Sexlab Aroused Redux December 05 2016

Hey everyone, so forgive me if this has been addressed already, but I wasn't able to find an answer during my search.  I'm having an issue where the mod is installed and seems to be working, but every 3 seconds I get a message in the top left corner of my screen that says "SexLab Aroused upgraded to version 12".  I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, I made sure to do it on a clean slave, but the message persists.  Does anyone have any theories?

Question do npc's only get aroused when the character is naked or do other npc influence the arousal level? Because I tried getting the arousal to level to go up by making everyone naked, but nothing happened.

 

Everyone, NPCs and the player get aroused by any other naked NPC (and themselves if they are exhibitionists)

You have something screwed up.  Try uninstalling, and then check your data\scripts directory and delete any sla*.pex and sla*.psc in the scripts/source directory.  Then re-install.

 

Alternatively, install the loose version.

No good reason for this.  Lots of people have done exactly the same thing.  Maybe try disabling the cloak effect, go into an interior small cell (a player home) wait a couple of minutes and then save, then uninstall old and install the Redux loose version.

Well, yay for the new version.  I uninstalled the older version and cleaned the scripts folder and installed new version.  Everything is working wonderfully.  Thanks for the help.

I had just recently removed Lover's Comfort (an hour ago then used save tool to clean out it's scripts), as I never felt it worked correctly or as intended. as for the others on the list, I have never used. But I appreciate the info, and will be looking into the other 2 links you posted very soon, and thank you for the reply, as I have no idea where to post at this time for the issue I am encountering.

These are always hard.  Sometimes, it is not possible to save a save.  I know that is not what you want to hear.

These are always hard.  Sometimes, it is not possible to save a save.  I know that is not what you want to hear.

 

 

Started using MO, managed to save the save! WOOT! something to be excited about for a change. And was finally able to remove the scripts from Lover's Comfort with Save Tool. Now it's stable again. As a test, used one of my own stress test mods, that repeats an action while I slept, usually an unstable game will crash doing such for an hour or 2, woke up still chopping wood and collecting 2 firewood per swing.

These are always hard.  Sometimes, it is not possible to save a save.  I know that is not what you want to hear.

Absolutely fabulous.  I am so thrilled that you got it working.  One of these days, I am going to get after Lover's Comfort so it is not such a strain on the syatem.

What really would be wonderful, is if Lover's Comfort actually used arousal checks and relationship checks before they actually started going after it... It's been annoying to walk in, walk up to the Jarl, who was sleeping, then they vanish, and I find them in bed with one of their subordinates... They don't sleep together, so it shouldn't kick in, in my opinion.

 

And a mod I would love to see that kind of mimics a Random Sex version, that includes an arousal check, relationship check, then if arousal is high enough for both, they actually approach each other and sort of talk each other into bed, or NPC rape scene possible if relationship rank is not lovers, or one already has a lover, configerable, then the guards toat the NPC rapist off to jail for a few configurable days... Now I wish I could write my own mod/scripts for something like this.

As a test, used one of my own stress test mods, that repeats an action while I slept, usually an unstable game will crash doing such for an hour or 2, woke up still chopping wood and collecting 2 firewood per swing.

 

 

Absolutely fabulous.  I am so thrilled that you got it working.  One of these days, I am going to get after Lover's Comfort so it is not such a strain on the syatem.

 

 

What really would be wonderful, is if Lover's Comfort actually used arousal checks and relationship checks before they actually started going after it... It's been annoying to walk in, walk up to the Jarl, who was sleeping, then they vanish, and I find them in bed with one of their subordinates... They don't sleep together, so it shouldn't kick in, in my opinion.

 

And a mod I would love to see that kind of mimics a Random Sex version, that includes an arousal check, relationship check, then if arousal is high enough for both, they actually approach each other and sort of talk each other into bed, or NPC rape scene possible if relationship rank is not lovers, or one already has a lover, configerable, then the guards toat the NPC rapist off to jail for a few configurable days... Now I wish I could write my own mod/scripts for something like this.

