D- ...do you have any jet? Jet.

 

Massively expands Jet. Adding multi-dosing, comedowns, like in FO2

 

- 6 Levels of Jet High (Minor buzz -> overdose)

- 5 Levels of Jet Comedown (minor hangover -> dangerous)

- 10 Levels of Jet Addiction (Tolerance)

- 4 Levels of Jet Withdrawal (minor -> mind destroying)

 

Taking Jet boosts you jet levels, the higher it is, the better the high. High levels give big stat bonuses, and occasionally extra perks in combat (bullet time, DR, low health regeneraton). Over time it decreases, and when it gets back to zero you get the comedown, which sets it to a negative value. You can take a load more jet then to get back up, but you can't run from the comedown forever.

 

Your tolerance level (addiction) starts at 0, as you take more it increases (game days limits speed). The higher your tolerance, the lower jet boosts you, the faster it wears off, and the worse the comedowns get.

 

After developing addiction and going cold turkey, withdrawal sets in at varying speeds and increasing levels, dependent on addiction level. At severe levels, expect insomnia, hallucinations and impulsively starting conversations with NPCs asking if they have jet. If they do, you may be unable to say no. You're going to have to trade something.

 

Jet is very moreish, with addiction you may impulsively take jet if you have it.

 

After going Cold Turkey for a while, your jet addiction level decreases slowly back to 1. It can never return to 0.

 

A new chem pusher is added in Freeside, Westside and North Vegas Square.

This mod is great for anyone who always fantasized about being a desperate hard drug fiend!

Like before... sorry, made me think of additional ideas r/t this.

  • Expand into other drugs and effects,
  • If drug addictions are at x level you can become a friend of the Feinds, they are drug addicts after all. You could share contacts and perhaps even sell and be sold drugs to each other. Easy access to their sites and no attacks from them while addicted. Perhaps even friends with Khans (if you offer to sell their stuff). Nice tie in with sex for drugs option.
  • Perhaps even a tie in with Solicitation mod you have. As your addiction rate goes up the solicitation "value" goes down to near nothing... Reflecting the "crack whore" idea of drug addiction and being taken advantage of. ;)
  • Another Kick in the Head could get special dreams of being part of a train awaking with "soreness" in a drug den somewhere raiders or Fiends are at. You got saved... sort of and "payment' has already been "given"..... Adds to the general feelings of addictions of being constantly taken advantage of.
  • Slavery add in.. after blackouts captured taken advantage of and then sold into slavery to Leigon, Raiders, or Fiends for their use in manual labor . You then have to suffer the withdrawals or submit to "extra tasks". ;) Wonder what those task would be.... :P
  • Decreasing reputation with the other factions. Boomers already reluctant to interact with someone outside. Surely they won't want to deal with the addict. Legion don't believe in drugs and you would be just another weak person (or toy as you recover ;) ) Chances are you have to some very illegal things to get what you need to buy drugs. Kill, steal etc. Lowering the NCR faction rating as you increase the drug addiction. Possibly even getting to the point where you might get some bounty hunters or rangers randomly attacking you. (like the bounty on CookCook etc). House refusing to go farther with his quest line after getting the platinum chip and ordering you to clean up.Inability to enter any of the major casinos on the strip instead only being able to see the Atomic Rangler.  Surely the Ultra Lux and Tops wouldn't want your kind in there. Gomorrah might let you in since they sell drugs as well. Maybe.  You get the ideas... actually I am sure you already have similar if not the same ideas... :D

I downloaded it and am currently collecting all the Jet I can find to test it out. :) Looks fun, I always wanted to roleplay as a chem addicted whore. Hopefully this will head in that direction as an option.

 

On an oddly more innocent note, this could also lead to thievery, merc work and whatnot as being addicted and lacking a fix would cause you to do all sorts of things for people. ;)

With all this talk about Jet perhaps this might also help understand.

 

@ Contessa. here is  wiki page with the base id...with that I believe you can "create" all the jet you need to test... Of course only for testing. It defeats the purpose of the mod to fabricate jet out of thin air. It can be useful however to get a few right off the start for testing purposes, to get addicted, experience an overdose etc.

Rocket is not covered right now.

 

The strength of all jet is variable

 

Ultrajet is 3 times stronger than regular jet for only 2 times comedown.

Dixon and my pushers' jet is less predictable than regular jet and may be 50-150% strength, and the comedown is a bit worse.

 

The 3 pushers I added, dixon and the khans get restocked every few days if running low, and I also increased the chance of some other merchants having it.

 

...there should be plenty available to find without cheating ;)

Just someone might want to start their path of becoming a jet induced junky whore and don't want to try to find someone to buy it from...

 

Sorry about the rocket. I thought it was already a part of this. I like the concept of jet being variable. Is that an MCM menu? I really got to get back to FNV soon. (perhaps TTW this would work for that as well correct?, well maybe not your "pushers" however the general effects? )

It should work fine with TTW, just no extra jet available. No MCM currently. Duration is based on gametime, so if you have a mod that modifies that it will last longer/shorter, I think FNV default is something like 1 gamehour = 2 real minutes, and quite a lot of people increase that. I'm not sure if there is a way I can read the gametime/real time setting in game, which would be nice, otherwise I will add a slider to MCM.

 

Variable jet strength means you can OD by mistake ;)

Game time = real time * TimeScale

TimeScale being a special var like GameDaysPassed. Vanilla is 30, Project Nevada usually sets it to 20.

