AgentChicken
I'm always going to remember playing Doom and Commander Keen. Those games as a child made my imagination run wild, i used to come home from school race to the computer boot up windows 95 and playing doom for ages until it was dinner time. Link to comment
Kind9
I'm always going to remember playing Doom and Commander Keen. Those games as a child made my imagination run wild, i used to come home from school race to the computer boot up windows 95 and playing doom for ages until it was dinner time. Same here. Throw in some Duke Nukem 1 & 2, and Jazz Jackrabbit. Later on my obsession was with Myst and then Riven on the Sega Saturn. I would sit in school and daydream of the puzzles I was stuck on and then rush home to try again. I really regret that I was never into RPG's then, since the 90's are considered the golden age of RPG's. My first PC was a "486" with Windows 3.1. It had a little program called QBasic, which was my first experience with a programming language. I actually wrote a somewhat functional screen-scrolling RPG with it. All of the graphics were hardcoded arrays of pixels. But the music... Some of the best albums ever conceived came from the 90's: OK Computer, Jagged Little Pill, Sixteen Stone, Siamese Dream, Around the Fur, La Sexorcisto, Evil Empire, Antichrist Superstar, October Rust, Serpentine Gallery, The Angel and the Dark River, Dirt, Superunknown, and the list goes on. Most of those bands actually had videos on MTV, or else I learned about them in Circus Magazine. Link to comment
Suludi
JFK? Bah. But I do remember where I was when John Lennon was murdered, when Chernobyl blew up, when Challenger exploded... I went through several horror years during the 90s, so I don't bother remembering them, and I surely don't miss them. But after 2001, everything became even worse. Link to comment

Guest Mogie56
I was in 6th grade when JFK was assassinated, out of the Army in 1975. The 90's for me were the crap time every generation see's in it's life time, what they consider the fall of human awareness. The age of "I don't give a fuck" The down side. The time when you are a kid is the best time, after that everything turns to shit, then in later years you see the timeline and begin to notice the changes. and wonder, WTF happened. People stopped learning from there parents because they gave up teaching. To busy making a living and forgot how to live. Kids don't learn from there parents, they learn from each other. Gaming is just a way to hide from the reality of the times, I've hidden well. But for all intents and purposes the 90's gave birth to good gaming but not much else. Yeah I know cynical, oh well. Queen Bee
What do I miss about the 90s? Gas prices at 99¢ a gallon, a strong US economy, unemployment rate the lowest it had been in decades, and a cost of living three times better than it is now. Oh, and music videos on MTV. Seriously, what happened to that? Link to comment
SquallPT
Lets see... National television here ( Sic and TVI ) showing great cartoons at morning, great tv shows in the afternoon and great movies at night instead of talk shows and soap operas all day. Gasoline being less than 1 euro. MTV. The national coin, escudo. the prices went really high because of the euro. School. Link to comment

That's not what i mean with love and peace around the world also in the 60s you had wars VIETNAM anybody. But in my town was peaceful and nice music (i went mainly to dancing's with grunge music and jungle house) going out most young people had long hair 60s clothes and colored sunglasses and feel somehow happy. Never watch that many TV. MTV UNPLUGGED like with Nirvana awesome performance1993. Ok i live in holland and we are rather peaceful country at the time so maybe its not good example, for others completely different situation's around the world hehe. Link to comment
