Kendo 2 Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 'Do it Dirty' says it all. This is the fastest way to get an armor into the GECK and ready to add to the game world. Next I'll cover adding the armor to an NPC. You can download the images for easy viewing below. K2 GECK_Do it Dirty_Add an Armor.rar
Kendo 2 Posted August 17, 2014 Author Posted August 17, 2014 Instead of adding the armor to an NPC, we're going to add it to an existing vendor; in this case Chet in Goodsprings. And that's all there is to it. Easy, huh? You can download the images for easy viewing below. K2 GECK_Do it Dirty_Add an Armor_2.rar
jb135691 Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Thanks for the tutorial. Easy and very straight forward.
DarkLeon54 Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 when i do this step the GECK crash (stop working)
Kendo 2 Posted November 16, 2014 Author Posted November 16, 2014 That means there is something with the mesh. Try a different one and see if it works.
Guest carywinton Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Nice tutorial, I will be giving this a try. Now I need to learn how to resize clothes and armor to different bodies. It's pretty much the same method I was using to "re-skin" an existing armor or clothes, works good.Thanks.
jerry05 Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 i followed your steps to where i edit female bipod ,when i try to open jacksoutfit i get a invalid directory message, i don't get it my jack folder is on my desk top in 7zip file do i need to leave it in rar , do i need to install it in my data folder ? i have used the creation kit before but this is my first time playing with the geck .
Kendo 2 Posted January 24, 2015 Author Posted January 24, 2015 Yes, it goes in your New Vegas data folder. Copy the meshes and textures folders from the download and paste them into you data folder. When it asks overwrite/replace click yes to all. THEN do the tutorial.
techiespeek Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 Nice job here Kendo, now make a Dummies guide for unpacking and packing BSA files.
RitualClarity Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 If it is for Fallout either 3 or NV it is easy. So easy you don't even need a tutorial. If you are having some problems post a new thread in the tech support I and others can help. It isn't anywhere near as complex as many think it is. (kind of like this tutorial )
RitualClarity Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 Kendo, I have used your tutorial .. had the same glitch as others I forgot that it neededto be in the data folder. However it is in the game now and Chet is selling it. To prove I am not speaking out my green ass Yes. the body looks horrible. I was just testing with a completely clean FNV install so of course the nasty ugly default body. However the armor looks great.
akadaka Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 done everything to the T, how do I get this armor in the inventory now? thanks in advance
akadaka Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 terribly sorry for being a noob, done everything to the T, launched the game the leather armor is still the same how do I get this armor in the inventory now? thanks in advance nvm I replaced the leather armor altogether since I was unable to figure it out. it would have been nice to have it as a stand alone item though.
sen4mi Posted August 17, 2018 Posted August 17, 2018 Shouldn't you go back and update the biped model to let it know which parts of the body your armor covers? I mean, I can imagine cases where it would work to not do that, but ... it depends?