Most of the new tracking system I'm working on in spunk uses formulas like

let iEvalsPassed := 17280 * (fNow - spurt["LastEval"]) / TimeScale

(ie: how many 'real' 5-second cycles have passed in a duration determined by 2 starting points expressed in GDP)

One problem though....It seems I did something wrong...how does the addiction trigger? I consumed every jet I could find but nothing happened...then I drank one bottle scotch and bamm...scotch-addicted ^^ So how is it different from the vanilla mechanics?

 

I looked into your mod via NVEdit and I saw that you removed the effects from jet completely...so how can the addiction trigger then? o.0

Or is there a special requirement I missed?

The basic mechanics are:

 

The jet ingestibles now run a script (only) that reads your addiction level from a quest, and increments quest vars for jet level and comedown.

 

The different jet effects are seperate spells. The quest keeps track of your jet level and compares it to a map of thresholds -> spells, then casts/dispels an effect as appropriate.

 

Depending on how high your jet level is, there is a chance for your tolerance (which is also addiction level) to increase, but it can only increase once per two game days (I may speed this up).

 

A positive jet level (high) decreases over time based on your tolerance, when it gets to zero, it is set to the comedown, which is a negative level.

 

A negative jet level (comedown) increases over time based on tolerance, and stops at zero.

 

When your jet level is zero, there is a withdrawal timer based on tolerance. When the timer expires you get withdrawal level 1. Depending on your tolerance, this may repeat for 3 more withdrawal levels. This might be better if I speed it up.

 

When you are at peak withdrawal for your tolerance level, the cold turkey timer starts. When you hit it, your tolerance reduces by 1, and this may repeat until tolerance returns to 1 (it can never get back to zero, but 1 is not very bad).

Okay, then I would guess that the quest which the jet script reads out cannot start...can I start it manually via console?

Or is there command to check the current jet level of my character? Maybe it is already assigned...would tell me that the problem lies somewhere else.

Debug is enabled by default at the moment, take some jet and then look at the console.

 

It may take up to 5 seconds to come up after taking jet, so after that long check your pip boy status for effects.

 

If jet/dixons/ultra display an effect description in the inventory (like +15 AP), then something is overwriting this mod, they should have no details.

I made sure, nothing is overwriting the values for the different jet types...so no effect descriptions in inventory.

 

When you say debug is enabled by default then there should be a notification at the console when Shake the dope is loaded, right? I have notifications for Sexout, Sexout Soliciting, msex Courtesan and Wear & Tear...but nothing for ShaketheDopeOut...additionally when taking any jet there are no entries at the console so I guess the scripts really do not load correctly...I wonder what is disrupting? o.0 It`s a completely new game so the problem has to be one of my mods...or a missing requirement -.-

 

I do not need SexoutDrugging, do I?

 

I will start a new game with only the basic mods loaded to narrow things down...but thank you for your help ^^

 

Edit: Checked new game with only the DLCs, SONG, SCR, StDo, ENB and NVSE4gb (Version 4.2)...removed NVAC and NVSR....and everything is up to date (I think)....still no effects with any jet

Sounds very odd. What version of the game are you using- patch and localization? English / Non English has some potential conflicts.

 

Try this in the game console:

 

GetModIndex "Shake-The-Dope-Out.esp"

 

I must be "double" quotes not 'single'.

 

If it returns FF then the plugin isn't loaded for some reason, so try redownloading/installing it.

 

If not, try (the above is index is the XX):

 

GetQuestRunning XX000B0C

 

and

 

GetQuestRunning XX000AFD

 

--

If they both return 1, then try:

 

Player.AddItem XX001f4b 1

 

which is the mod added Elliott's Jet, then take it and check the console.

You could also double check you have NVSE V4 installed by typing into console:

Aaaah cool, those console commands are good to know ^^

 

- the mod index displayed is "6B"...so the plugin is loaded

- quest 6B000B0C returns 1.00...cool

- quest 6B000AFD returns 0.00...

 

...so the - ShakeJet "Shake Shake Shake The Dope Out!" - quest was the problem :(

 

I enabled the "start game enabled" and "unknown 4" flags for this quest and now it triggers and the mod seems to work :)

...but I don`t know if that might break something else

 

anyway my vegas girl can go flying now ;D

Btw: I have the german Ultimate Edition with patch 1.4.0.525. Maybe the german localization is the problem ^^

Thanks, that tracks it down. The quest that was running is supposed to initialize a few things (like dispel vanilla withdrawal + enable debug) and then start the other, but it also restocks some merchants every few days- one of which probably has a different FormID in the German to English version, meaning the script crashes and never runs. Should be easy to add a workaround.

 

It should all work now you've started the other quest, there will just be less jet for sale.

Uploaded a new version with a fix so it should now work with non English FNV localizations.

 

The problem was the vendor chest for Miguel's pawn shop has a different FormID... God knows why, the base object does not.

Becasue the developers saw through to the future where you would be working on this and just wanted to aggravate you with some random difference in mods.. ... lol.

 

Throwing some rep to you for this mod. I like where it is going. It is drawing me back to FNV.. Dam you.. :P . I am still working on my Skyrim game and some playing but keep this up I will just have to come back and play FNV some more. isn't hundreds of hours playing enough? :D

 

Between all your updates to my old favorites, this new addition and nyaallich's Bangatron!. (Got to love that name if nothing else.. lol)  it is getting dam near impossible...

Awesome mod, really looking forward to using this in a full playthrough.
 
I’ve been trying it out but there’s one part I can’t get working. When I have medium withdrawal (tolerance 10) and I talk to someone I know has jet I get the two options, pay or trade. Neither do anything, they just end the conversation. The console shows the line – “Shake: DPQ – Error, rSeller or iType was unset”. Talking with the dealers this mod adds in still works (not Dixon) but no one else.

I’ve got loads of other mods I’m using but this is still highest in the load order. Just want to know if you have any ideas?
