Help with choosing the right combination of mods.

I have been playing modded Skyrim for some time. But as with most everyone, I have always had problems with my game. Lately, however, it has become horrible, and I had to uninstall my game. I haven't been able to get past level ten without something making my game unplayable.

So, I have decided to try and ask for help here. Below is a list of 'possible' mods that I wish to use in my game. I have read over the requirements for these mods and followed instructions everytime I installed them, but something always goes wrong somewhere. Not only am I looking for incompatabilities I might not be seeing or understanding, but I am also interested in weeding out mods I might not need because of redundencies. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I will be sure to install only the latest versions of ALL the mods I end up using.

I don't see any immediate conflicts. You should be using LOOT to sort out your initial load order and check them afterwards. It will show you a pretty detail list of errors and warnings that it came across.

Also, any major overhaul such as CIVIL UNREST might have high incompatibility issues so you have to check them with other similar overhaul mods. This goes with Frostfall as well.

I would also recommend using TES5 Edit to test your load order and clean your mods. Search TES5 Edit by Gopher on youtube.

I know of the utility programs to use. What I really need is to cut down on my number of mods, and have someone look them over thoroughly. I have went to every single mod's description page and read it top-to-bottom for install instructions and compatibilities, but I always end up with a messed up game I cannot play anymore.

Are you using Mod Organiser? I found it to be very good in identifying mods that were being completely overwritten - it also helps with ordering the mods themselves (as opposed to the esp and esm that LOOT sorts out. Since I've started using it I've had a much more stable game. Is your PC also up to using the Hi Res packs?

How about going through the latest STEP?

Then you have a nice looking, CTD reduced base, optimized for symbiotic modding, from where you can start your SexLab Experience.

For SL itself i recommend basically this order:

Frameworks (eg, ApachiiSkyHair, actor Events, DAYMOYL)

HDT PE + Addons (Breast Butt Physics, Hair, ...)

FNIS + Addons (Spells + creatures, New Animation for running with bow, ...)

Followers (eg Sofia, Arissa)

Realistic Ragdolls and Force

CBBE [or no BS 2 and UNP]

If you uninstalled now is the time to switch to Mod Organizer when you reinstall. This alone will make a LOT of things easier for you, especially the fact that you won't be reinstalling again....ever.

Use MO and set LO with LOOT. It's just that simple. And MO lets you do SOOOoooo much more as well as shows you so much more, like ways to fix issues and making overwrites very visible and easy to deal with.

I'd ditch the hi-rex textures. Since you're on a laptop your screen isn't big enough to tell the difference between vanilla and hi-rez there is no reason to rob performance and use up video memory with hi-rez textures. If you were on a much larger screen then it would make sense, but not on a 15" screen. 2K+ textures can't even be displayed pixel for pixel on a laptop screen.

The problem is, however, that no matter what I do, it seems that my game always becomes unplayable at around level 15-20. Scripts act up and slow down and I get random CTDs and freezes. What is causing the problem is not instant, but only happens around that time. I can't count how many times I have had to start my game over at that point...

I have ran Wrye Bash, TES5Edit and LOOT. Below is my current load order. I was wanting to ask if anyone sees any incompatibilities in the order so that the possibility of it being a compatibility/load order problem will be eliminated. All this is managed through Mod Organizer.

You have a pile of scripted mods that have a lot of effect over a large area (so more NPCs to fire off the scripts). Wet and Cold coupled with When Vampires Attack, for example, will cause a lot of script lag any time you're a couple cells away from any large number of NPCs. Try going into Whiterun on a rainy night and your scripts will dog your PC for sure. And that's just using TWO of those mods. Throw in SL mods, like Aroused, and several more then you should be able to tell why you have lagging scripts.

Okay. I have edited my load order again, removing mods I don't think I need that would put a large strain on my system. Here it is. This is a brand new save, and I've already had a ctd when trading with Lucan in Riverwood. Also, it is doing this thing sometimes where I activate an object to interact with it, it does nothing and the camera gets stuck. I can still move, the camera just doesn't orient correctly and is stuck facing one direction.

I really am at the breaking point here. I have tried everything, and nothing seems to work. I cannot test for mod incompatibilities simply because the effects usually happen over time. That is the most frustrating part, really. I need someone to really help me with this. Hell I might even pay someone to do it if I have to.
