Sim, the carpool will regularly pick them up for work. In order to earn promotions, you'll need to build a certain level of skill (like charisma), and often let them suck up to their boss. When at work, your Sim is invisible, but you're able to choose things like the amount of effort they put in, and what skills they hone while there.

 

It's more or less how to play the game without cheating.

I'm sorry I meant inside rabbit hole. The folder where you added those iamges or is it nothing?

Oh right, sorry. Those are just some screenshots I made to visualize certain career levels. They're impressions of what happens in the rabbit holes. Anyone else found this to be misleading? I can remove them from the file if it bugs people.

I haven't made any effort to make this mod compatible with ultimate careers mod yet. My careers should behave as ones by EA as much as possible, so if you can get it to work with those, mine should theoretically be no different. 

 

Edit: According to this page, custom careers are supported by their mod.

strange all the careers by this mod has no texts in-game. Also the dialogue option pops up as joincareer(long number here).

Are you running the latest version of NRaas career base mod? I just reinstalled it, and the 1.1 mod, and the strings show up for me.

first it was outdated and then i upgraded it.

 

 

And you completely removed the older version? Perhaps there are still some outdated optional modules, like School and Part-Time, for Career Mod running. Maybe there's an unexpected incompatibility with another mod, have you tried scanning your mods folder with Sims 3 Dashboard to check for any problems?
