finalx31 Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Leave it to the chinese to steal everyone's stuff and resell it as their own. Their entire culture has been doing it for years. haha i'm chinese and that's so true. you should hear the stories of the fake soy sauce and eggs we hear about. hair being chopped up to make soy sauce and it was on the market forever. or fake baby powder...that case was borderline genocide imo
snsd4203 Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 If you happen to get a lawyer in China. You can sue the uploaders for the violation of copyright. But that takes too much works and money :/
xiaomiza Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Dear authors in Loverslab: I’m a huge fan of your mods and I’m very grateful to every mods crated by you. However, I have to apologize for my negligence and some misunderstand caused by it,hoping that we can resolve all the problems between us. Living in countryside, I always suffer from the bad condition of the Internet and it’s even harder to view the foreign website.I would like to see that your mods can be played by more and more Chinese players, but with the difficulties, I have to spread it without asking for permission. To get the latest version of your mods, I asked some of my friends to send them to me.Please don’t blame them as they are innocent anyway. I have to admit that I didn’t noted the original authors in my integrate package. This has been fixed in my latest version and you can see all the origin of the mods. If we can build up a connection, I would like to help you to spread your mods with my “柠珞LOVE实验室”. Talking about the problem of ‘Selling’,I must confirm that I didn’t use any mod to make money.Actually, we have a rechargeable service for green hands, helping then dealing with mods.I have completely redone my works ,hoping that this can mend fences and help Chinese players to know more about SEXLAB. I really appreciate your mods and hardwork. Please accept my sincere apology for failing to reply your interpellation in time. Cordially LemonJade Seems the guy made his apologies saying he didn't receive any money from it, which seems hard to believe after reading this thread even if I don't understand everything of what exactly happened and the green hand thing. At least he his now giving proper credit, that's better. Personally, he still does not have my permission, if he asked before for packing my mod with other I would have gladly given my permission if it can help non-English speaker to play with our mods and of course as long as it's not for money... the difficulties to ask for permissions excuse is not valid... and even less for credits... I would just have asked for at least credit and the translation files to include in the mod on LL directly... it's the same with the japanese community who translate our mods for themself, I don't care they can do whetever they want but they could at least send the files to be included. Let's work hand in hand (Just wash it before ) Your thoughts is too simple. AS it said that " we have a rechargeable service for green hands, helping then dealing with mods.I have completely redone my works". But if you don't pay the money, you cann't get the newset version of "柠珞LOVE实验室". The Download link only can get the SNL 04.5 for free. But the newest version of "柠珞LOVE实验室" is V05.0,and only who pay the money can priority get the download link and play the MODs. 9.8 RMB: only the package,No Service 28 RMB: offer the package and Service 88 RMB: offer remote installation services This is a disguised sale of sexlab's MODs. And relying on the sale of "柠珞LOVE实验室", he has earned tens of thousands RMB. Sorry for my poor English.
saviorwq Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 I am a Chinses , I know what happened ,"柠珞LOVE实验室" without the author's authorization, private sale SexLab's mod pack , and change the authorship Xiaomiza is right , I can prove it
Goubo Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 I see, thanks for the explanations, well that's just sad then. :/
lukefz Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 being a kinda(?) frequent 3DM user (I am chinese), to my best knowledge, I think he sells his service of modding (installing and so on) but he probably DIDNT get the authors' permission to reupload
elzee Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 I bet if on startup LL mentioned the Tiananmen square massacre they would drop the sales asap. Then this site would be banned forever in China. Some chinese do that bad thing. But not all. I'm a Chinese modder. I made many useful mods for Oblivion. http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/users/2284157/?tb=mods&pUp=1 Do you hope I'm banned?

So there is no "probably". The best way Chinese community can help is to pass the word in China to get authors to ditch 3DM but keep publishing, if no good outlet exists in China then this place is as global and as well run as one can find on the Internet. The only way to defeat opportunistic a-holes like NinGe and 3DM is to give people better access.

I think you got the wrong idea there. zyf2008 was saying that China might implement an IP ban on Lover's Lab if Ashal put a poster up front regarding Tian-an-men incident, thus forever stonewalling you people from getting a look over here. It's not the idea of banning you people from LL but rather your country banning LL from ever appearing when you access the web.