 

 

I personally hate Lovers Comfort, but lots of the girls seem to like it.  It pisses me off when I need to get some business done with the Jarl and they are  stuck in the middle of the bed.  I am pretty sure I could do a better job with that.  But, I currently have my hands full with Sex Slaves.  But, some RL type interactions would be a nice thing.

Yeah, that would be better than the Jarl suddenly disappearing, or their subordinate suddenly shows up when you are about to talk to them, and the Jarl gets raped in front of you... Where are the guards when this happens? sheesh.... right there watching... perverts.

I posted a version in the lover's comfort thread that let you set the arousal thresholds and fixed the bed usage. I also have an unreleased version that adds a scene where one participant walks to the other bed (unless they get stuck and teleport anyway) if anyone wants that.

You could make everyone really happy and fix the scanning logic.  If you download Redux and look at OnUpdate() in slamain.scr you will see a way of making the scans like 100 times faster and reduce the papyrus load even more.

 

Also, Lovers Comfort needs to be upgraded to get rid the the find center code and let SexLab do it.  That will fix all the times you find folks screwing in the middle of the bed.

For my mod i used custom event slaUpdateExposure. But having trouble with values less than 1. Increasing value is send as Float, but internally in Aroused's handler it casted to Int (transfered to UpdateActorExposure where again casted to Float) so in fact used only discret values. Is there a chance 'officially' implement something like (for my own needs i did that):

float Function SetActorExposureF(Actor akRef, float val);
float Function GetActorExposureF(Actor akRef);
float Function UpdateActorExposureF(Actor akRef, float val, String debugMsg = "")

And internally use this functions without casting to Int.

I understand that old functions defs must stay because too many mods use Aroused. And Papyrus doesn't has templates or function override abilities.

If you dig through the code, you will see that it uses StorageUtil to set these values as floats.  You can do it yourself that way and bypass the sla entirely and still have it work for other mods.  The code in question is in slaFrameworkScr and is pretty easy to understand.

For myself I did it, but maybe i'm not only one. For example. Suggest that any mod uses tribals (like forsworns). Nudity itself is not increase arousal too much, but sex act or something else...

Commonly it's bad idea to "hook into" any mod, because "Skyrim workaround" is multythreaded and do not knowing everything about other mod "hook into" may lead to deadlock or data mess. :dodgy:

Added: In my mod i use cloak spell on my PC that akts in combat every second increasing arousal with a little from every enemy in melee range. If i using standard methods pass 0.4 (as example) i receive 0 increasing. If i pass even 1 then if battle is long with many enemies, my PC will be tooooooo aroused :D

If you are using a cloaking spell, I will add you to my banned list.  The cloaking spell in the original aroused was what killed lots of players games and forced many of them to abandon aroused.  Better to check out the code in Redux and see if you can't do something like that for less of an impact on the players machine.

 

Also, there should be no deadlock issues with StorageUtil.  Ashal is a great programmer and I am sure he knows about that stuff.

If you want to ban every that uses a cloak spell then need to ban Skyrim itself. ;)  How about astronach with flame/frost ability?

My ability is the same type. It presents ONLY on player char and act similar. Activating only in combat and in melee area only. Compensate to my nude girl defence by absorb some health and increase ONLY her arousal in a battle because she is succubus.

About deadlocks/data mess. Lets suggest that during battle SexLab Aroused internally interacts with arousal of my PC in common way:

    Int newRank = GetActorExposure(akRef) + valFix

It got explosre and starts to output debug. At the same time MY MOD (or any other) via StorageUtil changes SLAroused.ActorExposure. What we will get afterwards? All my input will be COMPLETELY ignored.

That's why I ask you to create a 'gates' to awoid issues similar this one. Because if my mod enters via UpdateActorExplosure() or UpdateActorExplosureF() as intended everything will be OK.
