Hi, basically this is just a thread where you say the name of your first PC game and the experience you had with it.

My first PC game was DOOM and I was really impresed with the graphics haha

Diablo II

Got me into PC gaming. I was a consoler before then. I still remember the fond memories I've had playing this game during hot summer nights in an unconditioned apartment. The Act II desert made the heat feel especially close to home. After a couple of game finishes, the novelty of the singleplayer wore off, and from that point on I was utterly hooked on the Bnet ladder, leveling a few high-end 90+ characters decked out for PvP. My jav barb was just unholy, it would utterly crump players with far more expensive gear. Skill and build still mattered a little before the 1.10 patch. I later moved to a private server which was active for some time. I still play it from time to time, though coming back full circle to heavily modded single player (medianxl). It still remains the best game of its kind.

I can't even remember. Back then games were on big floppies and cassette tapes, plus you usually had to spend a day or two typing to get them before you could save them onto said floppies or tapes. In 1980 (4th grade) a friend and I made a game like Tron Light Cycles for the Tandy TRS80 computers at school as a project for our Enrichment class.

At school was the original Oregon Trail in hi-def 2D grreeen!  Yippie!  First on a home PC was the original Civilization by Sid Meier.

I can't remember what it was called but it was a Egyptian style ripoff of Joust.

Experience:  HAY IF I FLAP MY WINGS HARD ENOUGH I REACH THE TOP AND STAY THERE AND NO ONE CAN HURT ME EXCEPT THOSE EYES OF HORUS.

The first PC game I actually played was a combat flight sim -- A-10 Warthog. This was then followed by LHX, but then having Doom at the time (when PCs were very expensive) -- even if it was shareware -- was of envy to everyone else and playing the game was a rare privilege. However it was only when I was given the ancient XT with the CGA display that I played Simcity, and it was fucking slow but acceptable.

Unfortunately the first game I ever played was when I was about 9, Rome Total War, when it originally came out.

(bit weird for a strategy game for the first one, but oh well)

I remember being amazed how many people could be onscreen at once, if only I had known what gaming would turn into.