That whole idea is terrible anyway and I'm sure Ashal wouldn't even consider doing something like that. There's just a bunch of people in this thread throwing out random things without even thinking what they're typing (Or at least it seems that way to me)
ZXZXZX Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 It is normal to get angry and want to lash out. But most of the suggested methods would backfire on us. I am personally extremely happy to see what a level head rests on Ashal's shoulders. The last thing we want to do is make our own mod experience worse because of this, right?
FUTHARK Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 Ban all Chinese originating IP addresses from LL. Best possible solution IMHO.
finalx31 Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 Ban all Chinese originating IP addresses from LL. Best possible solution IMHO. this. please include england, brazil and canada. they're all stinky too.
RavenDier Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 Seriously, you dont even need to ban all Chinese IP, the GFW has already done the job. The Internet connect to LL from China is unbearable slow, get a VPN is the only solution. If you have a VPN, what good an IP blacklist will do? Guess what? The guy who steals your MODs surely knows how to get a VPN.
guyver Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 It's sad that we have to live in a world were things like this happen. The saddest part is that they will probably get away with it with little to no punishment. Ironically, this made me kind of depressed after I just got back from a family trip to Vegas like around midnight and I see this. Meh... * such a shame for the modding scene and the hard work of everyone involved in active modding. but of course, you can't judge everyone by the action of a single moron.
EE5 Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 humm.. A counterattack could be used, posting on the Chineses forums true links about loverslab with the flashy free-mods The Chinese would see that need not pay and the consequence would weaken the User who is selling this is just an simple idea Actually I think this is a great idea, especially since the buyers will soon find out that they have been scammed!
Merdred44 Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 Add propaganda bashing the Chinese government within the mods, then report it when the guy starts selling them. Maybe they'll throw the slimeball in/under a prison somewhere. *chuckle* Seriously, Its a shame people would steal others work for a profit, in a better world they'd be properly punished...but it's not going to happen.
icladel Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 If it is illegal in China to post 18X material online as mentioned above, couldn't you just report this to the Chinese authorities? I mean, NingNe is effectively "selling porn". Alternatively, I agree with providing LL Chinese translations and promoting them. Supply latest versions in the appropriate languages. Also, a warm welcome to the newest members. Tell your friends about LL
Andre94w Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 They've broken a sacred law and should be punished!
hafertaler Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 I think punishing users (banning ip's etc.) would be counterproductive. If LL is really not accessible enough to chinese people to be an adequate alternative and the connection is bad (in addition to the language barrier), it's only natural they use an alternative on their 3dm site in their language. So I guess the "providing an alternative" approach could only work if someone would do it on 3dm and (if 3dm doesn't provide it) a hosting service that is accessible and fast for chinese Users. And then there is the problem with the translations. Someone has to do it and with the sheer number of mods, that amounts to a lot of work. You could simply steal the translations from the stolen mods (the irony ; ) ) but that would mean sinking to his/her/their(?) level, which isn't the most ethical way. And the last thing would be getting permissions from all the creators to host their stuff on a different site... While I like the idea of it, I don't think it's really manageable. I think it's really a dick move to deliver a crappy free version of stolen mods and try to sell a better version, but if LL is really badly accessible for chinese people, the speed is bad and there are barely any chinese translations out there, I think it's just natural, that they try to solve the problem themselves... even without permissions. Let's face it, SL has some great mods, if you're into that sort of thing and from all I've seen, it's the best complete package by far. But selling those mods - and especially with the: creating an upper and lower class society because of greed thing going on - is inexcusable.
Yami X Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 Ban all Chinese originating IP addresses from LL. Best possible solution IMHO. Ban all Chinese originating IP addresses from LL. Best possible solution IMHO. this. please include england, brazil and canada. they're all stinky too. For everyone who keeps saying this. Talk about overacting......
saladboy21 Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 For whatever it's worth, I am glad Chinese users are coming here and using mods, and they are welcome as far as I am concerned. I'd really like to see the hateful comments about them stop. Let's work together here.
Askan Vulrel Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 This is fucking ridiculous. Just putting it plain and simple. Anyone who would pay money for mods that are completely free elsewhere deserve to lose their money. However, the people who don't even know about this site at all are getting completely ripped off, and I feel bad for them. I applaud those that were smart enough to come here and get them, though. Tell your friends, so they don't get another cent off of another modder's work. We need more people giving Chinese translations. Anyone here know both English and Chinese well? xD
Ashal Posted August 3, 2014 Author Posted August 3, 2014 This thread has more or less run it's course and is starting to run into the danger or turning into a witch hunt, so I am locking it now. To close out and sum up: Yes it sucks. China is not to blame, specific people are; so enough with the pitchfork mob mentality. Many Chinese users are as upset about it as anybody else, if not more so. Banning all Chinese IP's would be stupid, apart from punishing the many innocents it only gives them valid reasons to buy it from this person. Getting Bethesda involved is also stupid, I mean seriously, just take a look around the kinda mod it is - there is absolutely no way they'd want to involve themselves with this and it would not end well for us even if they did. Want to fight back and help? Beat them with kindness. Being helpful and providing for the users who might otherwise buy the mod from this person to lower his profits. Any users who speak fluent Chinese are encouraged to help fight this by providing translations of mods to the official authors and spreading word of where to get the translated mods from their free and official source. Mod creators are encouraged to include localization files and work with any Chinese users or, or any language user for that matter, to provide official translations to their work. Anybody unfamiliar with the mod localization process is more than welcome to private message me and seek help. LoversLab may be an English focused community, but any language community is more than welcome here to post in their native language as much as they want so long as it falls within the sites content rules. If demand and traffic of such foreign language threads is high enough, I'll happily create sub forums for them to better organize. Thread locked.
