[Help] Mod Installation questions

So I am doing a fresh install of Skyrim in order to maximize the effectiveness of SexLab and redo my body mods.

I useb CBBE+TBBP and manually installed everything the first time but this time I wanted to try the UNPB body since that is what is recommended.

In what order am I installing these mods? Right now I have it down to

1 Realistic Ragdolls
2 CHSBHC
3 XP32 skeleton
4 dimonized UNP
5 UNPB (blessed body meta installer)

When do I install the beauty, hair, or UNP reskin mods? As well as FNIS, SKSE SexLab/HDT physics and all this. Feels like a headache already...

I am attaching a screenshot of all the mods I'm going to use, feel free to recommend better face/beauty mods.

I am usually good with modding, but had gotten too many CTDs and texture irregularities from the first clean install that I re-installed again and am now asking for a little help :(

Start with the complete body packages first then move to the individual items. For this I would start with CHSBHC, then the UNP/UNPB body, textures then skeleton and animations.

So the skeleton being last would not conflict with any of the body physics, or have mesh tearing?

revised:

CHSBHC
dimonized UNP
UNPB (blessed body meta installer)

Realistic Ragdolls

 XP32 skeleton

like that?

As long as you install Realistic Ragdolls before XP32 Skeleton, you should be good. It's fine if the skeleton overwrites files from Realistic Ragdolls, but you want to avoid the vice-versa happening.

OKay great, now FNIS and the rest can all come AFTER doing the body and skeleton?

Also, can I change/add skin types after going through all of this or should I settle on one beforehand?

Sorry for all the questions, I forgot how fucking IMMENSE the amount of mods for Skyrim are and how to get them all working....

Confused as to why you are installing CHSBHC and regular UNP at all. You don't need them whatsoever. This is all you need (and in the install order).

-Realistic Ragdolls and Force

-UNPB Body

-Beauty mods (hair, skin textures, eyes, etc)

-FNIS and then any animations you have

-XP32 Maximum Skeleton

Your skeleton will always be the last thing you install. You don't want anything overwriting that, so you do it last. After you install the skeleton, then run FNIS. Check the arm fix box and you're good to go. No need for CHSBHC or the original UNP.

When it comes to beauty mods, go in the order of what you want to show up last. For instance, with me, I have these mods and do them in this order.

Apachi Hair -> Apachi multi color -> SG Hair -> No More Blocky Faces -> Vampire Face Fix -> Eyes of Beauty -> Better Females by Bella -> SG Female Textures Renewal -> Smile in HD -> Better Vampire Fangs & Eyes.

If you want to constantly change our your skin texture, always make sure to reinstall the other mods you installed after you did your skin texture. So for instance, I would reinstall Smile in HD and Better Vampire Fangs & Eyes right after I install a new skin texture.

That clears up a lot thank you so much!!! So after doing all that and getting the baseline mods in...SexLab framework just goes over top of it?

Almost forgot about the boys! The SOS and any other male retextures would be in the same order as females correct?

Pretty much yeah. SexLab doesn't overwrite any of your body assets or skeleton stuff, so just install it when you install the rest of your animations.

Install your Realistic Ragdolls and Force, and THEN SoS and UNPB. Then of course beauty stuff and FNIS and then animations. Then your skeleton. Overwrite the skeletons with XP32 since it has support for everything else.

Beauty stuff is pretty much the same. Install your male textures the same time you install your female textures.

I saw Mod Organizer in that list. Good choice. Just know that installing SKSE (and it's plugins) are still generally installed manually. The rest you can install with MO, although FNIS is a bit trickier than just starting MO.

Using MO is a good idea, though. It should prevent needing a reinstall in the future. There is a good thread on MO to read in the non-adult section.

Oh jeez, males need a skeleton too? Or is that in XP32 / SOS?

Also I have really only found MO useful for the mods that have installers...I'm a manual-install guy myself.

MO keeps stuff out of the Skyrim directory. That's the single biggest reason to use it over NMM and manual installation. It also lets you never overwrite anything so in this case the order you install body, skeleton and so on don't really matter, it only matters what order they're set in (for the over"read", not over"write").

Don't unpack BSAs, even if MO recommends it.
it's only usefull for modders. For players it's actually counter productive, as BSAs reduce load times and some stuttering.
